Hostels in Qinghai, China

Xining is a fantastic, vibrant city, and my biggest regret is not staying longer; it deserves way more time than just a quick transit stop thanks to its incredible food scene, night markets, and laid-back vibe. During my visit, I stayed at LETE Hostel, which serves as a solid, character-rich base for exploring the region. The top-floor communal space has real history and soul, beautifully flooded with sunlight, packed with green plants, a massive library, and even three cute resident birds. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly kind-hearted and welcoming, always doing their best to help out. Location-wise, it’s perfect - super convenient for the night markets, local food stalls, and bus stops, plus they offer safe bike storage for cyclists. For the price of a private room, the value and hospitality here are unbeatable, and I would absolutely stay again - and next time, I’ll be giving Xining the full week it deserves.

The hostel boasts an excellent location on Xinghai Road. My taxi driver told me it's a popular street for locals, bustling with street food and restaurants. (After two nights, I can confirm this observation!) I arrived close to 11 PM, and the male owner who checked me in was incredibly helpful, even carrying my heavy luggage to the second floor. He also added me to the hostel's WeChat group, which is great for travel info. The group announcement even has a detailed hostel introduction and a food guide – impressive! As for the room, I booked a 10-bed dorm but was kindly upgraded to a 6-bed dorm – thank you, owner! The room isn't huge, but it's very clean. There's a laundry room on the second floor, and a small open-air balcony where you can hang clothes or just relax (I heard there's a larger, proper drying area on the top floor, but I didn't go, so I can't confirm). The only slight disappointment was the women's communal bathroom on the second floor. It had an unpleasant odor, and the biggest issue was how narrow the individual stalls were. They have Western-style toilets, and the toilets themselves were quite dirty. When using the toilet, your head tends to hit the door because it's so cramped. There's a sign saying it's going to be renovated soon, and I really hope they improve it! There are also two communal toilets on the first floor, which are more spacious and have squat toilets, which are more common for Chinese people. This definitely makes up for the shortcomings of the toilets on the second floor.

Amazing stay. This hotel has comfortable spacious rooms, only a short walk to Rongwo Monastery and local shops and restaurants. Service was great, look forward to staying again in the future.

The location is fantastic, right near Xining Railway Station, making travel super convenient. Even though it's a hostel, the cleanliness is top-notch, and the bedding is spotless. There are plenty of great food options nearby, and the recommendations from the owner were excellent! The owner is really enthusiastic and provided very detailed local tips. For this price in this area, the value for money is unbeatable, perfect for backpackers and students. I'll definitely come back next time!

Xianchu was very comfortable. Ancient city isn’t too far away and a nice riverside to run by. The people are very friendly, and other hostels are clustered in the same street so it’s easy to meet people Owner gave me tour of the city and was willing to hang out with guests

Location: Very close to the night market, within 15 minutes by taxi from Daxin Night Market, the nearest night market can be reached on foot. Facilities: There is a parking lot outside the Youth Hostel, but you have to pay for it. There is no elevator in the Youth Hostel and you need to carry your luggage, but the staff will help. There is a public area in the lobby on the first floor where there is a mahjong table book and a billiard table. You can chat and relax there but it will not be noisy. The table in the room will be a bit old, but it will not affect the infrequent use. Health: The bathroom and bathing place on the second floor are shared, but men and women will be separated. This is better done. There are also aunts who clean it in the morning. Environment: Good atmosphere and good service. There is a wish wall in the stairs on the second floor. I feel that the northwest is the place where literary and artistic youth gather. It is very suitable to come and let go to meet friends and know yourself.

This was my first time staying in a youth hostel and it was a great experience. There are three of us. When we booked the room, we basically looked at a four-person room, but the store was very attentive and reserved a room for us specifically for three people. The store owner is also very nice. Especially that little sister. Love it, love it! ! ! !

The facilities are well-equipped, the heating is very hot and comfortable, clean, clean and tidy, the cleaning staff is very light, the bar service is good and the check-in is fast, the hotel provides free parking, really good hotel! I will choose this hotel in Dulan County in the future!
