We stayed at the Eden Grand Hotel for two days and absolutely loved it. Although it can be a little tricky to find, the hotel is beautifully located at the edge of the forest, where monkeys leap from tree to tree. The rooms are cozy and well-designed, with a spacious, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and an AC. The service was exceptional. Breakfast is freshly prepared just for you, and the food was fantastic. The hotel also offers its own tuktuk driver, making it easy to visit nearby attractions like Sigiriya Rock. All in all, the Eden Grand Hotel is a charming and peaceful retreat and the Service will try its best to make your stay memorable.

The room facilities and hygiene were fine. But the real selling point is the environment! Built into the mountain, it's truly beautiful! You could spend a whole day just exploring the hotel grounds; it's much more worthwhile than the surrounding attractions!

The location of the hotel is relatively remote, but it feels like a manor inside. The guest room is similar to a single-story villa with a large bed and a small bed, and can accommodate three adults. The room hygiene is good, but the floor drain next to the toilet tends to accumulate water. The mattress of the large bed is moderately soft and hard, and the floor-to-ceiling doors and windows face the garden, giving you a first-class view. Although no monkeys were seen knocking on the door, various warblers and birds were constantly chirping, and the ecological and natural environment was well protected. The location is fantastic, especially if you want to enjoy views of the famous rock right from the pool — it’s truly a highlight of the stay. The buffet is generous, offering a good mix of local and international dishes, so there’s something for everyone. We stayed in one of the bungalows, which were spacious, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. It was a treat to spot different animals around the property, which added a unique charm to the experience. On the downside, the bike rental is significantly overpriced, and it seems that very few guests use them because of this. Additionally, many amenities — even something as basic as extra water — are quite expensive, which takes away slightly from the otherwise enjoyable experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful place in an unbeatable location, with great food and lovely surroundings, but some of the pricing policies could be more guest-friendly.

The facilities are very old, the room smells like old wood, and the air conditioner is very noisy, which affects sleep a bit. The room is divided into two floors, with a single bed in the upper loft and a double bed below. However, the temperature upstairs is always higher than that downstairs, so if there are many people, sleeping upstairs may not be so comfortable.

The price is cheap, the hotel is a few hundred meters away from the bus station, the basic conditions of accommodation can be met, some old but very clean. The car chartered at the hotel went to Anuradpur, and the off-road vehicle was quite funny. His chartered car is really expensive and feels like being stepped on.
