The Space
Walk through the front door and your eye is immediately pulled outside into the amazing tropical environment. Our villa features a large, lovely and private coral-stone patio and deep plunge pool overlooking a stunning aquamarine canal.
Downstairs is the fully-equipped open-plan kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), a Keurig / drip coffeemaker and everything else you’ll need to prepare a great meal. The kitchen leads to a handy powder room, a formal dining table and living space with a 55-inch Smart TV and big three-seater sofa that folds out into a queen bed.
A carpeted stairway leads upstairs to both bedrooms. One overlooks the canal and features a queen sized bed, flat-screen Smart TV, an ample closet and a full en-suite bathroom. The other bedroom has a queen bed, flat-screen Smart TV and walk-in closet and French doors opening onto a cute covered porch. An additional full bath is off the hallway.
Guest Access
The entire house, private outdoor patio and side yard are yours to enjoy, and there’s plenty of free unassigned parking just outside the villa. Hawks Cay rules limit two vehicles per villa and do not permit trailers in any of the public parking areas. Slips and trailer space can be rented at the Duck Key Marina. Main entry will be via the front door and you will receive a code for the keypad just before you’re due to check in. (You must not, under any circumstances, share this code with anyone.)
Please note that our villa is privately owned, so you won’t have access to any of Hawks Cay’s pools or the Coral Cay kid’s club. But you can still partake in amazing public amenities such as Dolphin Connection, a full-service marina, the resort’s several waterfront restaurants and bars, the Calm Waters Spa and even visit the resort’s fitness center (access available to spa patrons). Water sports enthusiasts can also enjoy parasailing trips and fishing charters and easily rent boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Please note that there is no dockage at the house itself. Please contact either the Hawks Cay Marina or the Duck Key Marina for availability. They're both minutes from the cottage.
Other Things
We will offer a full refund to our guests if a hurricane evacuation is required and/or suggested for our area. However, we will not provide a refund for inclement weather, nor for bad weather associated with hurricanes. If you are concerned about hurricanes ruining your stay, we recommend purchasing additional travel insurance and/or booking during non-hurricane season.
We are year-round residents of the Keys and are always a text or phone call away. Right before your stay, we will send along the Conch Cottage Manual, which will contain Allegra and Michael’s telephone numbers, as well as additional emergency numbers, lists of things to do and other helpful information.

There are no groceries stores in Duck Key. The closest market is a small market at Grassy Key Marina (2.5 miles south) and Publix in Marathon ( 11 miles south). Instacart is available for groceries to be delivered directly to the villa. Recommendation is to shop at Publix Supermarket in Marathon/Islamorada on your way to Duck key. Also, the Trading Post in Islamorada is a full-service deli and grocery store and it is opened 24 hours a day.
To prepare for your Keys pursuits, a local land line phone and welcome brochure are at your fingertips. The phone may be used to make calls to anywhere in the US at no charge.

I honestly don’t ever write reviews but after our first day here I felt compelled too after all the negative reviews I had previously read before my arrival. We’ve had an amazing experience so far. We arrived to check in about 3pm (only an hour early) upon arrival at check I was told our room wasn’t ready yet but they would call me as soon as it was. Within the time it took to walk out to the car and pull into the parking lot I received a phone call saying the room was ready. The bell service was amazing. The gentleman who helped me with my 2 kids was so nice and helpful. He brought us right to our room with our stuff. All the staff here is wearing masks and everyone else has to keep their mask on in the lobby and indoors except for in the pool area or while seated eating. We spent the afternoon at the pool. We had no problem getting chairs. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant Angler and Ale on the property. We took the tram over there which my kids enjoyed very much! The food at the restaurant was delicious! When we got back to the room I noticed the black out curtain wasn’t staying full closed I called down to the front desk and within 5-10 minutes the maintenance man showed up to fix it for us!! We are having the best time and I can’t wait to enjoy the rest of the weekend here!! Highly recommend. Don’t believe everything you read. I had read the reviews for this hotel on several websites before booking and decided to go with them because they were all good. This was my 60th birthday trip and when we got there this place looked just like their website. Beautiful Old style like you’ll never get to experience ever again.
We got a room upgrade to room on the Water. Room #1. There’s nothing fancy about them, but I think that’s what adds to the charm of the hotel but everything in the room is nice, comfortable, clean and works. Patio leads right outside to the water where you can sit on your deck or walk along the pier and look at the boats, we had a boat docked in front of our room. I loved watching the people getting ready to go out. I joked and told them I was happy letting them borrow my boat for the day. We enjoyed our daily Pelican visitors who sat on the post every evening and we enjoyed the Rooster every morning when we sat outside enjoying our ice tea. The pool is very nice, I dipped my foot in and it was a little chilly. The beach area wasn’t much of a beach in my opinion. But it still adds to the charm. Lisa and Tammy were very nice and friendly and we had no problems checking in or any issues whatsoever with our stay. There is a food truck on site we ate at 1st night, because we drove all day and it was real foggy by the time we were going to leave to go eat in Marathon. I had the Crab pizza and Brian had the Ham pizza. $15.00 each and big for one person if your hungry. I didn’t eat all of mine. lol. But very good. The hotel just changed ownership and are doing upgrades and some renovations, so at times while we were there it was a little noisy but nothing we couldn’t deal with. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to the Keys. Because you’re not going to get this Old Style feel staying right on the water for much longer any where else especially for these prices. I honestly don’t ever write reviews but after our first day here I felt compelled too after all the negative reviews I had previously read before my arrival. We’ve had an amazing experience so far. We arrived to check in about 3pm (only an hour early) upon arrival at check I was told our room wasn’t ready yet but they would call me as soon as it was. Within the time it took to walk out to the car and pull into the parking lot I received a phone call saying the room was ready. The bell service was amazing. The gentleman who helped me with my 2 kids was so nice and helpful. He brought us right to our room with our stuff. All the staff here is wearing masks and everyone else has to keep their mask on in the lobby and indoors except for in the pool area or while seated eating. We spent the afternoon at the pool. We had no problem getting chairs. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant Angler and Ale on the property. We took the tram over there which my kids enjoyed very much! The food at the restaurant was delicious! When we got back to the room I noticed the black out curtain wasn’t staying full closed I called down to the front desk and within 5-10 minutes the maintenance man showed up to fix it for us!! We are having the best time and I can’t wait to enjoy the rest of the weekend here!! Highly recommend. Don’t believe everything you read. I had read the reviews for this hotel on several websites before booking and decided to go with them because they were all good. This was my 60th birthday trip and when we got there this place looked just like their website. Beautiful Old style like you’ll never get to experience ever again.
We got a room upgrade to room on the Water. Room #1. There’s nothing fancy about them, but I think that’s what adds to the charm of the hotel but everything in the room is nice, comfortable, clean and works. Patio leads right outside to the water where you can sit on your deck or walk along the pier and look at the boats, we had a boat docked in front of our room. I loved watching the people getting ready to go out. I joked and told them I was happy letting them borrow my boat for the day. We enjoyed our daily Pelican visitors who sat on the post every evening and we enjoyed the Rooster every morning when we sat outside enjoying our ice tea. The pool is very nice, I dipped my foot in and it was a little chilly. The beach area wasn’t much of a beach in my opinion. But it still adds to the charm. Lisa and Tammy were very nice and friendly and we had no problems checking in or any issues whatsoever with our stay. There is a food truck on site we ate at 1st night, because we drove all day and it was real foggy by the time we were going to leave to go eat in Marathon. I had the Crab pizza and Brian had the Ham pizza. $15.00 each and big for one person if your hungry. I didn’t eat all of mine. lol. But very good. The hotel just changed ownership and are doing upgrades and some renovations, so at times while we were there it was a little noisy but nothing we couldn’t deal with. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to the Keys. Because you’re not going to get this Old Style feel staying right on the water for much longer any where else especially for these prices. Guest UserI honestly don’t ever write reviews but after our first day here I felt compelled too after all the negative reviews I had previously read before my arrival. We’ve had an amazing experience so far. We arrived to check in about 3pm (only an hour early) upon arrival at check I was told our room wasn’t ready yet but they would call me as soon as it was. Within the time it took to walk out to the car and pull into the parking lot I received a phone call saying the room was ready. The bell service was amazing. The gentleman who helped me with my 2 kids was so nice and helpful. He brought us right to our room with our stuff. All the staff here is wearing masks and everyone else has to keep their mask on in the lobby and indoors except for in the pool area or while seated eating. We spent the afternoon at the pool. We had no problem getting chairs. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant Angler and Ale on the property. We took the tram over there which my kids enjoyed very much! The food at the restaurant was delicious! When we got back to the room I noticed the black out curtain wasn’t staying full closed I called down to the front desk and within 5-10 minutes the maintenance man showed up to fix it for us!! We are having the best time and I can’t wait to enjoy the rest of the weekend here!! Highly recommend. Don’t believe everything you read. Definitely come and experience this gorgeous place for yourself!!
