The location was good at Centre of many attractions. Easy to walk around. Many foodie shops to eat. Transport also available nearby, so easy to catch a bus.
The rooms are well maintained and clean. The occupants also kept noise level low and not disturbing others. The bedsheets looks clean and no bad smells. The whole room is less with lights maybe purposely, so couldn't see much. And the visibility is low.
For the that money you paid, for that location it's recommended. Anyway what you pay, what you get. No worries, no complaints.
One thing that I would like to highlight is the stairs that you have to.climb up, especially if you carry a big backpack. It's in 3rd floor. No lifts. Go up and down, for some exercise. Hahaha.....
Anyway, thanks.
After you go around see the beautiful city, beautiful casinos, you forget everything. Cheers.....

MMhelanieThe experience of staying in the place is great! It is convenient for those who needed a place to stay temporarily. Also to include the place’s destination, wherein it is close to the tourists spots that we wanted to visit and take pictures. Overall, the place is good and convenient for everyone.
JJulia031089If you consider booking Pensao Carmen, you should know that on the signage of the hotel it’s NOT Pensao Carmen! Remember that, otherwise you’re gonna have a hard time looking for this place)) I’ll add photos of the actual signage.
Pros: conveniently located in Macau’s old town, it takes around 10 minutes to get to The Ruins of St.Paul on foot, and all other historical sites are just around.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, even if they didn’t speak English at all. I met the three of them and all were old ladies, super nice and cute. I left my luggage after check-out for the whole day before moving to Coloane village hotel.
The bed sheets were of good quality and very clean, I enjoyed my sleep after a tiring flight. The bed, though, was kinda hard, not for everyone, but my back was grateful)) pillows were also comfortable, better than at some much more expensive hotels.
You can get as much water as you want from the water station at the corridor.
There’s a bus station 5 minutes walking from the hotel, the name is Ponte 16, it’s right in front of the famous Sofitel.
CONS: The hotel is located on the second floor, there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up there.
My room was tiny, it’s really just for one person. The bed is kinda short, for me it was enough but I think a taller person might not feel comfortable enough there (my height is 162 cm)
The bathroom is tiny, too, and given its dark green design, it looks rather dirty. I’m not sure if it was, but I found someone’s tooth brush in the shower and some hair in the drainage. Yuck!! Only one big towel was clean though.
All in all, I didn’t expect much from it so neither should you 🤩
CCinyiNikkiThe hotel's location is a bit tucked away. It was my first time visiting Macau with my child, and for this price, it was very affordable, so I didn't have high expectations. Macau has a lot of small streets, and even with navigation, I got lost. The road was so narrow that I initially thought I was going the wrong way. I was a bit surprised when I finally found it after circling back. Check-in is at 3 PM, and they were quite strict about not allowing early check-in. We left our luggage and went out to explore. We checked in around 4 PM. The room size was just right, and honestly, I found nothing wrong with it. It even had windows that could open, which isn't usually the case in Hong Kong. The facilities are on the smaller side, but everything you need is there, and it's quite good. We even managed to fit a large suitcase. They charged a 100 deposit, which was returned on check-out day.
GGuest UserFirst time in Macau 🇲🇴, they require a 300 deposit. It's easy to find and close to popular attractions. The room is super spacious, feels like a 3-4 star ⭐ hotel. Very clean and comfortable.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, very close to Ponte 16. It's a fantastic choice for budget travelers. It's also conveniently located near a market, and the eateries on its second floor offer great sea views. As an added bonus, I even caught a fireworks display!
HhclingIn Macau, Green Old Hostel offers excellent value for money. It's about a 15-minute walk straight from the Gongbei Port. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the bedding is comfortable and spotless. The front desk staff – both the ladies and gentlemen – and the housekeeping team are all very welcoming. They even provided breakfast coupons. Right outside the hotel, there's a bus stop, making it convenient to get anywhere. Every time I visit Macau, Green Old Hostel is my go-to place to stay.
GGuest UserIt was our second stay at this hotel and we are satisfied with it. It is clean, beds are comfortable, there are toiletries, 2 complimentary water bottles, a kettle, mini fridge, there's a TV, too (but this time we couldn't find the remote anywhere in the room.) It goes without saying that there are towels and slippers in the toilet.
I'll book it again for sure. It is also close to the Senado Square and Grand Lisboa Hotel. There are a few bus stops nearby, too.
SSEQUELIt's a nice place to stay when in Macau. One lady receptionist was so accommodating and even helped me where to go and which bus to take. Before checking in and even after checking out at 12 noon, she allowed me to store my luggage at the hotel (free of charge) for a few hours before heading to the airport for a night flight!
QQutaiBaiThe actual room environment is largely consistent with the promotional pictures. The WiFi quality is decent. There are cups and a kettle, but no drinking water is provided. Hand soap is not available. The location is excellent, very close to famous attractions like Grand Lisboa and the Ruins of St. Paul's, all within walking distance.
GGuest UserTraveling with my husband, we took a taxi from Gongbei to Grand Lisboa, then used navigation to walk straight to the hotel. It was quite convenient. The bus stop right outside the hotel is shown in the pictures, making it very easy to get around. If you're not taking a taxi from Gongbei, you can take one of these buses to the 'Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro / Tai Fung' stop (also shown in the pictures). The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from there. I got a lot of useful information from reviews, so I'm also providing detailed info to help everyone plan their trips more easily.
The hotel is very clean, providing disposable toothbrushes and slippers, but no disposable bath towels – regular towels are available.
Some reviews mentioned poor soundproofing, but I didn't experience that. I occasionally heard a child crying in the morning, but perhaps I just had quiet neighbors.
The hotel is very close to major attractions on the peninsula like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church. There's also SaSa and an M8 duty-free shop next to St. Dominic's Church, so you can shop to your heart's content.
