The Wood Furniture Design Workshop is a two-day event that provides participants with a hands-on experience in exploring various effective construction techniques. This workshop is ideal for beginners, artists, and craftspeople who are interested in learning about easily accessible tools, materials, and processes. The focus of the workshop will be on creating functional furniture items such as the 'Crate' or 'Sedia' chairs, using Enzo Mari's AutoProgettzione and Rietveld's crate series techniques. These techniques are versatile, economic, and sustainable, making them suitable for a wide range of personal projects in art or design. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own piece of furniture under the guidance of Andrew Revell, a professional artist and tutor with extensive experience in carpentry for theatre, TV, and exhibitions. The workshop will take place on February 24th and 25th, 2024, in London at the London Sculpture Workshop. The cost of the course is £260, and there are only six places available. It is recommended to wear old clothes and strong footwear, and safe workshop practices will be covered. Basic tools and materials will be provided for completing one project, with the option to purchase additional supplies for custom projects.
