I was informed by email in advance that there was a large event at the bar downstairs that day, but I didn't think it was so noisy. Rather than sound, the deep bass sound is very loud, and earplugs and noise canceling are really meaningless. I have cancer from 12:00 to 3:30 in the middle of the night. It was really painful. If you receive an email saying that there is a large event, cancellation is free, so we recommend cancellation.
Very close to the airport, ten euros is enough, no need to make an appointment in advance, Uber can call the car at any time. It is a bit far from the city. Breakfast is OK, there are grilled sausage food that Chinese people can eat.
Well airport is in the name and you can hear the engines hit full throttle but i need 'airport' to mean airport. About 18 minutes walk, a 290 bus ride or 10 minutes ripoff taxi. Like all airports, the drivers may as well be criminals, they will not like getting a fare to the royal it being a short journey.
Restaurant is called 'forks' and shares staff with the basement breakfast room. Lots of breakfast choices and a none too unreasonable cappuchino from a machine.
Rooms are fine but without tea and coffee making tools. The bathroom underfloor heating invites a midwinter visit.
This wonderful hotel is right in the center of old Zagreb. Everything is within walking distance.....restaurants abound, flower market and food markets, shops, the trolley for transportation is close by, and many museums, churches, government buildings, parks and Historic sites. The Hotel Dubrovnik is clean, light rooms, comfy beds, and a sumptuous breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Located near to the town square with nearby tram stations to the inter city bus terminal. Hostel is clean and well maintained with clean bedsheets and towel. Room is spacious with adequate space and locker.
Well equipped kitchen to prepare your meals and large common areas for relaxation. Arrived at the hotel on the 21st April 2025 at 6am and requested to store my luggage but was directed to store my luggage downstairs in the common area even though the luggage room was right behind her. However would highly recommend this hostel to fellow travellers.
The location is very good, there are many bakeries nearby, the bus terminal, the city center and other places can be reached in up to 20 minutes. The whole hostel is very clean and smells so good! ! ! I regret that I forgot to ask the boss which aromatherapy I used. The only downside is that there is a bit noisy on the street. I don’t know who has been honking the car horn the night I lived... In addition (maybe my own problem), I didn’t find the hair dryer, but the problem is not big ~
The hotel itself is nice, but the room was very dirty. And I’m not talking about minor surface dirt - it was clear that proper cleaning had not been done for a long time. There were layers of dust, a dirty carpet, stained doors, etc.
We also booked parking, but no one explained where exactly we should go or how to enter. When we called the hotel from the parking area, no one opened the gate. We had to go to the hotel in person and ask again.
These are things hotel staff should explain proactively and clearly, rather than guests having to chase this information themselves. Overall, the hotel itself is not bad, but the dirt and the passivity of the staff completely spoil the experience.
The hotel is at this little quiet corner which is also good since we had to open the window at night (aircon is centralised and it’s still “winter” despite in spring). We were given level 6 which is the highest floor so it helped with the quietness. The breakfast spread was amazing, lots of cheeses and cured meat. The cooked vegetables are the best, though it can get a little oily. It’s a convenient location to walk around the city, and visit the parks and museum. There are good food options around as well. However, we were there during Easter so most of the places are close but there was a pizza place within 6 mins walk which is open during Easter. Lots of supermarkets around, so it’s easy to get snacks and fruits.

Great
GGuest UserNice and clean hotel with excellent service. Front desk was very helpful and recommended good eating places and helped take care of the car. Parking was very convenient just out in front of the hotel.
GGuest UserVery satisfied with this stay. I flew from Munich and arrived early. The front desk arranged a room when there was one available. I am very grateful. The room is very new, the supplies are relatively new, there is nothing wrong with it. The room is very quiet in a residential area, and there is a supermarket and bakery next to it, which is very convenient. The breakfast is good, with a variety of choices and good quality. For example, the dried apricots are as good as those in Turkey, big, sweet and soft. The disadvantage is not the hotel's problem. Although the road from the bus station to the hotel is flat, it is very bad (much better on the station side) and the other side is not as good as the countryside. It is very tiring to drag the luggage
GGuest UserWe had a lovely stay at the hotel! The pool and the gym are both great, the breakfast had a vast selection and was delicious but the best part of this hotel was the excellence service of all staff. Not a single staff member was not exceptional. It is worthy to point out that it may not be optimal to stay here with a baby (which we did) as the hotel has many lights, loud-ish music and smells of strong perfume - things that do not bother the average person but makes it a bit stressful with a baby. Nevertheless, definitely a recommendation! It is also a 20 mins walk away from the city Center, that’s something one should be aware of as well.
GGuest UserOne Rude Staff Member Ruined an Otherwise Decent Stay
I stayed at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel with high expectations given its historic prestige, but one employee’s unprofessional behavior significantly tarnished my experience.
Upon arrival, I mistakenly entered the hotel’s parking area as the parking gate opened. After realizing the error, I proceeded to the lobby, completed check-in, and moved my car to the designated drop-off zone for valet service. At this point, a parking attendant aggressively confronted me—hands on hips, speaking in a condescending tone, and demanding how I’d accessed the area. His demeanor was more suited to scolding a trespasser than addressing a paying guest.
To be fair, the front desk and concierge staff were perfectly polite and efficient. Had I not encountered this particular employee, my overall impression would have been positive. But for a hotel branding itself as a luxury establishment, even one hostile interaction is unacceptable. A guest’s entire perception can be undone by a single moment of poor service.
The incident casts doubt on the hotel’s training standards. Why does such a disparity in staff attitudes exist? I hope management addresses this, as no amount of century-old tradition excuses rudeness. Until then, I’d hesitate to return or recommend Esplanade Zagreb without caution.
LLiz MsiaThis is a reputable hotel, and the environment, service, and quality are all guaranteed.
After checking in, we entered our room and were immediately hit with a faint smell of cigarette smoke. We complained, and the front desk promptly switched us to a fresh-smelling room. This reminded us that in the future, when booking, we must specify a non-smoking room.
The hotel breakfast was delicious, varied, and beautifully presented. The gym equipment was excellent. It's also quite close to important uptown attractions, reachable within a 15-minute walk.
The hotel is worth the price. I enjoyed the stay very much.

GGuest UserFirst things I like to express my appreciation to Toni at front desk who's very friendly welcoming my first day check in and helping me when I have problem with rental car. He really put his effort making so many calls when the rental car didn't response well, but finally all problem solved. And he sent his regard throe his friend at front desk on my second check in after 7 days traveling to Split and Dubrovnik, his name also Tony and he also very friendly.
Thanks to both of you Toni & Tony ( I hope I didn't wrong spelling your name )
It's highly recommend for all type of traveler, the room is very quite, I can't hear anything from next room or outside, sleep like a baby. I love the spacious shower room and all luxury amenities. If not mistaken I think this is a brand new hotel.
Since i drive a car, for me location is not important, 8 minutes drive to the old town, not too far. I like the neighborhood is so quite.
Breakfast has many menus and tasty too.
Overall is perfect , one thing I don't like is the dimming lights.
If they have a brighter light, I will be so happy.

TTraveler DanVery nice hotel. Very modern and clean with a big breakfast selection. The room was big and clean and the staff were great. Easy to get into the centre of town and simple to get to and from the airport too
TThanis T.The hotel is clean and basic amenities are provided. Reasonable with the price. Since I rely a lot on walking, the location is neither good nor bad. It was 2.5 km from the city center but since it is spring, the walk is really enjoyable.
