These vivid and multi-layered stories transcend genres, ranging from contemporary realism to dystopia, futuristic fantasy, and historical fiction. Each fiction is accompanied by black-and-white drawings by renowned artist Torkwase Dyson. Canisia Lubrin is a rising literary star, whose previous works include "Voodoo Hypothesis" and "The Dyzgraphxst". She has been awarded prestigious accolades such as the Griffin Poetry Prize, OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, and the Derek Walcott Prize, among others. As a finalist for the Trillium Award for Poetry and the Governor General's Literary Award, Lubrin has garnered international recognition. She is currently the poetry editor at McClelland & Stewart and coordinates the Creative Writing MFA at the University of Guelph.
