The lake next to the property is beautiful and the owner is really accommodating - he escorted me to the lookout as it is dangerous to go out by yourself in the evening and early morning because of the elephants that may wander through the area. Both him and his wife were very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Sigiriya. The room has a tea and coffee station, a mini fridge, and air conditioning. You are in nature, so if you don’t mind a couple of little frog friends in the bathroom, and you are a bird enthusiast, then this is the place for you.

Ctrip wrote 4 stars, in fact, it feels like a little more than the B&B. The room is very big. By the lake, we saw the hare. The dinner at the hotel was not bad and the service was very good. Is the health still needs to be improved, the bed shelf is still a little dusty.

The hotel is very beautiful and very integrated with nature. It is very close to Dambulla. The Jetwing Group is all plastic-free and has a strong environmental awareness. I like it very much. The check-in speed was a bit slow, but welcome drinks and snacks were provided during the check-in. The room is very large and an extra bed was given. It was very comfortable to stay with 3 adults and 1 child. The dinner buffet was booked starting at 7 o'clock. There were quite a lot of choices and the price was reasonable. The only thing I was not satisfied with was that we were in rooms 220 and 221, which were right above the restaurant, and right above the scrambled eggs + barbecue. The cooking smell was very strong after the restaurant opened, and the buffet was very noisy at night. The noise was not over until the restaurant was cleaned up in the middle of the night, which was not friendly to young children. Families who sleep light must avoid the rooms above the restaurant when booking, especially 220/221

We chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK! Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit. Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay. Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3. Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again.

Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.

A wonderful hotel in a quiet place among the rice fields. Pavlin and the sounds of the jungles. If you like nature and privacy - great! It is necessary to understand that there is no ”civilization” right next to you. In the rooms everything is good, clean and comfortable. Very joyfully accepted. Very delicious breakfast and dinner! Thanks to all the hotel staff) The most important thing for those who drive the car, the road on which Google leads by default, on the side of the lake is bad, with pits, barely passed. On the other hand, the road is even gpuet, but much better. Applied in a photo map.

The location is fantastic, especially if you want to enjoy views of the famous rock right from the pool — it’s truly a highlight of the stay. The buffet is generous, offering a good mix of local and international dishes, so there’s something for everyone. We stayed in one of the bungalows, which were spacious, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. It was a treat to spot different animals around the property, which added a unique charm to the experience. On the downside, the bike rental is significantly overpriced, and it seems that very few guests use them because of this. Additionally, many amenities — even something as basic as extra water — are quite expensive, which takes away slightly from the otherwise enjoyable experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful place in an unbeatable location, with great food and lovely surroundings, but some of the pricing policies could be more guest-friendly.

Everything about the stay here was perfect from start to finish. The hospitality of the staff at this resort is unmatched. They will go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay

The hotel has a very friendly reception and exceptional service staff, which creates a very positive first impression. The pool area is lovely, surrounded by lush vegetation and equipped with hammocks perfect for relaxing in the sun. The path to the bungalows and small apartments is adorned with well-kept gardens, full of life, where you can observe squirrels and birds. This connection with nature makes the stay really special and enjoyable. The interior of the room is incredibly spacious, with two huge and very pretty beds. We appreciated the detail of the flowers that were left for us; it really adds a special and pleasant touch to the stay. It has a small terrace, which is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the surroundings. Spending time there was great. The bathroom is also very spacious. As for breakfast, I think they should improve the Western options a bit to live up to the category of their facilities. It is a small sacrifice that they could easily improve. The only negative detail was the internet connection, which failed us on several occasions. We had to call reception twice to have the connection checked, which was a bit of a pain. However, it should be noted that the hotel is a bit far from the nightlife; you need to walk about 15 minutes along the road to reach the restaurants where you can dine. Despite this, the tranquility of the place makes up for the minor inconvenience. In short, the hotel's ambiance, along with its attention to detail and the natural beauty that surrounds it, all contribute to a memorable experience.
