Excellent location, modern and well equipped apartment. The apartment is a couple of minutes walk from the main hotel that has a fabulous roof top bar called Above with great city views at night. Friendly reception staff on arrival and departure . Apartment was clean and comfortable with drinks and snacks available to purchase at a small charge . Beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep. Only negative was that some aspects looked a bit tired - for example the fabric on the throws on the beds was clicked , and the table and doors and skirting boards were a bit scratched . Overall a great stay though

Our third stay in 12 months. We enjoy the location of this hotel, so handy for bars and restaurants; no taxis required! The breakfast is also amazing, loads of choice, food is hot and fresh, tables always clean and staff are well organised and friendly. The beds are really comfortable, and shower has always been good, and rooms/linen always clean. We like the ice bucket provided and machine in the hall, the complimentary water and having robes and slippers in the room. Two small points that weren't great were as follows. We've never yet had a working fridge in our room. Not sure whether this is a service no longer offered for some reason, if there's a way to switch it on/request it to be on or if we're just unlucky and always get one that doesn't work! Not a major problem, just would be nice to have, or take it away so we don't think it should be working. The other point is just the general decor, as in marked/damaged paintwork, tired fittings, and in this bathroom, damp affecting the grout and shower cubicle fittings plus a big crack in the sink. More wear and tear than cleanliness, and hopefully general freshen up/ refurb is on the cards soon. Still a great hotel in a great location, we'll be back!

Great location close to train station. Very clean modern hotel at a good price. Nice pretty chicks at the reception. Very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Many attractions near the hotel. Snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine. There are code keys everywhere, which means that outsiders have limited opportunities to roam around the hotel. The only downside turned out to be that a room with a window means a room with a window to other windows from which other residents were staring.

Well what a little gem of a Hotel. Beautiful location right next to the Castle and near the Quayside. We had a lovely stay, the Staff were fantastic! So helpful and polite and friendly and very very professional. We felt very special and looked after. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our room was lovely. We didn't have any meals there except for breakfast which was tasty and there was plenty of options, the Staff in there again were very lovely and attentive. Saying all this a couple of little niggles the Hotel was so hot! To be fair the weather was beautiful when we were there but there is no air conditioning in the building. I do appreciate it is an older building and it's not always possible to install Air Con Units but a few fans scattered around would have made it a bit more bearable in the public areas . There was a fan provided in our bedroom which was very welcome as the sun facing the windows all day ! We also found the bed not very comfortable, the mattress was too hard for our liking but then this may suit other people so it's not a criticism really of the Hotel more our preference to have a softer mattress. All in all we Would definitely go back to this hotel but I think I would go in the colder months.

Excellent stay, perfect location for Utilita Arena to watch Peter Kay. Great sized room, nice and clean, reception staff very helpful but definitely go to Ginos restaurant in the hotel, it was amazing for dinner. Breakfast was a let down however, everything gets taken away at 10am, coffee machine was playing up so every option was cold due to the milk pump apparently! Check out is not until 12pm so why so strict on breakfast closing right on 10am - I do understand the lunch service kitchen staff might have to start perhaps? Definitely recommend and will stay again - and go back to Ginos!!

Not bad, a little far from the train station, but close to the river, there are many bars. But the hotel is a bit old. There is a good English breakfast shop and ice cream shop nearby. Prosperity, democracy, civilization, and harmony are the value goals at the national level; freedom, equality, justice, and the rule of law are the value orientations at the social level; patriotism, dedication, integrity, and friendliness are the value criteria at the individual citizen level; Basic content of core values

We stayed at the hotel because we went to see a stand up comedian in Newcastle that night and thought it would be nice not to have to drive home afterwards . Cannot best the location!!!! Trolley push out of the doors and into the hotel ( or vice versa). No worry about taxi or transfer. Restaurant OK but suffers from the same ailment of so many…. Blinking awful coffee!!!! Also those awful mugs …. I have said before….. I have taken to bringing my own decent mug to drink out of. I ate in the bar last time - similar menu ( same prices) but no booking of a table required. Just got to put up with TV with constant noise or sport…… They let me leave my luggage while I drop off or pick up a hire car…. About 10 minutes walk away. Always my first choice.

The room was basic but spotlessly clean, as were the toilets & showers. The bed was very comfortable & the heating was good, and it wasn't as noisy as I expected. The staff were friendly & very helpful too. This was my first time staying at the Albatross Hostel as I was going the Darren Hayes concert at the O2 City Hall & it wasn't too far from the venue. I would recommend this hostel to anyone & would definitely stay there again.

If it is on the front, the scenery outside the window is very good. You can see the park hill designed by famous architects. The location is very convenient. Tram bus is very convenient for walking. Choosing here is also just one stop from the train station tram. I used to stay at this hotel for one night and I feel that I can book it here, but this time I feel very average. But there are very few options in Sheffield city centre. The waiters at the front desk of the hotel are very enthusiastic and some have a cold attitude. The most unhappy thing about this trip was housekeeping. The first day was not cleaned. I didn't clean it the next day. I saw that she was very polite and she helped clean it. The woman said that she went home after more than the time, she only worked for a while. When I checked out, my diarrhea was ten minutes late, and the cleaner directly made a dissatisfied voice to me. I was really angry. I didn't complain if I didn't clean my room. The front desk said she would tell her to clean but she did not. As for seeing that ibis will compensate for the breakfast offer, this is not at all. Really the first to see such a housekeeping. Ibis is also a well-known brand. Although the overall situation did not feel very bad, but 4.6 is a bit high.

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary by visiting somewhere new …. We were not disappointed in the least by our choice. The moment we entered reception we were warmly greeted by Holly and she also escorted us to The Apartment suite we had booked. Fabulous room and terrace area with amazing views which set the tone for our 3 day stay. In fact, a number of staff are worth a mention from the cleaning team, breakfast staff and restaurant staff ( Lyndsey, Katy and Rachael) Thank you all for your friendly hospitality 👍👍

Overall our stay was quite good. A few notes: Easy walk from train station Allows late check ins - we arrived late & had arranged with the front desk ahead - they sent very detailed directions to pick up the keys - very clear and worked well!! (Reception only open day hours but communication was excellent) Suite was well appointed - kitchen, fridge, microwave We had 2 bedroom suite - 2 full bathrooms & 2 bedrooms (each had a double bed) The building is dated/older but the suites were clean. No complaints at all. Comfy beds & pillows. Linens were quite pleasant & towels fluffy soft (literally the towels were so fluffy we were all talking about it!) There is a lift/elevator - great for those with luggage. Washing machine - fantastic to have a washer when traveling with a family!! (Note no dryer- just a washer) Considerations: No air conditioning so we opened the windows at night. This meant a lot of noise - a lot. Each night there were people screaming, bottles smashing and sirens. It bothered the light sleepers, others were unfazed. I wouldn’t say the area is “bad” or questionable at all- just there is a lot of nightlife and the noise of which travels straight up into the suite.

This was a fabulous stay All Staff are a credit to the hotel, with spacious rooms, cleanliness top notch, everything you could need and require in your room, so many items that you would not even realise you would need was in the room, I liked the fact had a small functioning kitchen with hob and dishwasher, a recliner sofa to watch TV from, even tissue on the coffee table, instructions for the appliciances, cleaning products and safe... When I say they have thought of Everything I meant it! It like home from home. The Rooms were comfortable, beds were a great size and so comfortable, very clean and fresh linens, big bathroom, good view from the floor we stayed on, breakfast was buffet style but well thought out and food fresh and hot, staff attendance was good ratio and they were attentive and very cheerful and helpful, also parking was a good price as well. I was also impressed with the fact of small details like a 24hr pantry shop which perfect for family guests, quieter seating/dining area for guests who don't have children, children area, radio on for a cheerful breakfast experience. Lots of little details and extras is what made our stay a good one, we will definitely use the hotel again, 1 million percent I'd recommend this hotel to others as well, keep doing what you do because your smashing it! And all at a good fair price as well!! A must try!

Visited recently to see family in the area. Car parking available, guests get complimentary parking but you need to put your car details into a tablet on the reception desk. Staff at reception were friendly, courteous and helpful. We ate in Fratellos in the evening, it was busy with lots of tables occupied but our party were accommodated even though we hadn’t made a reservation. Plenty of choice and everyone was catered for. I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

This room type is relatively large, but the facilities are old and the mattress is damaged. There is a full-length mirror facing the bed, which is a big taboo for Chinese people. There is no refrigerator in the room, and there is no laundry room in the hotel. There is laundry service but the price is Expensive and not worth it. This time I want to talk about Ctrip, which I have always trusted so much. This is just an ordinary budget hotel, but the asking price is twice as expensive as Dianping.com. Ctrip, which I trust so much, made a reservation in a hurry without looking at other platforms. , you will have to shop around before placing an order in the future😤😤

Had a lovely stay but felt let down by several issues. Check in was nice & smooth with friendly staff. We had upgraded our room to a superior & it was lovely & clean but had very little storage, especially the bathroom. This wouldn’t have been a problem for 1 night but we stayed 4. The views from the floor to ceiling window were superb. Room servicing appears to have been stopped throughout the country now since covid & if that is to continue then I would suggest larger bins are provided. Surely over a 4 night stay it is not unreasonable to have the room serviced at least once. Our “king size” bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together with the ever present gap in the middle. The toilet paper was cheap & nasty & out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, adequate & reasonable. The drinks menu said there was a “guest ale” & to enquire at the bar to see what is was & the price. When I asked what the “guest ale” was I was told it was CIDER. Location is no more than a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Overall we had a vey enjoyable stay & would definitely stop again.

This hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

Not knowing the area, I booked via Booking.com purely on availability/convenience, but nearly didn’t looking at the photos - I expected a bog standard, dated hotel. On arrival, I was genuinely shocked by the standard - it is absolutely superb. A very warm welcome and efficient check in. The reception and corridors are clean and tidy, and the 2 rooms I’ve been in are decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Bar next door is lively, but I’ve not had the opportunity to try any food as yet. WiFi actually works, and there is ample free parking. I won’t be looking anywhere else for future visits in the area.

We would not hesitate to recommend this City Centre hotel. The rooms are not the biggest but more than enough space. The staff here are amazing. They are a credit to the chain. They deal with any problems quickly and most professionally. Thanks to them we had the most enjoyable stay…..thank you
