Hotels Near Moncrons In Sauze D'Oulx Review
We stayed for one night in August 2020 with our very young daughter. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke good english (and were also kind enough to bear with my meagre attempts at speaking Italian). There was secure underground parking available for us when we arrived which we were directed to. We were then shown to our suite which was lovely, with a jacuzzi bath, rain shower and lovely smelling toiletries. The bed was very comfy, and the view across the town centre, with the Alps as a backdrop, was lovely. We had a takeaway pizza from the nearby restaurant for dinner and for breakfast there was a buffet, but only accessed by staff wearing masks who would come to see what you wanted. We had quite a selection and it was all delicious, particularly the brilliant selection of salami and cheeses. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the summer and we would look to return if we are in the area again. In terms of COVID precautions, the room was immaculate and had clearly been very thoroughly cleaned, all staff wore masks and there was sanitiser at various places throughout. We felt very safe and wished we had been able to stay longer. Thank you for looking after us.
Cozy hotel in the old town, just 5 minutes drive from the ski slopes. And 5 minutes walk from the city centre, bars, restaurants and supermarket. Abundant breakfast with buffet. Tv lounge where u can have a tea or enjoy a drink. The hotel and the rooms are very clean. Extremely kind and professional staff! Very valuable! I highly recommend!
We have now been using this hotel for the past 3 years as a family including the last 2 Christmas's. As a family we love skiing and this hotel is perfectly located close to Bardonecchia and Saux d'Oulx. Staying here is like coming home. Giancarlo, Valentina and Matteo are the nicest people you could meet. The hotel itself is small but quaint. Always warm. The rooms are well appointed with single double and family rooms available at very competitive prices. The breakfast is good and the perfect start before a day on the slopes. This hotel is perfect both for a stop off on your journey or for a few days skiing with good restaurants within walking distance a free ski bus that stops outside and good rail links. Turin in just over 1 hour. Giancarlo has a shuttle bus available if you need transport. Having just spent Easter there I am sure we will soon be planning our next visit
Thank you so much for the incredible service that the staff have given so to accommodate 110 people all at once. They were so kind to change meal times and adapt always to the needs of the groups. The complex is quite big with a beautiful room with ping pong, lounge area, possibility to do karaoke and little disco nights for kids. Plus if you are into sports you can relax and watch the sky sport channel that is always on. The food is very pleasant as well as the rooms. There is a local bus that stops right in front of the hotel if needed. You are completely immersed in the mountain surroundings. Beautiful place to be.
Location is very good. Right next to the train station and a few seconds' walk to the high street. The bus stop is, again, a few seconds' walk from the residence, with the bus regurlary running stopping at the slopes of Campo Smith. Some have stated you can hear the noise from the trains over the road, however we did not hear anything. There is a rather small terrace just outside of the rooms, which looked nice but was not used by us thanks to the enormous amount of snow:). The room itself was very nice and warm and had a cosy feel to it. Not the biggest of rooms, but its size was perfectly fine for us. We had a large balcony which overlooked the train station part. Sounds unpleasant, but it was actually a nice view with the mountains and trees in the background. Main street is great, full of great restaurants. There is a Carrefour Express a three minute walk from the residence, and there are two bakeries nearby as well as a cafe selling fresh and delicious pastries, great for the morning. Also, the price of Residence Tabor was quite good for a ski town in february. All in all, great stay. Grazie
We visited Bardonecchia to visit with friends from the area. I am accustomed to staying in hotels, so there was a bit of uncertainty for me as to how this would work out, but Vittorio was a most excellent host, helping with literally every part of our stay from helping arrange a shuttle van from Turin airport to pointing out local points of interest. We had an amazing first trip to Italy in no small part due to Vittorio and La Tana Del Ghiro. Highly recommended. One note for those who like to sleep in: The nearby church bells ring every half an hour, which woke us up most days. We came to call this the “Bardonecchia Alarm Clock” - but truth be told, I actually appreciated it as it got us up and moving, and it was actually a fairly pleasant way to be awakened.
