The City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Cycle Mechanics (Derby) is a comprehensive course designed to provide a solid foundation for aspiring home mechanics and those interested in pursuing a career in the cycle industry. Hosted at the Life Cycle Hub in Derby, this professional bike workshop offers a unique learning experience. With experienced tutors who have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, participants will have the opportunity to learn the latest techniques in the field. 

The course is structured as a two-day intensive program, running from 9 am to 5 pm. Upcoming course dates for the City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Cycle Mechanics (Derby) are Tuesday, 20th and Wednesday, 21st February, as well as Saturday, 9th and Saturday, 16th March. 

Throughout the course, participants will gain practical skills and knowledge in a variety of areas. This includes learning how to remove, refit, and adjust a rim brake assembly, as well as a derailleur gear system. Additionally, participants will be taught how to repair a puncture, including the correct removal and refitting of a wheel, tire, and inner tube. The course also covers carrying out a systematic cycle check and rectifying faults. 

To enroll in this course, participants must be 18 years old or above. However, those aged 16-18 may attend with written permission from a parent. The course fee is £330, with the option to pay a deposit and the remaining balance 30 days before the course begins. 

Learners also benefit from a 10% discount on a range of products available at the bike workshop, including professional toolkits, bike parts, and accessories.
