1.54km from the village cafe hastingsStayed 5th september 2020 for a mum daughter weekend. Firstly, the 4* needs updating to 2*. The proprietor was busy taking in an online grocery shop, and we waited quietly until he came to door. His greeting was not friendly in any way at all, almost like we were a paying inconvenience! He silently checked us in then showed us to room 5. Our first sight of our room was him turning off a fan heater trying to dry a soaked carpet...which is fine, accidents happen, but to not explain anything was just weird to be honest. Anyway, beds ok. Bathroom was very grubby. Note to cleaner...get a old toothbrush and a cheap bottle of bleach spray and it would take little effort to get the black mouldy tiles clean. They are disgusting, i wouldn't have my own bathroom that mucky let alone charging strangers to have a bath in there! £75 might be not alot to the owner of this b&b , but to me its over a days wages. The toilet seat was wonky..why would you not just fix it?? There were removable stains on tiles by toilet, yuk. l would be mortified if i ran that place and a guest told me this! The telly had an aerial that you had to get in just the right position to get limited channels, very annoying . The wi fi was non existent which this day and age is unacceptable . The back garden looked lovely, and it was a quiet area . Parking late afternoon was not that easy. Booking.com emailed this property to inform them one of us was vegan and could they arrange a suitable breakfast. lt was totally and rudely ignored. she couldn't have toast, no dairy free spread offered. Breakfast ok but sparse. The atmosphere of the breakfast room was not what you call friendly and we couldn't wait to leave. l tried to get someones attention when we left our key but was ignored so we left. l do not recommend this place in any way at all and they seriously need to buck their ideas up and realise people like to be treated like they are wanted. lt slightly spoiled our weekend but Hastings was great. [and clean].
