Shuzenji Onsen is more beautiful than other hot spring areas in Izu. The hot spring culture has a long history and has a stronger sense of tourism and vacation. Next time, I will go to Asabaro and Kikuya to experience Arai Hotel. I chose Taizanso because of the high reviews. I enjoy eating, so the fact that the reviews for the food were good was the number one factor. Due to the corona sickness, all the dishes were lined up on the table except for rice and dessert. Originally, black rice was served last, but white rice was served as an appetizer. The black rice for dinner and wasabi rice for breakfast were delicious. I don't think this dish can be helped if it's a corona countermeasure dish, but I thought it was a very ordinary dish that was neither acceptable nor impossible. If the usual kaiseki cuisine is better, can I visit again? The public bath didn't feel smaller than I imagined (image from word of mouth). The quality of the hot springs is good to stay warm forever, but it doesn't seem to be free-flowing. Due to the corona crisis, the two large public baths are reserved until 22:00 and then become men's and women's baths. The bath in the ordinary Japanese-style room was deep and tiled, so I didn't feel the atmosphere. It was a room on the second floor, but I think it would be better for the elderly and those with disabilities to be careful about the stairs and the room bath. Free coffee and tea was very nice. I think that the customer service of the staff is good. The inn seems to have a history, but is it clean and incense? The scent of is also soothing. You can't see the view from the room, but it's close to the center of Shuzenji, so it's good for a walk.

　The first time we chose the back of the inn at Shuzenji Onsen, it was the Yukoro Kikuya. It is located almost in the center of the hot spring town of Shuzenji, and if you follow the prefectural road that runs through the northern bank of the Katsura River, there is an entrance to the inn, and there is a parking lot next to it. From the entrance to the main body of the inn, you will pass over the lobby built on the bridge over the Katsura River. Check-in is done on the sofa in this lobby, so you can see the Katsura River from just above the river. As the name ”Yu Corridor” suggests, many hot water areas are connected by long corridors. From those hot springs, I could see the beautiful garden of the inn. The dinner I was looking forward to was called ”Quasi Sakana Kaiseki”, and I was able to choose some dishes as I liked. We were two of us, and we dared to eat different dishes, but each dish looked beautiful and very delicious. Our accommodation plan was a plan to have draft beer free in the private lounge, so we had draft beer in the hot spring and relaxed.

I was able to spend very comfortable between arrival and departure. It's a short walk to the hot spring town, so I could take a walk to the bamboo diameter before dinner or go to Shuzenji Temple, which opens at 5 in the morning. It was a little far from the map than other inns with the same price and I was wondering which one to choose, but there was no problem with the distance to sightsee. Employees 々 treatment, semi-open-air (hot spring) rooms with forest views, comfortable bedding, specialty products from various places are used, and all of them were delicious. The sleeping bath in the large communal bath was really a lie down and it was my first experience. The fresh flowers and furnishings in the well-maintained garden were also impressive. The bath towels and amenities in the room are colored with embroidery and seals, and where did you put your toothbrush and cup that you often use during your trip? It didn't work, and even if I hung the towel I used, it was good to know which of myself was embroidered in the color. This was my first time with such a service and I was happy with the consideration.

Our party of nine stayed for four days and three nights at Hostel Knot and enjoyed every moment of the unique school tour. Our hosts were knowledgeable about Izu and generously took us around, organising wonderful workshops in calligraphy and making sushi and taking us fishing. Their hospitality was top notch. We occupied the individual rooms and one double room with tatami and liked the traditional atmosphere of the whole hostel. An unforgettable, meaningful and fun experience.

The scenery might be beautiful during autumn leaves. ■Nearby Attractions We recommend going to Niji no Sato on a free electric bicycle. The bicycle was also made by Panasonic and was new, and it was powerful even on the slopes. You can get there in about 20 minutes. At Niji no Sato, you can enjoy steam locomotives and views of Mt. Fuji. Also, if you have a receipt for staying at Shuzenji Onsen, Niji no Sato will give you a 30% discount. ■ Room 　The room was spacious and the bed was set on tatami mats, so it was comfortable to sleep. It was nice to have a humidifier. ■ Meals Buffet style with a competitive number of items. If you are with children, you can enjoy it in an entertainment mood. The hotel building is old but renovated and clean inside. Perfect for those who swim in the sea in the summer on the beach. It is the best location to see the sea from the room and see the sunset. Since the observation bath is a men's and women's replacement system in the morning and evening, women can soak in the hot springs while watching the sunset. Since it is very close to the Suruga Bay ferry terminal, you can also relax while watching the ferry. All-you-can-eat meals in buffet style, and there is also an all-you-can-drink plan. The plan was changed from Minami Izu to Nishi Izu where the sea situation calmed down in diving. It is written as a 180,000 liter spring in a day, and 7,500 liter of hot water is springing out even in an hour, but why? But there was no smell like disinfectant in the hot water. The meal is also luxurious with many seafood including abalone and many small bowls for this price. However, the main sashimi that can be seen most is not a local seafood, and the taste is now one. Because of the relatively large hot spring inn, there are many employees and very polite service, and the room and dining room are luxurious. Because it is DOI Onsen facing the sea, I chose it with expectation of hot springs and seafood, but only two bad points were about the eye, but from the accommodation cost, it is a wonderful temperature above the price even if two points are deducted It is no doubt that it is a spring inn!

We had the most wonderful time at Ochiairo! I came here for a birthday trip with my husband and best friend and we stayed in the spacious Aofuji room overlooking the river. The spatial arrangement offered more than enough space and privacy for 3 people and probably 2 couples or a family and kids. The white noise lulled us to sleep every night and it was simply magical. The international staff was so helpful to us. While we don’t speak Japanese, they did their best to understand and attend to us and it all worked out. They went above and beyond making my birthday feel very special. It was the small details that really mattered - ensuring that we had bikes and activities arranged the night before, coming to our room to teach me how to wear my yukata when I asked them to help, and even cleaning out and lovingly packaging some souvenir bento containers we arrived with when they saw them in our mini fridge! Everything about this place is just so beautiful. A few notes: - THE BATHS! When I tell you that I screamed when I saw the cave and private onsen in particular - just trust that they cannot be missed. - We are all tattooed - one of us significantly so. They have small tattoo covers but ask that you do cover them in the main bath areas (I only know this because I asked and they were incredibly polite about the advice) - We brought tattoo cover but in case you don’t want to bother, please take advantage of the absolutely stunning outdoor private baths - The food is great and eat dinner in sitting rooms upstairs (not served in your room) - You get unlimited drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) and snacks which was another pleasant surprise because they are so tasty! - The koi fish in the front swim up to you and follow you around with such enthusiasm. It’s as if they’re little pond puppies. The staff allowed us to feed them so if interested, please ask. - Don’t miss the swing next to the suspension bridge! - While I loved our room - please note that there is an abandoned hotel directly across the river from it. Kind of ruined the “I am communing with nature” vibes but it was fine in the long run. I could go on, but just trust that this place is just exceptional!

I stayed in a room with an open-air bath with my family. First of all, I was very satisfied with the food, as the other reviews. I was always able to get the best dishes in the state of being able to get them to the pace here. Of course, the dishes for children were as great as adults without any help. As for the hot springs, the open-air bath with good spring quality and sea view was the best. The room was perfectly spacious and clean and comfortable with 12 tatami mats, 6 tatami mats and 3 tatami mats. Finally, the wonderful place of this inn is the wonderful place where the hospitality spirit is wonderful. I felt warm and attentive everywhere.

The hot spring baths are all private and thoughtfully integrated into the rooms. It's incredibly relaxing to submerge yourself in one after a long day exploring the Izu peninsula! The service is impeccable and the staff are uniformly gracious and attentive. Finally, the food at the inn might have been the highlight! Breakfast and dinner are included and each is a high-class, multi-course meal. We were all amazed by how ornate, delicious, and varied the food was each time we sat down. 　The first time we chose the back of the inn at Shuzenji Onsen, it was the Yukoro Kikuya. It is located almost in the center of the hot spring town of Shuzenji, and if you follow the prefectural road that runs through the northern bank of the Katsura River, there is an entrance to the inn, and there is a parking lot next to it. From the entrance to the main body of the inn, you will pass over the lobby built on the bridge over the Katsura River. Check-in is done on the sofa in this lobby, so you can see the Katsura River from just above the river. As the name ”Yu Corridor” suggests, many hot water areas are connected by long corridors. From those hot springs, I could see the beautiful garden of the inn. The dinner I was looking forward to was called ”Quasi Sakana Kaiseki”, and I was able to choose some dishes as I liked. We were two of us, and we dared to eat different dishes, but each dish looked beautiful and very delicious. Our accommodation plan was a plan to have draft beer free in the private lounge, so we had draft beer in the hot spring and relaxed.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law spent two nights at Arujisu in October 2022, after discovering it purely by chance while looking for an inn in Izu. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The inn faces Suruga Bay where one can swim in a protected area. Each room has a terrace with its own outdoor bath, and there is nothing more delightful than waking up early and soaking in the hot mineral waters before breakfast while listening to the waves. (There are also larger baths on the top floor.) Sunset views are breathtaking, as is the food - the west coast of the Izu Peninsula is full of fishing ports and guests benefit from the catch, which appears in exquisite dishes at both breakfast at dinner. I would also recommend exploring the environs on foot. There are quiet fishing towns and easy mountain paths through lush forests hiding ancient temples. The price for all this is comparatively low when one considers the beauty of the location, the quality of the food and the kind, caring service. It's worth the time it takes to reach Odoi - we took the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Mishima, then a taxi to the inn (quite reasonable for four people). There is also the option of going to Shimizu and taking the Suruga Bay ferry to Odoi, but do check that the ferry is operating at the time you need, as crossings are liable to be cancelled when the water is rough. One final note: We had been somewhat concerned because our son-in-law has some tattoos, and tattooed people are often banned from public baths in Japan. You will have no such problem at Arujisu, possibly because tattoos are becoming more accepted in general, or possibly because of the welcoming attitude of everyone at this inn.

A revisit after 5 years. If I were to describe this ryokan in one word, it would be ”beauty”. From the appearance of the gate, and from the atmosphere the moment you step into the entrance, it's already exceptional (usually there are one or two questions or retorts, but none at all). A truly first class ryokan with tradition and unique style. What's cool even in the bath lol. Since it's Shuzenji, the quality of the hot water isn't that good, but maybe because there aren't many rooms, it doesn't overlap with other guests, so it's comfortable. For those who can afford it, there are rooms with open-air baths and super-luxury rooms. (I can't do it yet lol) The food is standard kaiseki. The sense of the vessel is truly amazing, and the food itself is wonderful. I'm not the type to find surprises or new discoveries, but Coco has originality and a sense of specialness that makes me feel at ease. The amazing thing about this ryokan is that it doesn't make you feel formal at all, even though it's particular about beauty and has ”class and dignity”. There is nothing like the ulterior motive of trying to show better than the essence. Therefore, families are very welcome. When I first visited him, my eldest son was 1 and a half years old. I wondered what would happen when I took my 3 children with me, but I think the children were a little quieter than usual, probably because of the atmosphere of the inn...lol As far as I know, it's definitely the best inn One.

The meal was creative kaiseki, so a variety of dishes were served, with a focus on seafood. They also have many types of local sake, and I was able to drink a lot of them. The menu changes every month. For breakfast, in addition to a variety of small dishes, we chose our favorite dried fish. It's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach, so you can take a walk even out of season. At night, the sky was full of stars and we even saw shooting stars. It may have been a day when there were not many guests, but the check-in and check-out procedures went smoothly without any problems and we didn't meet any other guests. To be honest, it was my first time to be taken care of by foreigners at this type of inn, but everyone was very welcoming. If you think about it, just because it's a Japanese-style inn doesn't mean that Japanese people have to serve customers. This is a matter of taste, so if you don't like customer service unless you're Japanese, I don't think we'll meet your expectations. Also, this time I was brought here by an acquaintance, so I didn't actively research information about this inn beforehand, but it seems that there have been ownership changes and renewal openings in the past, and that it is still in use today. I think that's why past evaluations have varied. The price is not at a reasonable level, so I don't know if I will be able to come here often, but I would definitely like to stay here again.
