The National Pool Lifeguard Training (NPLQ) is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of Pool Rescue Techniques, Lifeguarding Theory, First Aid, and CPR. It is a physically demanding program that consists of three sections, all of which must be successfully completed to obtain the qualification.
Section 1 focuses on the Lifeguard and the Law, as well as Swimming Pool Supervision. It covers important topics such as understanding legal responsibilities, identifying pool hazards, and implementing control measures to ensure the safety of swimmers.
Section 2 delves into Intervention and Rescue, as well as Emergency Action Plans. Participants will learn how to effectively intervene in emergency situations, perform rescues, and develop emergency action plans to handle various scenarios. This section also includes training on rescuing a casualty with a suspected spinal injury.
Section 3 is dedicated to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and First Aid. Participants will gain essential skills in performing CPR, utilizing an AED, and providing immediate first aid in emergency situations.
