Positives: Courteous check in Negatives: Cold water, no hot water. The hotel check in staff did not disclose that the water needed to run at least 10 minutes before getting hot. It would have been disclosed upfront at check-in. What a wasting of water to run it for 10 minutes. This will not be acceptable in California, where water is so precious. When the water came out, it was black ink-ish color. Should be a 2.5 star hotel, not 4 star hotel. Hair found on the sheet, but the hotel staff said ”it's clean and hairs do stick to the bedding sheets” after looking at it. Also no blankets. The same hotel staff brought two blankets over, apologized but felt like giving us a lecture and making a speech rather than solving problems for us. Would not recommend this hotel, especially there are many better options nearby. The location is convenient though if you value location over cleanliness and service.From$116

We stayed in a ”king suite.” The room was recently renovated and very pleasant. There's a separate area with a couch and pull out desk. I'd be comfortable staying there to work for the week. I was there with family and the overall facility was extremely nice, with a better than expected breakfast and eating room. The staff was very nice and welcoming. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk to UVA and the downtown historic area.From$135

Beautiful hotel! Front desk very friendly,especially Latasha! My request for a quiet room was granted. The 6th floor in low numbers is good. I stayed 3 nights for work and my room was SPOTLESS! The mattress was firm, my pillows fluffy. I especially loved the slippers because I forgot mine. Upon arrival Franklin helped me with my luggage and on a rainy day my umbrella was in my car. He kindly gave me one. The only drawback was the Valet parking. They're very good at what they do but I wish there was maybe off-site parking. $18 is a bit steep, I walked to work so I paid for my car to be parked. The morning coffee in the lobby was very good. I didn't get a chance to eat at restaurant Ridley but the aroma sure smelled good. I would definitely stay here again. The lobby's decor and seating was very comfortable.From$229

This place was wonderful and had an affordable price for the room! The room was really clean, comfortable and had everything you would need (coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator). Floors are not carpeted which is much nicer and cleaner. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Front desk evening guy was super nice, friendly and hospitable! The breakfast was well stocked and had a good selection of healthy food options. I especially liked the pictures of the cannons in the room which were very unique (see pictures below). That smell when you open the door and you are smacked in the face with the mix of cigarette smoke and deodorizer... In the 30 minutes I sat in there while searching for a new hotel, the smell invaded my face mask. Dark inside, woman (guest) sitting on the curb outside my room smoking, just blech. My husband was sent to the UVA Medical Center for cancer treatment. I stayed here for the week and it was extremely clean, quiet and had the most kind, helpful employees. Positives: Courteous check in Negatives: Cold water, no hot water. The hotel check in staff did not disclose that the water needed to run at least 10 minutes before getting hot. It would have been disclosed upfront at check-in. What a wasting of water to run it for 10 minutes. This will not be acceptable in California, where water is so precious. When the water came out, it was black ink-ish color. Should be a 2.5 star hotel, not 4 star hotel. Hair found on the sheet, but the hotel staff said ”it's clean and hairs do stick to the bedding sheets” after looking at it. Also no blankets. The same hotel staff brought two blankets over, apologized but felt like giving us a lecture and making a speech rather than solving problems for us. Would not recommend this hotel, especially there are many better options nearby. The location is convenient though if you value location over cleanliness and service.From$116

Beautiful hotel! Front desk very friendly,especially Latasha! My request for a quiet room was granted. The 6th floor in low numbers is good. I stayed 3 nights for work and my room was SPOTLESS! The mattress was firm, my pillows fluffy. I especially loved the slippers because I forgot mine. Upon arrival Franklin helped me with my luggage and on a rainy day my umbrella was in my car. He kindly gave me one. The only drawback was the Valet parking. They're very good at what they do but I wish there was maybe off-site parking. $18 is a bit steep, I walked to work so I paid for my car to be parked. The morning coffee in the lobby was very good. I didn't get a chance to eat at restaurant Ridley but the aroma sure smelled good. I would definitely stay here again. The lobby's decor and seating was very comfortable.From$229

The room is super spacious, with two 1.5 meters beds, a double sofa next to it, and a refrigerator is also large. All aspects are very good, comfortable and clean, the only drawback is that the breakfast ends too early at 9 o'clock and can't catch up with breakfast.From$164
