Ahead of booking, we had a fair amount of doubts based on the reviews written here. But we loved this place! It seems family run and the other guests we encountered were pleasant. The cafe is so cute and everything we tried was amazing. We loved sitting out at the picnic tables and on the porch. The location is really prime for a few different hiking spots so we headed out early and looked forward to coming back here both days. Honestly, close to nature, a comfy private room, coffee, pizza (next door) and ice cream — say no more!

We stayed at this hotel after staying in the one next door, We forgot to book an extra day in the other hotel so we hastily made our way to this one. The lady at the front desk was more than helpful and understanding off our situation and gave us a room, the room itself was fantastic, we had a coffee maker and coffee was even served in reception. The bed was comfy however our shower was a tad bit strange, if you wanted hot you had to turn the knob to cold and if you wanted cold you had to turn the knob to hot. This was quite a funny experience as I got in. Overall would come back to the Lodge again.

We stayed here for 4 nights while day-hiking nearby Mt. Rainier. (Any accommodation in tiny Ashford, WA will be less than 10 minutes from the Nisqually park entrance and the closest you can stay without being IN the park at Paradise Lodge, which is pricy and closed in winter anyway). It is a weird cluster of cabins, MIL suite and mini-motel, plus maybe owners/family living on-site. The rooms are mostly as shown in site photos but the exterior is more run-down. There is no lobby or front desk; you need to check in & out at adjoining bakery (which has limited hours, 9-6). NO WiFi in the rooms despite their promises. There’s no housekeeping - we had to take out our own trash, even. They are VERY difficult to book with or change reservations - won’t do it by phone and “Yuri,” the assigned staff for this, took literally weeks for us to reach via email. When we checked out before 9 on our last day, there was no key drop; I called both bakery & hotel repeatedly (to advise that we’d checked out) only to receive “no voicemail has been set up” messages. I emailed and never received a response. Very weird and I won’t stay here again - but note that many of the nearby accommodations are closed, so search carefully for what you want.

When considering a stay near Mount Rainier National Park, the options are limited and prices are high. We picked Alexander’s Lodge and were very happy. We mostly wanted a clean hotel with comfortable beds and this hotel does great with both of those areas. The beds and pillows were comfortable and our room with two beds was very large. The WIFI worked great and there was a microwave and refrigerator. The location is key here as it is very close to the Nisqually park entrance. The room also included a guest book with recommendations for restaurants, etc, which we found helpful. My daughter and I found the included breakfast a great addition. They said it would not be delivered until after 7:30am, but ours was there by 6am. We had ordered in advance the hard boiled eggs and they stayed great in our cooler until late morning at the park when we needed a snack. I’m not sure what more you could want because you won’t find any Marriotts or chain hotels in this area. If you need those types of properties then you should plan to stay further away. Yes, the price was not low but it was the same or lower than anything else we found and had better reviews than many. We did see a staff member upon our arrival who asked us if everything was going ok. The one thing I did really wish they had was an ice machine, but there was a gas station on the other side of town where we could get ice and snacks, etc. This is an older lodge but if your priority is to be near the park entrances, Alexander’s Lodge is a great option. We would go back again.

Hotel was nice. Clean large room. Appeared to be recently remodeled. Good hot breakfast. Plenty of parking. Downsides: Sketchy part of town. We were on second floor and could hear all the noise from the pool. Thankfully it closed at 10 each night. No car chargers. If we were in tacoma again we would probably stay here again. One of the cleaner nicer hotels at this mid range price (200-300/night with taxes and fees)

The hotel makes it so that one cannot stream to the tv. We did ask about it. The pool was supposed to be heated. All else very good. Place looks in good shape, painted, two elevators. Breakfast was fine. We had 409 king bed. Plenty of room, plenty of outlets. Good size mini-fridge. Roomy bathroom. Good water pressure. I would stay here again. The issues are simply First World minor complaints. Housekeeping available everyday. That's good. Located next to freeway. Some rooms may be loud.

My family and I stayed at the DuPont Fairfield Inn & Suites for two nights. We found this hotel after having a terrible experience at the Holiday Express nearby and called the Fairfield Inn at 10 o’clock at night, thankfully they had a room for us! Debbie (at late-night check-in) and Brandon (daytime) at the front desk were extremely helpful, professional and accommodating for our family of 5. The complimentary breakfast was very yummy with a nice selection of food & drinks, even my picky children really enjoyed the breakfast! The breakfast attendants were very helpful and friendly, offering my kids waffles. The Fairfield Inn was very clean and everyone including the guests wore masks. The entire staff had sunny dispositions, great mask and covid-cleaning discipline. During these covid times it was so nice to stay in a comfortable, safe place with great customer service! We can always count on the Marriott brand!

we brought our wrestling team here for state wrestling. there are two different buildings. the building with the lobby seems to be updated and nicer than the building we were put up in. the hallways stunk. some of our doors did not lock. there was no hot water. not safe to even walk in the hallways alone. loud noise all night. no screen in the windows of the 3rd floor room. we were quite nervous about the safety of our team. we took pictures and have asked our travel team to never book us here again. the rooms were large enough and the fridge and microwaves did work. beds were comfortable and sheets seemed to be clean.

My family and I stayed here a little while. During our time there we paid our bill on time, paid our balance in full, and had no complaints. Upon leaving, we were charged incorrectly and we were quick to work with our bank to put a stop to avoid further charges. They still tried though. We went ahead and made some disputes with our Navy Federal Bank and they are handling it high up in fraud. The biggest concern is getting a print out of each transaction and seeing some very sketchy credits never applied that indicate we had a credit that we forfeited. We also had late fee charges that they placed in and than balances, I am an auditor and I even could not make anything add up. This too is being looked into. It goes all the way back to when Johnny, property manager, started working. It went from room charge ea day and the amount and than payment to charges and credits and forfeited balances and all these weird codes and what is more is that the rates change yet we paid a certain amount...We also filed with the BBB and informed the district manager. Concerning to have someone make the billing so different from the previous manager. if theft is proven we are filing charges. I do not recommend staying here at all. Not for a week and not for longer. The housekeepers and Janet are wonderful though! Ashley and Janet were great! Johnny is also very disrespectful towards women. He is condescending and unprofessional though he does have a kind side. I feel that he needs to be reviewed to ensure things are properly ran. What frosted the cake for us mainly was that they accepted the people placed on a ”house arrest” program during covid. He accepted a whole bunch of jail birds and they all had ankle monitors, police officers, probation, and a few other people who were very sketchy and it became unsafe quick. The lack of running this place safely, clean, professional, and honest makes this place less than desirable. Johnny was also extremely rude to his housekeepers and maintenance man, Mike. Mike and Housekeeping helped keep everyone neutral since Johnny has a quick temper and cant seem to separate personal and business aspects in much of anything....I would recommend elsewhere and I hope that he is reviewed by the owner. I push for resolutions. Also they do not keep the rooms vacant between guests.

They offer a laundry room for guests which ended up great for us to do laundry as we went from one national park to another. Customer service was very friendly as we did the check in. WiFi was the best so far in our room. A great place to stay if you are in the area, or in between national parks.

We needed to vacate our house for a day and had to find accommodations that would welcome a dog. The Inn at Gig Harbor was reasonably priced and met all our requirements. From the moment we checked in, the hotel felt like home. We were welcomed with surprisingly delicious chocolate chip cookies and treats for our poodle. The room was lovely and equipped with a fridge and microwave (both of which came in handy). Breakfast the next morning included outstanding cinnamon rolls, as well as sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and excellent coffee. The fireplace in the lobby is a great place to hang out. And the friendly staff will make sure everything concerning your visit is going smoothly. Five stars and our highest recommendation!

Friendly staff experience upon check-in. I received a spacious upstairs queen bed room with sofa and coffee table, table and two chairs, large dresser, large desk, fridge and microwave oven. The room did not have a pleasant smell. I could not turn on a few lights and the TV. Staff came promptly to fix these issues. I also asked for - and received rags and cleaner to clean the bugs of my motorcycle. Very appreciated! A grab-n-go breakfast included big muffins and danish, several fruit and good coffee. But .... this property is large and it looks like many ”guests” are long-term residents. A lot of parking lot activity including noisy cars and loud music.

Booked this room so my 13 year old daughter and I could attend a dog show at the State Fair in Puyallup. It was a huge pain to get the key cards to work. I walked back and forth several times before I finally was able to even get INTO the room. The first night there was a power outage for 4 hours; the second night there was a loud fight outside our room; the third morning at 6am some homeless lady wandered up to me while I was packing our van for the show and asked if she could use my shower. Then she went upstairs and entered a different room. ?? Unfortunately, I just didn't feel safe here with my daughter. In the area farthest from the office, along the back of the building, there were a lot of creepy people who didn't look like they were up to any good.

Nice, decent, clean hotel with breakfast included and free parking. About 10 minute walk from Washington State Fairgrounds, while downtown Puyallup with restaurants and bars is about 20-25 minutes walk or a short drive. Rooms and bathrooms aren't the most modern but everything was very clean and comfortable. I was happy to get a room overlooking the trees (the other 3 sides of the hotel overlook either the parking lot or road). So I had a nice quiet stay. Staff are quite friendly and efficient (although they had a big line up of water bottles at the front desk and when I asked for one she said oh there's water bottles in the room, not mentioning that they are $4 each. If the water bottles at front desk are only reserved for top tier elite Bonvoy members maybe they should hide them out of the way, in my opinion, but that's just a minor point!)

It's good to sleep here and can't hear the sound of the plane. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Because the base of the kettle is lost, I don't know if I can boil water, but hot water can also be provided here, hygiene is generally OK, but the price is OK.

Sad pool was closed due to Covid but understand there is nothing that they can do about it. Breakfast was decent given the restrictions due to Covid. I booked 2 rooms. One room had a shower “poof” for body wash left over from the person who had the room before us so I’m worried that the room wasn’t cleaned as it should’ve been. In the other room I noticed the complimentary blow dryer was dirty. It had hair stuck to it and the holder was kind of dirty. The room also smelled like grandmas perfume. Just worried again that the room wasn’t cleaned as it should’ve been. And that’s even more important now because of Covid. Think there should be good discounts on rooms since the amenities weren’t available due to the pandemic. Also breakfast is “included” in price. But since you are unable to enjoy the good buffet style breakfast due to Covid I believe the price of the rooms should be adjusted to reflect these things.

Perfect location for our trip! We visited Buckley, Tacoma and Seattle during our trip and this hotel was no more than 20-30 minutes at the longest to any location we traveled to. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had absolutely no complaints. Their Covid precautions were appropriate and did not negatively affect the experience. They required reservations to use the pool but we were able to use the pool easily at the times we wanted to. The free breakfast was GREAT! The breakfast attendant filled to-go containers with either scrambled eggs or pre-made omelettes, and sausage or bacon or both and a biscuit, they also had available coffee, a selection of juices, milk, yogurt and muffins. It was plentiful, convenient, and satisfying. Considering most other hotels in the area either completely forgoed their free breakfast or only offered continental breakfast with no hot options this was excellent. We will absolutely return!
