0.68km from GIATSOS I.I.E.K. S.A.We stayed for 5 nights in this amazing hotel. It makes a great base for exploring Ioannina: easy walking distance to the Castle, ferries to Nissi, taxi stand, pedestrian shopping streets, many restaurants, and the Archaeological Museum (worth a visit). There’s even a terrific bakery a few meters away. Our room was well furnished with large comfortable bed, reading lights, two armchairs, refrigerator, safe, coffee fixings and complimentary bottled water replenished daily. The bathroom was modern and comfortable (although the shower operation was a bit of a challenge for us). The breakfast was phenomenal – dozens of choices including two types of omelets, sausages, various homemade sweet and savory pastries, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, etc. It can be enjoyed inside or out on the patio. The owner speaks fluent English, having lived in the US for 20 years. She is extremely helpful and delightful to talk to. She very generously offered us breakfast when we arrived early, before check-in time. The rest of the staff is very friendly too. One other amenity I have not seen mentioned in recent reviews is laundry service. You are charged by the bag, the price is extremely reasonable, and ours was completed the same day. A great service for those of us midway through a long trip! We hired a taxi driver to take us into the nearby Pindus mountains to spend the day visiting Vikos Gorge, the Zagori villages and unique stone bridges. Truly a breath-taking experience and well-worth the 150 euros we spent. It was far easier than negotiating the hairpin turns, rocks in the road, and super-narrow streets in a rental car!
