This hostel is awesome. The staff are really helpful and accommodating. We came a few hours before the check in time (1500 hrs) and we were greeted, checked in and shown somewhere to securely leave our luggage while they prepared our rooms. The room itself (ours was a 10 person) is clean, with clean sheets and a very clean en-suite bathroom/shower. The rooms have air conditioning, however it was very warm at the time of our visit so I think it was struggling. Nonetheless the room felt homely and has a locker to put your valuables/clothes in (like a football locker). The breakfast is a continental breakfast priced at €8. There are many meats and cheeses along with: cereal, bread, fruit, yoghurt, juices, coffee and scrambled eggs. The breakfast is a buffet so you can really make the most of it for €8 per person. The bar area itself is very nicely decorated, and run by very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this hostel to everyone. Wether you’re looking to chill out or party this hostel has everything. Would like to say a huge thanks to Kimom and Giorgos in particular. They made our visit extremely fun and provided many suggestions as to where we should go/ avoid. I have no doubts the rest of the staff are the same, but these guys made it extra special. Thanks dudes!

This hostel is the place where you can stay on a short budget in Munich. Equipment is modern, but service is not high standard, e.g. you need to actively ask for bedsheets at the registration. Cleanliness is ok but not at top-notch level.

So my review is a mixed one, partly positive but deeply dampened by two factors: Firstly, Wombat’s has come to be known as one of if not the party hostel in Munich. That being said - there was no party/pub crawl! (Barring the first night of my stay). This was disappointing, but this was mitigated by the absolutely amazing hosts and guests that I encountered during my stay. I’ll add here that my room was spacious, had a comfy bed and had a great safety system in place for valuables. Now for the second bad bit and this is something I didn’t bring up with them directly as I didn’t want to cause the person I would speak to any distress, but this hostel clearly caters to racists. Above my shower room door (Room 304), there were racial slurs for a number of races and I found it disgusting. How are Black people, white people and Asians supposed to feel comfortable when this what they see in the bathroom? This has to be addressed swiftly or Wombat’s will suffer in the long run.

Super clean and tidy, the whole hostel is cosy and chill. The hostel locates at a modern community for youth, so that you can find everything nearby. Check-in procedures is quick. The only thing is that storing luggage (in a locker) needs 5 Euro.

At about € 21 for one night in the single room and that in Nürnberg (proximity to the fair) you can't expect much and the demands are rather low. But the room was really clean, could well sleep in the bed - what more? I can also see a few limitations (bet lamp and mirror lamp at the washing basin both do not work, partly noise from other rooms, toilets on the hall not always clean). All is not a big problem, for €21 in the single room, I just think the room was really clean.

We were so lucky as our family of 6 got upgraded to an apartment at this wonderful hostel. Everything was new, immaculately clean, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and it was so wonderful to have a bar and lounge downstairs as well where we could hang out at the end of the day. The staff were super nice, and the hostel is in a perfect location just a 10 or 15 minute walk from the beautiful town centre. I would highly recommend this place!

The hostel is very near the Munich hbf. I stayed here for two nights in a 6bed mixed dormitory. There were sheets provided. I like it that there is a lamp per bed so I do not have to turn on the light in the room when I am fixing my things. There is also outlet per bed. I can say that the hostel is quite clean. Downside is there is no bathroom per room. The toilet and bath is common for the whole floor. And they do not have hair dryer (have to bring your own). I also do not understand why our room has no curtains. On the up side, the staff were nice and they have an area downstairs with bar, pool table and darts. This is nice for socialization. Two stubs of free drink was also provided 😉

Well, one hostel had to be worst of my trip. I just wish it hadn't been quite SO bad. I could talk about their deceptive business practices. I could talk about the horrendous customer service. I could talk about the outrageous price. Instead I'll just say this. How on earth does a hostel only open their reception between 6pm and 8pm? You literally have two hours where you're allowed to check-in. Your train arrives at 4? Tough luck, gotta wait. Had a delay and arrived 8:30? Thanks for your money, but you ain't sleeping here. They don't even have a phone number in case any of their current guests have a problem. Lost your key or someone stole your wallet in the middle of the night? Good luck finding a bench to sleep on. They say it's because of covid, but covid exists in all of Europe. Are all the other hostels in Europe also closing at 8? Right, didn't think so. The reality is that this is because the manager is a cheapskate with zero regard for their guests.

The hotel is Unterhaching outside Munich city. The nearest train station is 10 minutes by walk. There is free parking lot. Room is large, clean and comfortable with small kitchen. However, kitchen ware is not in the room. It's at reception with fee. Breakfast is served on the gtound floor. It's very good.

Stayed here as a solo traveler for one night, in a 3 bed dorm. The others were a guy from SG and a girl who didn’t want to talk at all (except to say she had asked for a females only dorm, but won’t talk to reception about it!!). The hostel itself is great. Well located (10 mins walk from railway station and major sights), has a good bar and a 24 hour front desk as well as baggage storage. Dorm had a locker (enough to store one large suitcase but that’s it - bring your own padlock or rent one from hostel), bed, charging point with each bed, pillow and blanket. There are common showers and toilets outside the room on each floor. The room I was in didn’t have much of a view or viewing window, only a small window for ventilation. I bought a bottle of water at 2 AM from front desk and it wasn’t a problem at all! Perhaps my only grouse is that the room didn’t have AC, though I am told this isn’t uncommon in Germany. Without an AC or a ceiling fan, ventilation is a problem and prevents you from sleeping, esp in current EU heat. We had a desk fan but it didn’t do anything for me as I was on top bunk bed (avoid this if possible by reaching early!). This apart, would fully recommend the hostel and would stay there again in Munich.
