We had a fantastic stay at Fushifaru, a perfect, small island with exceptionally friendly staff. The excursion to the sand bank where we had a private picnic was very special. We enjoyed various treatments at the spa - all very good. Yen, our personal rep, was very accommodating without being intrusive - we highly recommend her private sunset yoga sessions! We were sceptical before going about an evening buffet service but were very impressed by the high quality of the food and the attentive service. A special thanks to chefs Asanka and Ali for going the extra mile, making us their own home style curries(Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) and to the lovely Vimal for his excellent service and open smile. So why 4 stars rather than 5??...the management has teamed up with an Italian package holiday group presumably under contract to fill a certain number of rooms, complete with their own in house holiday reps. We understand that this takes the pressure off from selling the rooms independently however the resort runs the risk of losing it’s own identity. During our stay there were a few large groups of Italians who travelled together with their families, being a group they tended to congregate together thus spoiling the peace and quiet which I think most guests to the Maldives are seeking, rather than a ‘club med’ atmosphere. Before arriving at Fushifaru we had read a couple of trip advisor reviews which mentioned this dilemma but had hoped it wouldn’t be as obvious. Despite this one negative point we would recommend the resort and we will definitely consider returning

We spent an excellent week at Kanuhura on a Retreat Pool Villa sunrise side. The villa was spacious with a ver pleasing outdoor pool. It also has added privacy compared to other lower entry level beach villas, therefore being an excellent option for couples. The only critique I'd point out is with regards to maintenance: the thatched parasol was in a poor state (we've seen others like that too, as well as some of the beach villas roofs which looked very poorly) .. and lastly the ripped faux-leather sofa, on the pergula.. when you're in such premium villa this is something that shouldn't happen. We advised Rooms and our host and they "noted it". The majority of the staff - rooms and restaurants predominantly - are very professional and offer great customer service, they really look after you very well and are restless. Food is also excellent and the 3 restaurants available certainly meet everyone's expectations. I also had to be seen by Dr Ahmed and he was 10/10, thank you! The real gem is undoubtedly the Jehunuhura and Masleggihura deserted islands. We had a lovely lunch at Jehunuhura and we really enjoyed it although I'd again point out some issues with maintenance... at Masleggihura we had the best experience, a lovely light lunch and the island all for ourself - the most amazing lagoon and quietness. Highly recommended and I hope Kanuhura maintains it as is or perhaps goes the extra mile as Coco Palm did and allows guests to stay in the island overnight... just an idea :-) we also took a private speedboat excursion for 3 hours and the snorkeling was very good and the crew professional. The spa looks really impressive and certainly kept to high standards. As of today we'd most likely rank Kanuhura as our 3rd most preferred island in the Maldives because it's a very solid and safe option for a quasi-Maldives experience.

This was our 4th visit to Kuredu and though I thought it couldn't get any better, it did. We had booked with friends the Sangu Water Villas for 2 nights & Jacuzzi Beach Villa for 5. We were fortunate to be upgraded to remain in the water villas for the week. Ibrahim kept our villa spotless every day and night, clean towels and bed linen regularly changed. Waters always supplied and mini bar well maintained. Faultless so thank you. Chef Paul does an incredible job in keeping such a variety of wonderful fresh dishes that every meal is a culinary delight. I enjoyed eating at Sangu more than Koamas because you were able to sit outside in the mornings and evenings so was particularly special to be al fresco. Our dedicated waiter, Alif Ali is a very special young man. He is very personable, professional with a good sense of humour and was very engaging. A great ambassador for Kuredu. We were joined by friends who were visiting Kuredu for the first time and they too fell in love with this beautiful island and snorkelled for the first time. The house reef with its incredible variety of fish is simply stunning. We were lucky to swim with huge rays, sharks, turtles as well as the very varied fish in this incredible ocean. White Night is always a good party night and was helped by the great service from Siraj who always served us with a smile and with great efficiency. Our trip this time was even more memorable perhaps due to the fact it demonstrated the commitment of this hotel to its customers and their wellbeing and enjoyment of their stay. We were informed the day before we were due to leave that the hotel was now in quarantine so no flights out or in due to an Italian that had visited and infected 4 staff with the Coronavirus. The hotel dealt with this issue incredibly quickly and safely ensuring all tourists were protected to the best of their ability. As far as I am aware, no tourists were infected. Unlike the experience of those quarantined on the ship in Japan in awful conditions, we continued to be treated royally. The staff, despite the fact, their peak season was being affected, they were still full of smiles and warmth and was most definitely business as usual. You would not have known that there was anything amiss. Incredible resilience and the management should be very proud of the team and how they have conducted themselves throughout this period, I hope that guests will continue to visit soon as it really is the best place to be in the world, I would recommend Sangu Water Villa 507 which is by pier 1 as you can walk through to the house reef and the other beach quickly.Definitely worth paying the extra, I didn't think I would want to be in the Water Villas as much as Jacuzzi Beach Villas but now I think they are the best.

Hurawalhi is without a doubt a 5 star resort in every way! Once you land in Male go through arrivals your 5 star customer service experience with Hurawalhi starts! A staff member will be there waiting to take you to the seaplane check in then onto the seaplane lounge. You will land at the sister island where your host will be waiting to take you on a 5 min speedboat journey to Hurawalhi. From the moment you step foot on the island you have this wow dreams do come true feeling. The island is beautiful and well kept at all times. We stayed in a water villa with a pool which is spacious, clean and has everything you need. Mini bar has quality refreshments , spirits, wine , soft drinks and snacks. The bed is so comfortable it’s impossible not to have a great nights sleep. Bathroom is a good size and has lovely shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and after sun. Sitting outside on the comfy sofa you have amazing views and if you get up early enough 7/8am you maybe lucky enough to see the Dolphins swimming by. Food and drink throughout the resort is 5 star quality with plenty of variety . You will never go hungry or thirsty. If you do have dietary requirements just speak to the staff they will go out of their way to make sure your happy. 5.8 restaurant is a must, having a wonderful meal with lovely wine under water is an experience not to be missed. My husband dived everyday, the dive team are so professional, friendly and very keen to make sure you see as much as possible. The water sports centre has loads for you to experience so worth going to see them. Spa oh my favourite the whole experience will destress you and leave you floating back to your room feeling like a new person. They have some amazing products you can purchase . There are so many things I have probably missed out so the best way to see everything that goes on to match your needs is to download the Hurawalhi app or go onto the website were you will get all the in-depth information you need. The staff at Hurawalhi are the most professional, friendly and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. You really can’t single out and name individuals as they all genuinely care and go out of their way to make sure you have a WOW experience. Can’t wait to return

We have just returned from our 12 night stay in Komandoo, we can only give this island a wonderful review. We knew going that this was not going to be a usual holiday, as the day we were leaving the UK ramped up its response to Covid-19 and daily checking the Maldivian government website checking we would be allowed entry made for an uncertain time anyway. So anyway, landed into Male and shown into the lounge, free tee, coffee and soft drinks while you wait for your sea plane departure, lovely and air conditioned which is a lovely welcome when you’ve melted in the arrivals hall! Check in on the island is swift and met with a lovely drinks and ice cream, already on a winner here, and shown to your room and round the island quickly. We stayed in a beach bungalow, bathroom was probably one of the smaller ones we’ve had in the terms of open air bathrooms in Maldives, but think this is the only ‘negative’ I can find. The rooms are clean, comfy and if your spending time in your room you are not doing the Maldives right anyway! The minibar is included in all inclusive so plenty of refreshments and really nothing bad to say here. We were coral 5 on the sunset side, lovely little room with a good bit of beach outside. All the champions on the island are incredible, go out of their way to help, make your stay comfortable and do what they can to ensure you enjoy your holiday. Munaaz, Vinod, in general all the staff and the management team are incredible here and really showed their excellence with the ever changing coved situation. We started out in the buffet restaurant, probably the smallest selection of food going from previous islands, but everything was cooked perfectly and always found something to eat, and when it came to the last few days when there was only 12 of us left on the island we had all 3 meals in the Aqua restaurant, where they went above and beyond with food, it was all lovely. Reef, both side of island good snorkelling, sunset side saw consistently more than sunrise side. Rays, sharks and turtles most days and even one day had a manta on the house reef! I can’t really say much that others haven’t said before me, but Komandoo seem to treat their champions really well, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. I truly hope in this awful worldwide situation you all remain safe and well as do all your families, and I’m fairly confident in writing, Komandoo, we will return, mainly so we can see what the island is like with more than 40 people on it! Thank you Komandoo for everything to ensure our safety over our stay. Your dedication was something spectacular and truly appreciated. X

We stayed on Innahura 1/3-24/3 , we had a sunset villa which was in stunning location. The room was kept tidy , and cleaned twice a day . The rooms are very well set out and spacious . We had our holiday cut short by 6 days due to the coronavirus, we were well cared for by the staff , daily checks by the doctor . Our hero was Abdull (apologies if name wrong ) we felt we were left to get on with it by Letsgo2 , only 1 member of staff was helpful , He put at ease as he arranged our early flight home within an hour of asking for help , many thanks . The staff were excellent always happy to have a chat , attentive and soon remembered your choice of drink . The food was excellent such a varied choice and of a very good quality. Bar staff happy to talk to you and made you feel special . We particularly liked a drink in Olhu bar after dinner it was a very relaxed bar overlooking the ocean and was a very popular place to go . During the day we would have a walk over to Loabi island it was nice to just go over and look back at the island We were lucky enough to be there fo the first year anniversary of the island , it was an amazing night . The dive school did an amazing job Ludwig and his team had a few challenges as our holiday went on but got through them with first class professionalism. The island is kept clean by the amazing team of ladies who daily sweep the island and the gardeners , always happy to have a word . Even thou at times our holiday was quite stressful due to the virus and uncertainty of things , we tried to go with and chill . Would we go back , certainly would we had an amazing time overall Innahura is a small , laid back friendly island with a lot going for it .See you soon K and L

I had a wonderful 6-night stay at Bliss with my parents. We stayed in a family suite, which was two adjacent rooms with an internal door that could be opened to connect them. Overall, Bliss offered an great location with delicious food and excellent service. For arrival, we utilized the 2-hour speedboat transfer to Dhigurah. While this option was economical, the conditions were rough and very uncomfortable. The boat was full and hot, the waters were choppy, and other guests were vomiting throughout the trip. Upon arrival to Dhigurah, however, we were met by friendly and helpful staff who welcomed us to Bliss. We stayed on a half-board plan, and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the meals that we ate at Hermit’s — the adjoining restaurant to Bliss. There is also a small grocery store on the island as well as several small restaurants where you can eat. They provide some clean drinking water in the rooms each day, but we also bought some additional water from the restaurants and store. In addition to exploring the island and relaxing on the beach, we also enjoyed some of the Bliss activities and excursions: whale shark snorkeling, snorkel safari, two-tank scuba diving, and dinner on the beach. All of these experiences were fantastic, and the excursions operated by Bliss are available only to its guests so the groups were nice and small. Bliss made it easy to book and pay for all activities throughout our stay, and I feel that they were all a good value. The property was well-maintained, our rooms were clean, and the staff was all attentive, friendly, and helpful. We did not use the rooftop hot tubs, but they were available, and I did enjoy using the small gym on-site. We wanted to get a resort experience in the Maldives, so we booked an additional 2 nights at a nearby resort. Bliss kindly arranged a boat transfer for us to the resort island, and we returned to Male via seaplane from the resort. After experiencing both the resort and local island, I think both offer unique and enjoyable experiences. Both islands were beautiful and offered beaches and excursions, but I do believe that Bliss is a much better value and would definitely recommend a stay there to anyone visiting the Maldives.

I travelled with my Mum. Disclosure: we won the holiday through a Telegraph/Emirates/Kandima promotion, so please forgive me if my spectacles are a little rose-tinted! It's pretty surreal to arrive in the Maldives and see the turquoise sea and white sand you've seen in so many photos. While the transfer from Male to Kandima was smooth, and the Diethelm reps (working on behalf of Emirates) were really helpful, it took a long time (landed at Male around 8am and arrived at Kandima at after 1pm) so I think the seaplane option is definitely worth considering. The welcome at Kandima was lovely and our room (an Aqua Villa) was great. Real privacy and quiet (apart from the ruddy keol birds which now, of course, I miss). I had been a little concerned about how far we would have to walk, but as we were in an Aqua Villa without jacuzzi, we were at the end of the boardwalk closest to the land. That meant it was only a couple of minutes' walk to Zest for breakfast and dinner. We had to get the bus to Flavour on our last two days as Zest was closed - not surprising given how quiet the resort had become as coronavirus hit and the Maldives barred entry to those coming from the UK. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle bus at any point during the week but I can see that it might be a pain at busy times. The food was fantastic. The food and ambience at Zest played a big part in our enjoyment of our stay at Kandima. There was so much choice and it was all excellent. We were on half board and felt no need for lunch as we'd eaten so much at breakfast. On the first night, we weren't asked if we wanted wine and didn't see anyone around us drinking so assumed that the buffet restaurants didn't offer drinks other than the soft ones laid out. It was only on the second night when we sat somewhere different that we saw there was wine but we were still never offered any. I know that would have been chargeable but I still find it odd that we were never asked. We didn't bother asking after that as we had got into the habit of having a glass or two of red wine from the minibar once we got back to our room, well and truly full. We went on a glass-bottomed boat trip which I highly recommend if you're a non-swimmer or less confident swimmer and want to see some marine life. I hired a snorkel one day and wish I had done so earlier on as my confidence soon built. A big highlight for me was the yoga and fitness classes. I really enjoyed the complimentary classes each morning and afternoon and signed up for a full class later in the week. Anna was particularly good and has helped motivate me to carry on now I'm home (well, now we're all at home for a while, have a look on Instagram at @stayathomeyoga). She's a great teacher and clearly enjoys what she does!. I never thought I'd go on this type of holiday but this has really whetted my appetite for more.

After you go to the island, fill in the confirmation message in the lobby. There is a golf cart to go to the room, the garden room is in the middle of the island, in fact, not far from the seaside (half minutes walk), and the sand house is separated by a road, I think the cost is higher than the sand house. Both Chinese food and dinner are buffets for $30, and the price is ok. You can call the front desk to call the car for free, and the front desk can exchange 1 dollar for the banknote.

We visited kurumba maldives on 6th march and stayed for 3 nights in delux bungalow 213 & 214 just few mtrs away from beach.. to summarise the experience i have noted few key points which will be helpful to all who are planning : Distance from male: 10 min boat ride( we wanted to be near male due to covid19 panic as hospital access or evacuation would be easy) , super fast check in , honored our request for early check in which was great. Beach, water, reef & gardens : it was our first trip to maldives so we haven't seen many resorts but from our personal experience , research and other guests reviews it was at par with all the best resorts. rooms: all rooms are spacious ,upmarket , well maintained will suggest room facing open ocean which gives u a feeling of privacy and faraway from world feeling. bar ,restaurants & food : plenty of options , something for everyone , one of the best indian food that we had on a holiday away from india special mention to chef kelum and chef nanda for making our stay memorable all the other staff was also cooperative ( except odd few from the kandu bar).. Package : we chose the all inclusive package as we were two couples and didn't want to waste time ordering and comparing costs..but this option is only good if you have above avg. alchohol or beverages consumption requirement, for us it was value for money . overall kurumba maldives lived up to the expectations of most of the travellers who come to this paradise, we generally do not repeat resort properties but somehow kurumba has left us to be wanting more of it.. so we will be back soon. cheers to all the staff working there for making it so.. Regards, Ashish karwa

Baa Atoll
Walk around the island for about 20 minutes. It is a medium-sized island in the Maldives. The island is booked mainly for snorkeling, watching whale sharks, manta rays and turtles. Went to the Spring Festival and informed that whale sharks and manta rays can only be seen from June to November. I only saw turtles out of the sea. It's a pity. Okay on the island. The house I live in is simple and natural, and the room is large. Lived in a water house and a sand house. The water house is at sea, and there is a small ladder to go straight to the sea. Watching the sunset is also very convenient. Another advantage is that there are no bugs! Disadvantages, there are waves during the Spring Festival. The waves were loud at night during sleep. The sand house is the front and back yard, and the front is a washing area surrounded by it. The back is an open sandy beach. Advantages The outdoor shower feels cool. It's also good to watch the sea from a beach lounge chair. Cons: There are ants! Ants are not afraid of people, they crawl on them. Will be bitten by ants. The worst thing was the ants, my wife and I were bitten. There is no solution, don't put sweets in the house, including garbage. No bugs are seen during the day, but they come out at night. Be prepared to live in a sand house. That ant is very big. The service on the island is good, but I feel the butler is more tasteless. Except for staying in the room, I can see it but I can't see it. Communication depends on WeChat, not Chinese, only WeChat translation. It doesn't feel useful. The island is so big, and I go to the sea to play at the top of the water center on the island. Basically, I do n’t need a housekeeper. The little girl at the front desk has a Chinese, and my little girl from Japan and Thailand can also speak Chinese. Girl WeChat, acting as a translator. The Aquatic Center has a Chinese deep diving instructor who can talk to him about water sports and ask them to help book. No problem with English. Finally, talk about fun. To be honest, there is less play on the island. Snorkeling is good, and there are many fish. The snorkeling area is also large. On the side of the market, the waves are small, and there are no waves in the morning. Can kayak, paddleboards have waves to keep from playing. It is recommended to go to the aquatic center early in the morning to play the project. I was kayaking and found that I was alone. It seemed that everyone was really on vacation. If you don't see whale sharks or devil fishes. This island has a lot of fun. Suitable for those who like to snorkel, can play kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, jet skiing, watching dolphins on the boat, and snorkeling to watch Wang Ba. Gone! Still relatively few. I feel that most of them are taking care of their homes on vacation, which is very suitable. The environment on the island is good. Free bicycles are available for travel. There are many trees on the island and the scenery is good. The overall feeling is not high (maybe because of the Spring Festival).

The environment can give 5 stars (after all, it’s a sack) The quality of service needs to be improved. The staff is very polite. They can speak Chinese. Thank you, hello... I could provide 5-star service, but when I left the island, I got the travel time wrong. The original reservation email It was explained that I was leaving by plane at 12:35, but the hotel staff arranged for me to leave until 13:45 in the afternoon by boat. As a result, when I went to the island airport, I couldn’t find my flight information at all (in fact, it was already the night before leaving the island. I checked with the front desk for confirmation, but the front desk clerk insisted that my appearance time was in the afternoon, saying that the time of the email would be changed), and at the same time, I couldn’t get on the 17:05 plane to leave Male’ and could only change to other flights. Hotel service is really not flattering [anger] The room booked is claimed to be 5 stars, but I can’t feel it. In fact, it’s not much different from the 4 stars next to it. [Pick nose] All-inclusive price, the food is relatively average, it can only be said to fill the stomach, there are few choices and the quality is average
