Holiday Inn Resort YICHUN MINGYUE MOUNTAIN by IHG

9.0/10
Good

The hotel is quite new, conveniently located in a prominent and easy-to-find spot. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean. Environment: The surrounding area boasts numerous dining options, supermarkets, bars, and late-night eateries. Takeaway services are also readily available, and you'll find no shortage of tea shops and cafes. The hotel itself features restaurants, and the breakfast spread offers a good variety with decent taste – truly comprehensive and satisfying. Service: Fantastic! The staff were very friendly and always smiling.👍 Facilities: A point to note for first-time visitors to Yichun – not all rooms at the hotel include hot spring tickets.

The environment was decent, and breakfast offered a good variety. Overall, the service was okay. However, the main drawback, likely due to management issues, was the poor elevator experience. Not only were there cigarette butts, but the long bench inside was covered in thick dust, as were other parts of the elevator. Upon entering the restroom, a strong smell of urine hit me. Since the room's door closer was faulty, and it was late, I decided to just deal with it and go to sleep. Around 5 AM, I was woken up by the noisy street outside. The room phone was useless, so I eventually had to call the front desk to get engineering to come fix it, which took over ten minutes. At breakfast, I had to look through more than ten cups, all of which were chipped. It was truly a very disappointing experience.

This guesthouse is a little bit away from the main scenic area, but it's still part of the overall attraction. The environment is absolutely fantastic—clean, tidy, and well-equipped. Because it's slightly removed from the central area, it's surprisingly quiet, even though earplugs are provided in the rooms. We had three people staying, but the breakfast was only set for two. They wanted an additional 98 RMB to add a breakfast for our child, which felt a bit stingy, especially since the breakfast quality, to be honest, wasn't worth 98 RMB. The hotel provides a special branded mineral water unique to the scenic area, called Wangxian Valley. It tastes pleasantly sweet, but unfortunately, you can't buy it anywhere else. One area that could use improvement is the electric cart service for luggage. I hope they can increase the frequency of rides or speed up the pick-up/drop-off service.

The hotel is very close to Nanchang East Station and provides free pick-up and drop-off. You only need to make an appointment in advance with the front desk. The front desk Xiao Wu is also very polite and enthusiastic. The facilities, services and hygiene are all good. It is worth coming again.

This was by far the best part of our trip to China, this village was incredibly beautiful, we found ourselves snapping so many photos, it really was picture perfect everywhere you looked. Just to stay within the scenic area, was nice to wander around in the morning without the crowds. Sadly, because of all the rain we couldn't do the rafting which we were looking forward to. Only negative was the pool was a long way from the room, was quite a hike to get there and back. We splashed out on this one as it was quite expensive compared to everywhere else we stayed in China but was very worth it. Many thanks to Thomas who helped us with travel arrangements, one of the few hotel staff we found in China who spoke english.

The hotel felt quite new, clean, and tidy, and all the staff were really nice. They offer shuttle services to and from the cable car station and the main street station. Every morning, Master Bao (包师傅) drove us to the main street station and picked us up in the evening. He was so kind and patient (we actually felt a bit embarrassed with how often we requested the hotel car). Huge thanks to him! I didn't have high expectations for a scenic area hotel's breakfast, but the all-season breakfast far exceeded them. There was a wide variety of food, plenty of vegetables and high-protein options, and the fruit was super fresh. The tofu, shredded pork, and vegetable soup was especially delicious. They also had freshly ground coffee. You can also order lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant, which has a clean environment, and for me, it felt more reassuring than eating at outside restaurants.

Extended Stay Benefits - Breakfast: The breakfast selection was incredibly rich! I got to try Nanchang boiled dumplings, mixed rice noodles, and jarred soup. Location: The location is excellent! It's very close to Wanshou Palace, the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall, Jiangxi Provincial Museum, and Bayi Square. I chose to stay in a阁景 (pavilion view) twin room for two consecutive nights and could see the main pavilion and the Ferris wheel in the distance. It was great to enjoy the night view without having to jostle through crowds at the attractions. Cleanliness: The room facilities were excellent, clean, and hygienic.

This hotel is located within the Taoyangli tourist area, and its back door leads directly to the Imperial Kiln Museum with just a room card swipe, which is incredibly convenient for taking beautiful photos during off-peak hours. The overall hotel environment is excellent, and the service is superb. The staff are almost always responsive and attend to requests promptly. The complimentary pottery throwing and glass blowing experiences were also fantastic and genuinely offered. My daughter absolutely loved the bracelet souvenir she received when we checked out. We'll definitely be back!

Hyatt Place Jingdezhen Taoxichuan

A 'Porcelain Capital' Artistic Stay in a Red Brick Building. My visit to Jingdezhen led me to choose the Hyatt Place Jingdezhen Taoxichuan, and my overall experience far exceeded expectations. Located in Taoxichuan Phase II, the hotel is just across the street from the Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Block. It's a short walk to the market and night market, and getting to the Imperial Kiln Museum and the China Ceramic Museum by taxi is also very convenient. The room features the standard Hyatt Place style, with excellent natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. It also comes with a private balcony, offering views of distant mountains and a chance to soak in the slow pace of the Porcelain Capital. The sofa bed is very comfortable, the minibar is complimentary, and amenities are complete with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. Upon check-in, the front desk assists with adding a butler on WeChat, who then sends a local food guide and travel tips. Their response time is very quick. Butler Becky provided excellent service! 👍 Breakfast was one of the highlights. The Gallery Kitchen offers specialty Jiangxi dishes like Wagan soup, rouguan egg, youtiao wrapped in glutinous rice cake, and rice noodles, with both Chinese and Western options available. The freshly ground coffee was also a big plus. Although the restaurant isn't large, the variety of food is comprehensive. Overall, this is a hotel that combines design, convenience, and great value for money. Whether you're exploring the Taoxichuan Night Market, experiencing ceramic culture, or using it as a base to discover Jingdezhen, it comes highly recommended.

Mehood Lestie Hotel (Wanshou Palace Tengwang Pavilion Branch)

9.7/10
Excellent

My most satisfying experience in Nanchang. When choosing a hotel, I wanted one close to Tengwang Pavilion. After considering the ratings, location, and price, I chose this one, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk and reception staff were very service-oriented. After going up the elevator, I realized I had left something on the first floor, and the 'Housekeeping Butler' quickly helped deliver it to my room with an excellent attitude. They also helped introduce the hotel's facilities and services. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the guest rooms are clean and tidy. Besides the usual amenities, they also provide a sewing kit, Chinese chess, facial cleanser, makeup remover, hair gel, and more. The environment is also very comfortable. When my friend and I arrived in the room, we only planned to rest briefly, but I ended up sleeping for over an hour on the bed, waking up feeling refreshed. Being on a high floor, the room offered a nice view and a broad panorama. It's a shame the weather wasn't cooperating; if it had been sunny, I should have been able to see the bright moon and the sunset. The river view was a bit distant, which was slightly disappointing, but overall, the landscape was quite rich, offering views of both nearby residential areas and distant scenic spots. The hotel's restaurant is also a major highlight. Basically, they offer service at any time of day. In the morning, there's a relatively rich breakfast. During the day, there are various teas, small snacks, biscuits, preserved fruits, and fresh fruit. In the evening, they provide a late-night snack, which, in addition to the daytime tea breaks, includes freshly cooked wontons, noodles, and rice vermicelli. Overall, it truly aligns with its positioning as a 'lifestyle hotel.' All in all, this stay exceeded my expectations. If I had to point out a minor drawback, it would be the slightly remote location. As one taxi driver complained when dropping me back at the hotel, although it's called the 'Wanshou Palace Tengwang Pavilion Branch,' it's still some distance from both attractions. There's no subway nearby, but there are plenty of shared bikes, effectively solving the 'last mile' problem, and it's also very convenient to get a taxi from the hotel. For various reasons, my overall experience in Nanchang wasn't great, but the hotel stay largely compensated for it, and the comprehensive facilities and services are entirely worth the price.
