This comprehensive week-long session will cover a wide range of topics, including rules, regulations, and interpretations for both baseball and softball. Participants will also gain expertise in the mechanics of the two-umpire system, along with valuable insights into the philosophy, mental approach, and attitude required for Little League Baseball and Softball. The academy will delve into handling game situations, maintaining control, and exploring three-and four-umpire systems. Enrollment for the Umpire Academy is limited to a maximum of forty participants, ensuring an intimate and focused learning environment. In the event of inclement weather, all field exercises and plate work will be conducted indoors, guaranteeing uninterrupted training sessions. The Umpire Mechanics Clinic, a highly anticipated event for aspiring umpires, is set to take place from September 15-17, 2023, in South Williamsport, PA. This clinic, organized by Little League International, will be held at the prestigious Little League Baseball World Series Complex. In order to provide the best learning experience, the clinic will primarily take place outdoors on the fields. However, in the event of inclement weather, the instruction will seamlessly transition indoors to the state-of-the-art Little League batting cages. Enrollment for the clinic is limited to 40 umpire students, so early registration is highly recommended. The cost of the clinic is $135 per student, which covers three meals on Saturday and two meals on Sunday, as well as lodging on-site in the Creighton J. Hale International Grove.
