Good location. 5 mins walk to the main bus and train stations, but a little far from the central area on foot, about 15-20 mins walk. Close to quite a lot of restaurants and cafés. The room was okay, quite clean overall, but my room was on the 4th floor and there was no elevator, so I had to take the stairs every day. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The wifi could be improved.

Fantastic location, literally right at the Formosa Boulevard Station exit. The ambiance was also very pleasant. Breakfast was included, though I regrettably slept in and missed it – a real pity! Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is before 11 AM.

Very close to Taichung Airport! Uber to the airport takes about 15 minutes (departing at 5 AM). The shower and bedroom have an industrial style—this is a matter of personal preference. There's a washing machine and dryer (both coin-operated), as well as a drying area.

Our stay with MertingMates overall was great, although they didn’t give us the one room for all of us on our first night, it was still great. Thank you so much.

This is the cleanest and most modern hostel I have been to. Super high quality, very private beds and clean baths. The only downside is that if you travel by public transport you need to take an extra bus or boat to get there. The extra 30min travel is in most cases worth it I would say! Staff is also amazing, they gave me free food from their party🫶

Highlight is definitely the common room, very comfy and set up in a way which is ideal for playing games together and getting to know new people. Beds are comfy with curtains and showers and bathrooms are clean. Bicycles are also available, really convenient way to grab a quick snack, since the hostel is admittedly not in super short walking distance to many things. Great place to stay in Yilan.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in my whole 23 years travelling around the world, absolutely outstanding. Spotless, spacious, beautifully designed and decorated, full of anything you could possibly need and more, lovely quiet street, seconds away from the bus stop and minutes walk to Lukang centre. Easy to find, smooth self check-in, very quick and responsive host. The beds, furniture, kitchen, everything is such outstanding quality and so pretty to look at. The rules are respected so the communal living is very pleasant, it's silent at night and social during the day. I regret not having stayed longer.

This hostel was so perfect for me as a solo traveler. It is located directly the Taipei City Mall Exit Y13 and the location in general is great with Taipei Main Station just being nearby. Everything was very clean and the equipment in the bathroom was stunning! I slept in the female dorm and our bath was equipped with two hair straighteners, make-up removers, conditioner, body lotion etc… really enjoyed my time there :))

My plans changed at the last minute, so I made a reservation on the day. Although the check-in time is listed as 11:30 PM, it seems possible to check in late at night using the self-service check-in machine (I'm not sure if this is official; I did contact them via chat on Trip.com beforehand). To use the intercom late at night, just press the one on the left. The hostel facilities were generally kept clean, and I had a comfortable stay. There was also a clearly marked sign about luggage storage, so I think this is a recommended hostel for Japanese people staying in Chiayi who can read Chinese characters.

A little distance (about 1 km) from the train station. . The side facilities are adequate. Walk 150-250 meters to McDonald's and convenience stores. The room smells of wood when the door is opened. good. . There seem to be two doors to enter the gate. I misunderstood the long wait at the other door and no one opened. Can't contact the owner either. Now the phone card only allows Internet access. (It is recommended that the sticker tell you to use another door to find someone or provide an app contact method.) Remember to buy return train tickets in advance. .

HHong Jian WenRoom is cosy and clean! Its located next to Taipei Main Station making it very convenient and accessible to TRA, Metro, Airport MRT, Bus, etc. However, the building is apparently housing multiple hotels / office buildings. So accessing the hotel might make you waits for 5-10mins of lift during peak hours like morning/evening time... Staff Service is great! There's free wifi indicated but I only managed to connect it for a couple of hours during my 4 nights of stay there. The remaining time, my room wifi didnt even appear on the list. Additionally, when i'm on my personal line, the signal is pretty weak too. Overall, acceptable stay.

HHana WinI stayed at 85 Cape Inn in Kaohsiung for two nights and had an amazing experience. The staff offered warm and friendly service, and I was pleasantly upgraded upon arrival. CCP_LeeI write with much disappointment on your lapse in hotel service. I checked in on 3/12/25 and my son caught a cold. I was at the hotel lobby at 1.5hrs earlier requesting for a check in but it’s allowed. My son and I were left to rest n sleep at the lobby. No one came to us or any empathy shown at all. The next day as my son was unwell n resting in the room, there was dragging sounds that can be heard from the room which lasted for about an hour plus. I called the reception and was told that there is no guest staying above my room 701 nor beside us. My hair stands and immediately requested for a change of room. Without empathy, the reception told me that it could housekeeping upstairs. I was even more puzzled n worried why is there housekeeping where there is no one staying above my room n beside my room? The reception mentioned that they will check again even though I requested for a change of room a few times. Finally, a lady who came to ‘help me’ change room. She given me a doubtful expression and asked me if the dragging sound is still there with no empathy. Thankfully after she asked, there are dragging sounds are heard. She was standing in my room to only see me scramble to pack my things with no apology or empathy. To make things worse, she asked me what time I want to have my breakfast the next day. I really do not appreciate the question when I busy packing my things to a new room. I was later told by the in charge for that day named Connie that the staff are trained not to help guest with their luggage. So is this the reason to show no empathy to your guests by asking the guests' breakfast timing? The lady brought me to third floor but I do not feel good at the walkway as super dark and eerie feel and requested for another room. On my final day staying at the hotel, I was given a call half an hour before 11am to ask to check out of the hotel. I had never encounter such thing before. It then brings me the question whereby if your check in time is 6pm and your check out time is 11am, why then there is a need to rush guests out of the hotel? The hotel will have ample 7hrs for housekeeping. Also, if the room beside my room 701 n above unit has no guest staying, why is it that I cannot check in early on the day of arrival on 3/12/25 where my son is not well? Even more shocking to me, during checking out of the hotel, I was given a document saying that I purchased laundry item which I did not. Imagine if it’s a confidential document that the staff reveal to a wrong guest? This is totally not professional. I requested for the names of staff and the email for me to feedback to the management but they are not willing to do it. I was standing at the front counter in the cold wind for 10 minutes requesting for it. It's really ridiculous! Later, the in charge that day named Betty finally succumb to my request but repeat rudely her name to me. It's such a shame that the hotel is such a good location but I will seriously reconsider or even recommend anyone to stay in there again I hope to hear from you on the above mentioned. Thank you.

CChangkongguyan#1For a hotel in Taiwan, the exterior is quite impressive, and the rooms are very large and spacious. They are fully equipped. However, the toilet is quite old, and the flush pressure is so weak that it often doesn't flush properly. Public transport access from the hotel is very convenient, with direct buses to the High-Speed Rail (HSR) station. There are also many local eateries nearby. For under 400 RMB in Taiwan, staying at this hotel offers excellent value for money.

PPyayiWhen I go to Taipei, I always stay at this hotel. The location is very strategic, the staff is friendly, and the facilities meet the needs of solo travelers. Each floor and even each room has a specific theme. Ps, I really like buying drinks across the street from the hotel 😆

GGuest UserIt was unfortunate that when I opened the curtains a little, a lot of dust flew into the room. The room was spacious and comfortable for three people in a four-person room, and it was close to the station so it was easy to get to anywhere. The free breakfast was pretty good too, so the dust was the only thing that bothered me.

GGuest UserFor the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough! The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead. I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall! The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later. The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables. The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.

GGuest UserCharming old hotel which is being renovated nicely. Very close to a super cool night market and metro station. Staff was professional but not the friendliest. Room was clean and fresh except for some areas of the shower- mold and slimy gunk on the door and rubber thresholds. I’m sure just an area that gets overlooked when cleaning. But it was an eyesore and a pretty big turnoff. Wish they’d warn you that because the hotel is under renovations, breakfast is literally just one small sandwich. But the coffee/cocoa/sodas and snacks in the lobby are a nice touch. We were charged ¥200 for every hour we stayed past checkout time. But it was nice to be able to stay later since our departing flight wasn’t until later that night. And like most hotels, they looked after our luggage once we checked out so we could walk around before departing this cool area of Taipei. Would definitely stay at again.
