I was really surprised when I entered the room. The room is super large, small suite, with a large sofa, it is suitable for 5 people, the only small regret is that the air conditioner is old-fashioned, slow in response, and a bit noisy.

When I visited Yale University, I stayed for one night, not far from Yale University, and the transportation was convenient. The free parking lot was sufficient. Breakfast is good in a similar hotel.

Main room was recently updated and bed was comfortable. The bathroom on the other hand was horrendous. Mold & Mildew throughout. Toilet seat was broken. I did notify hotel staff and was told nothing could be done because they were totally booked. In fairness, my friends were very pleased with their room. I would give it one more chance in the near future.

I rarely write these reviews, for I really don't anyone staying in my favorite Hotels except for, well, me and mine and those that work there. But, again, sheer decency forces me to say, their doing a hellava job here in Pandemic Hoteleiry. The people here are fantastic, and when they say they are going to get the job done, you can bank on it. First I get the incomparable Gazmend on the Front Desk by phone at about Dawn, and he assures me that he will get me into a room as soon after my 9:00 AM arrival in New Haven, and when Gazment says it, it gets done: I was in my room by 11:30, after a very nice lunch at Pop's (suggested, of course, by....) Place some ten minute walk from the Hotel, where, of course, my luggage was guarded by,, I also must mention the ubiquitous and charming Ms. M of the morning's 6 - 10 breackfast cafe: Manager, Hostess, Server and gladsome smile in the early light. Ms. M's equal will only be found in Ric of Casablanca's Cafe Americaine, or, even, Beauty And The Beast's celebrated Luniere - she is the conductor who orchestrates your Breakfast Experience. Man, I hope New Haven proves the equal of the Hotel, for then it will be a great trip. From New Haven, this is Michael Pollens

No. Unless you’re a one night stayer, this hotel will not work well for road warriors. No, microwaves in rooms. Not even an option to get one from the lobby. I’m done paying $50 for a microwave for my stays which I have to buy without reimbursement. No status recognition. What’s the point of chain loyalty if the hotel won’t recognize your loyalty. I don’t have a problem with Marriott but since Covid happen Hilton doesn’t seem to care much about my loyalty, it’s common now. Road warriors live in hotels. We want to come back to the room and not be bothered after working some 14-16 hour days sometimes for two weeks straight with no days off. I’m done giving hotels the benefit of a doubt when staying. Living on the road for 10 years I recognize better hotels compared to poor ones. Listen I understand people on vacation piss everyone off and are constantly unprepared for everything, always getting in the way and lost. Constantly are rude to the front desk and trash rooms. Road warriors aren’t typical like this from my experience with my multiple crew members. All I ask for a hotel is to have accommodations for road warriors to go about our business and limit unprepared vacationer interactions. Having to make multiple trips to the lobby to use a common microwave is frustrating.

We stayed this past weekend for one night (thankfully) and while entering the hotel front doors we were suddenly greeted by a huge construction site upon arrival. Now I understand properties update but this was over the top and the property should shut down to fully complete the renovations rather than continue to book without disclosing the information during the reservation process. This is not a good business practice and fair to consumers. First, the major renovations should be noted prior to booking as it is throughout the whole hotel and is causing major hazards and multiple inconveniences throughout the stay including plastic sheets hanging throughout the halls causing confusion as to where to go and trouble navigating with children and luggage, wet paint in many areas, carpeting taped down or ripped up and rolled in the middle of the hallway, high scaffolds blocking entrances, loud construction tools being used, dust flying throughout the hotel, no front check in area, no convenience shop to purchase drinks etc. Since we had already paid and it was after 4:00 we had no other option but to stay. We hoped our rooms would be a different story than what we encountered in the lobby and halls. When we entered the two rooms we booked we noticed they were outdated, however knowing now they were being renovated we gave them the benefit of the doubt. However while we were in the rooms we noticed many things completely unacceptable, such as lights not working (including the lights right next to the door when you entered), black mold in the high corners of the bathroom, food left from previous guests under the ottoman (which means they did not move them while cleaning), no soap left in the bathroom soap dispenser, broken shower doors and shower head, hair in corners of the bathroom and shower area, paint peeling and chipped off of the wall and the AC unit not cooling with a mildew smell. We also heard people yelling out by the pool area overnight and noticed one person sleeping out in the chairs. Needless to say we barley slept and left as early as possible the next day. While we were leaving the front desk staff or person sitting down looking at a phone near what would be the area of a front desk barley even looked up to acknowledge us all packed up early and checking out. Never once did they apologize for any issues that were clearly going on at their hotel. Be aware of the positive reviews on their main site and other sites and if you do need to book a room, clearly ask about their renovation status.

This hotel looks promising when you walk in, with high ceilings, spacious, airy common areas, and subtly modernistic décor. First, the good points about my week-long stay: the staff was friendly, check-in was fast, the room was clean, and it was nice to have daily housekeeping, which I had started to think was a relic of the past. I also liked the spaciousness of the suite I was given, with its vaulted ceiling and full kitchen area with sink, microwave, dishwasher and stand-up refrigerator--downright luxurious! The included breakfast every day was welcome--I especially enjoyed the plentiful fresh fruit bar. How often do you see fresh (not frozen) berries at a hotel breakfast bar? However, what started as minor annoyances became major gripes as the week went on. Some lights in the room didn't work, and a few switches appeared to be dummies, controlling nothing. The bathroom venting fan ran continuously and loudly, so much so that I had to keep the door shut. When I complained maintenance staff did come to look at it but afterward I still couldn't turn it off, though in fairness it did seem somewhat quieter--maybe it's not supposed to be switched off? Which leads me to the biggest complaint of all, the noise. I was assigned a room on the ground floor in a well trafficked corridor, adjacent to a door that led outside to the parking lot. Every time someone came in that door or entered or left one a nearby room I would hear a loud ”thunk!” as a heavy latch fell into place. I could actually feel the room wall shake every time this happened. If an establishment is going to install doors that swing shut so hard, the acoustic treatment of all the walls needs to be a lot better. By the end of the week I was desperate for some uninterrupted sleep, and couldn't even use the earplugs I had brought with me because housekeeping had thrown them away one morning. If I were ever to try this place again (not sure I will) I would make sure I got a room not on the ground floor and way off in a corner somewhere.
