Jennifer Coburn's meticulous research and empathetic storytelling shed light on the lives of three women at the Heim Hochland maternity home in Bavaria. Gundi, a pregnant university student and member of a resistance group, finds herself intertwined with Hilde, an enthusiastic believer in the Nazi cause, and Irma, a 44-year-old nurse seeking solace after personal tragedy. Despite their contrasting convictions, these women navigate the terrifying depths of Hitler's plan to build a Nazi-Aryan nation. Cradles of the Reich serves as a cautionary tale for modern times, emphasizing the strength of women working together in the face of oppression. The event will take place at Theodore's Books on November 9th at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, but registration is required.
