Suwon Station is designed for easy navigation, with clear signage in both Korean and English. The subway platforms are located underground, while the train platforms are above ground.

- By Bus: From Suwon Station, take buses 11, 13, 36, or 39, which will bring you directly to Hwaseong Fortress. The bus ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and the fare is around ₩1,500 ($1.15). Buses are frequent and convenient for getting closer to the fortress if you don’t want to walk.
- By Taxi: If you prefer a faster, more direct option, taxis are readily available outside Suwon Station. A taxi ride to Hwaseong Fortress takes around 5-10 minutes and costs ₩5,000-₩7,000 ($3.75-$5.25), depending on traffic. Traveling from Seoul Station to Suwon is simple, with multiple options depending on your budget and schedule:
- KTX (Korea Train Express): The fastest option, taking just 25-30 minutes to reach Suwon Station. The KTX fare is about ₩8,400 ($6.40 USD). This is perfect if you're in a rush or prefer comfort, as KTX trains are spacious and reliable.
- Korail Mugunghwa or ITX: These trains are a bit slower, taking 30-40 minutes, but they’re more affordable, with fares around ₩2,700 ($2.05 USD). These trains depart frequently from Seoul Station and offer a comfortable ride.
- Subway (Line 1): For budget travelers, the subway is the cheapest way to get to Suwon. Line 1 takes about 1 hour, and the fare is ₩1,800 ($1.35 USD). It’s more crowded, especially during rush hours, but it’s reliable and gives you a chance to experience Seoul’s extensive subway system.
When you reach Suwon Station, follow the above routes to easily reach Hwaseong Fortress or other nearby attractions like the Korean Folk Village and Suwon World Cup Stadium.
