Through his most important works,De Queeste, YasminaandWeegee, you will be introduced to Mannaert's artistic universe in all its richness. The exhibition highlights the artist's range of themes and graphic approaches, offering an immersion into the heart of his unique and poetic worldview.

This is the first chapter of the "Collection Encounters" series, a lecture series dedicated to contemporary or modern art that aims to establish a dialogue between the RMFAB collection and external collections. This event provides an opportunity to question the fusion of contemporary African art and the creative practices of Western painters, demonstrating that inspiration is not the same as appropriation.

How to decipher gender stereotypes in art collections? Masculine, aggressive men; gentle, maternal, nurturing women bound to domestic roles; or conversely, seducers, sinners, even those burdened with guilt: these are stereotypes deeply rooted in the collective imagination, conveyed through art. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium focuses on these gender-related stereotypes with a new exhibition. "Art and Gender" explores how images and artworks reinforce or challenge these representations.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of *Métal Hurlant*, this exhibition will look back on its past and look forward to its present, focusing on the rich content and far-reaching influence of this revolutionary magazine, whose impact extends far beyond the realm of comics.

In its half-century of existence, the cogs of the machine jammed a few times, but in 2021 the magazine, in a new guise, began a new life. This third revolution, meanwhile, counts 12 issues. To celebrateMétal Hurlant's 50th anniversary, the exhibition looks at the past and present, zooming in on the richness and influence of the revolutionary magazine, which reaches far beyond the world of comics.
