the hotel was located a little further away from the downtown area, but it's a walking distance from there & the train station (~12 mins). in a very safe neighbourhood as it's near the hot spring park so there will always be someone around. the room is very big and the hot spring in the room was just a huge huge pamper for myself after a long day exploring / hiking. the staffs were all super friendly and helpful 😊 i didn't order breakfast when i booked the hotel but they still provide very basic breakfast meal for you (they even deliver it to your room so that you can have breakfast in bed 🥺). the food they provide is also v delicious. highly recommended to stay here as it is easily one of my favourite and most memorable hotels!

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location right next to the station was super convenient – highly recommended! Breakfast was included, but the selection was very limited. It was enough to fill up, though, since there are plenty of easy options to eat out. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Beitou.

There was stains on towel, but they replaced after. There wasnt any amenities and its very inconvenient that we had to check in in another building then walk back to this hotel. Especially tugging all the luggages. The building looks rather run down. Breakfast was cold and limited choices. The pros is the spring water in room and the big bath tub! Overall ok if its for a short stay. Just slightly pricey for a night.

The facilities are quite new. Although the bathtub had a slight odor, the water pressure was excellent. However, the bathroom floor lacked anti-slip properties, which felt a bit dangerous. Also, the room's soundproofing wasn't great. Overall, it was still decent. As for service, since it's a self-check-in/no-front-desk design, I couldn't really rate it.

The service at this hotel was outstanding; I absolutely loved it. The breakfast spread offered a huge variety, making it very accommodating for different dietary preferences. They also had family-friendly activities, like the hands-on experience of pounding traditional rice cakes (nian gao).

Everything was good during my stay in this hotel. The lighting of the room was a bit too dim for me, but it wasn't a problem during the day as there was plenty of sunlight from the window. What I like about is that they put a coffee table and an armchair by the window, making it quite enjoyable to do some reading during the day. The location is a okay, around 10-15 minutes walk from the closest MRT station. The way to the station was clear and had a variety of local shops to explore.

The location is excellent. Turn right out of the hotel and it's a one or two-minute walk to a bustling commercial street, and only 6 minutes on foot to the popular Yishunxuan bakery. It's convenient for getting around yet relatively quiet. The hotel exterior is grand, and the lobby offers complimentary drinks and snacks. It shares outdoor hot springs and a bathhouse with Just Sleep. The R floor has a fantastic regular-temperature swimming pool and two hot spring pools with great views. However, I wasn't a fan of the hotel's interior design. While the guest rooms are quite spacious, the layout felt cramped and stuffy. This is because the hot spring tub is located right by the window facing outside, and to ensure privacy, lattices have been installed, making it less open and airy. There's an air purifier in the room. Breakfast is on the 11th floor; the food is decent, but all the windows are completely covered by beige mesh screens. Only a little light can get through, so you have to turn on the lights even during the day, which isn't a great experience. The service attitude was very enthusiastic. The public bathhouse is small and the facilities are average. The outdoor hot springs are suitable for kids to play in. Overall, the value for money is just average.

For this price, I highly recommend this hotel. The location is super convenient, with a convenience store, restaurants, a pharmacy, and the Yishunxuan souvenir shop right downstairs. Tangweigou Hot Spring Park and its market are also nearby, and it's only about a 5-minute walk to Jiaoxi Station. I was very satisfied with the room's cleanliness and the service. The twin room was spacious, with two extra-large double beds that were more than enough for two people – very comfortable. Don't expect much from the welcome drinks and snacks though, haha! We were lucky to encounter a staff member who spoke Cantonese, and she was incredibly helpful. A big thank you to her!

Every detail shows the owner's dedication to running this place. There's also a lounge on the second floor with complimentary coffee and tea. We stayed in the largest room on the 4th floor, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were absolutely stunning. The bathtub was huge and very clean (which is the most important thing!). Although it didn't have a separate shower and toilet, it did have a bidet. The cleaning was truly meticulous; the glass was so spotless I almost walked into it, luckily there were signs. I've included a picture of my favorite corner. The housekeeper was very personable – thumbs up!

I was very satisfied with this hot spring hotel trip. After living in Taiwan for so long, this was my first time experiencing a hot spring with such a rich iron content. The room had a great view, though it was a bit low this time. I think the view would be even better if I could have booked a higher floor. The staff were friendly and the overall facilities were excellent. This stay left me with a wonderful memory.

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

YYI PEII was given a free room upgrade. After parking my car, a shuttle bus took me up the mountain to the main hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, but the soundproofing was a bit poor. The breakfast (set meal) was very rich, and the handmade bread was delicious.

AAbby KuoThe room was clean and spacious, making for a very comfortable stay. The hotel is ideally located in Shuishe, a stop for the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle, offering convenient transportation while still being quiet. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Sun Moon Lake Visitor Center where you can catch the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle and the round-the-lake bus. Since there aren't many shops or food stalls in Shuishe at night, we chose a room package that included dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style at the hotel, allowing us to relax and enjoy, offering great value for money. The in-room bathtub was perfect for a hot soak, which was very convenient. The service was excellent, and both my friend and I were very satisfied. We'd be happy to book this hotel again next time.

GGuest UserBest resort in Taiwan and worth every penny. Highest level of service - it’s like being at a modern luxury ryokan in Japan except everyone speaks Chinese. Room design is brilliant, and one king room fit my family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers with a California king and a separate tatami area. The room has an epic view from every angle the moment you walk in the door and includes a private outdoor onsen connected to your bathroom. I noticed many private in-room onsens in Japan are diluted down, but this was spring fed. The public onsen was huge, extremely well maintained, and included a large walled zen garden with an adjacent sauna and cold plunge. I was lucky enough to experience this area all to myself with one other guest leaving as I arrived and another guest arriving as I was leaving. In China, this onsen would have comfortably accommodated 100 bathers. The spring water is not high in sulfuric content (doesn’t smell like rotten eggs), and the temperature is relatively mild - ideal for my family. Given the limited availability of the hotel online, I was expecting it to be more crowded. I got the sense that room rates are controlled to optimize guest experience, not profit, while staff are trained to ensure that customers never feel like they are being ripped off or “sold”. It seemed there were more staff than guests on site. I originally booked 2 rooms, and some of my family members couldn’t make the trip. We didn’t need the second room, and the staff were very gracious to refund and cancel the second room on the spot. When I’m back in Taiwan or traveling to a place where Hoshinoya does business, I would not hesitate to book again and make a special journey to stay at one of their destination resorts.

GGuest UserThe bathtub in the room was large, and the water was clean and warm, making for a very comfortable soak. The room size was adequate. The hotel's breakfast was just average, mostly boiled vegetables and cold dishes. Meat-eaters might not find it satisfying. The room thoughtfully provided two bottles of water, the bed firmness was just right, and the soundproofing was excellent, leading to a great night's sleep.

MMiyakoChiuThe environment is clean and tidy, with a very Muji-esque style. The soundproofing isn't bad, though there's a bit more noise near the door. The white sulfur hot spring has a good concentration, and the surrounding bathing area is nice. There's also a dedicated outdoor parking lot if you drive up, which I found very convenient. I recommend it to everyone.

SsorloMy family and I stayed at the Yun Estate Hotel this past December, and we had a truly lovely time. Nestled in a quiet area, the hotel offers the perfect sense of serenity and escape from the usual hustle and bustle. The absolute highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the accommodation. The room was incredibly spacious, but the game-changer was the private in-room hot spring. It provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all of us, and the kids absolutely loved splashing around in the warm water. We opted to have breakfast delivered to our room, which was a convenient and nice touch in theory. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful but it looked way better than it tasted, unfortunately. While the meal wasn't bad, the flavor didn't quite match the high standard of the presentation. For the little ones, the hotel is a dream. There is a playroom where they can watch movies, as well as a mini race track where they can drive electric cars. To top it off, the unlimited supply of drinks and snacks was a huge hit with them, making the stay feel extra special. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing retreat.

GGuest UserMy first stay at Yamagata Hotel was fantastic. The two security guards at the entrance were incredibly friendly and welcoming, instantly putting me at ease and lifting my spirits. From the front desk staff to the restaurant servers, housekeeping, and cleaning crew, you could truly feel the meticulous and thoughtful service throughout Yamagata Hotel. The mini-bar and snacks in the room were all complimentary, which was a very generous touch! The hot spring bathtub in every room is huge and incredibly comfortable to soak in – you don't even need to leave the room! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high-quality accommodation experience. It's definitely worth a return visit.
