The picture of the hotel looks nice, but when you pull up outside it is quite evident that the hotel is in dire need of a coat of paint and a complete refurbishment. It is located by the river about 300 metres from the town's main square where there are a number of eateries and bars. Our room was supposed to be one of the best in the hotel - yes, it had everything one needed including air-con and it was clean, but it was oh so tired - you were afraid to touch anything in case it came off in your hand ! See my photo of the 'view' from our bedroom window - the remains of some sort of water feature / garden just abandoned - a complete eyesore. Needless to say, we didn't eat dinner at the hotel. Despite all of the above, I was charged over 140 euros for the room for one night - breakfast (which we did not take) was extra - an overcharge of at least 60 euros in my opinion. It's a great pity to have to give this hotel such a negative write-up because it is in a good location, and it could be a really nice venue offering comfortable accommodation, but it needs a massive cash injection and complete refurb to bring it into the 21st century.

I read some of the reviews and was surprised. if you book a £55 room then you do not get the Ritz. Doh! Rooms are a little small and basic but if you are travelling then you just want a bed. Loads of hot water, good showers. The Manager was really helpful and let us keep our bikes in the reception hall of the hotel. It has a lively pub as well and is next door to Mende Cathedral. They have an Italian chef and the food is excellent and freshly made. Had one of the best Spagetti Carbonara's in France. Manager is also in a Rock Band that appears in Manchester in the Autumn. A Lively place well worth booking

If you love the semi- Marathon you will have to sleep somewhere. Because this is a great event. But to pay so much more- for this room just that day- not the season, is a thing that we accept but it‘s not good. Especially if you ask - as friends for a twin bedded room and are then ending up in a family room with a double bed, a baby bed and a removable child‘s bed. Butyou have no choice! The reception, breakfast is very good. But we will not book it agail since if we come back- we need some sleep in a decent bed! All hotel facilities are ok. But not more. Tell your guests, communicate- but all that is not fair! You can do better!

We chose this hotel as it seemed the best option in the area and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome with parc ferme, large bedroom with French windows opening onto small balcony overlooking main street but this is a peaceful village so that was good. Best restaurant in village with locally sourced cuisine timely served and presented elegantly. We enjoyed a peaceful drive through the Gorges du Tarn with its spectacular views and tunnels on the afternoon we arrived and spent an hour at the Millau Viaduct visitor centre/viewing area the following morning on our way south. Glad we went for the best option and were amazed at the value as drinks, dinner with wine, large bedroom ensuite, breakfast and parc ferme came to under £100 and all delivered with charm and good humour. Thank you.

We stayed here for one night on our trip and were really glad we chose this Hotel. Check in was quick and easy and very friendly. It was also great that you could check in from 2pm. We stayed in the annex building and the rooms were great. Exceptionally clean and modern. The shower was brilliant. The only quibble was the noise as the walls felt quite thin and we had someone cough very loudly day and night!. Fab location and beautiful surroundings. As we were out of season florac itself was very quite at night but we found a lovely restaurant with great food and cheap wine. I would definitely recommend Florac and this Hotel.

Stayed her for 3 nights. On arrival was met by the hotel manager/owner who greeted us with a less than welcoming reception. He seemed mainly interested to know if we would be leaving early in the morning and we had to inform him we were booked in for 3 nights. No real information given about the hotel, just pointed in the direction of the Annexe where our allocated room was. He then told us we couldn't leave our car parked where it was (it wasn't blocking anyone's access to the building or preventing people from accessing/moving their cars in the car park) but we did as we were asked. A few minutes later we discovered that he had allowed someone else to park in this space and every day after this it was always used as a parking space. Returned to the reception to find out about the Wii Fi code and was told there wasn't one. The owner/manager pointed at a piece of paper on the desk and just kept pointing at something on it without any explanation. He gave me the impression that I was being a nuisance. I returned to my room and figured it out for myself. We were allocated at room that was in the process of being refurbished. The bathroom was lovely but the bedroom was very dated. We did at least have a view over the pool. That night when most guests were trying to sleep there was a disturbance down by the pool caused by 3 women who were jumping in and out of the pool, screaming and laughing. After a while another guest called out for them to keep quiet but this had no effect. Another 30 minutes later when this was still going on and it was midnight some of the guests decided to take matters into their own hands to try and get the women to leave the area. This seemed to only agitate the women even more and lead to them becoming even more aggressive both verbally and physically. We tried calling reception but there were no instructions on the phone of which number to dial. We tried several but none connected us to the hotel staff. My partner then made his way over to reception but it was locked up with no security, or member of staff to be seen. Other guests eventually came and opened the reception door and came to try and help. Once back in the room we dialled the main number for the hotel and eventually reached someone (who turned out to be the owner/manager) who told us he had only just got his head down for a sleep 15 minutes ago and had already been informed by another guest about the disturbance. He seemed more worried about having his sleep disturbed than trying to help sort out the problem and protect his guests. When we mentioned calling the police he asked us not to. At this point the police arrived and dealt with the situation. The next morning we went back to reception to speak to the owner/manager about what had happened the previous evening. As we approached the main desk there suddenly appeared a large German Shepard barking ferociously at us. He then ran straight at me barking and salivating as he approached.
