It is equipped with a stove, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a bowl and a pot. It is very convenient. I bought six boxes of eggs in a small supermarket and burned them myself. The hotel has no breakfast to eat on the street, in the supermarket.

The room is large, the bed is not small, no problem for two adults and one child. The hotel is a bit away from the city center, but for those of us who like to measure the city with footsteps, we not only walked to Chinatown, but also to the Wei Ma market (a taxi cost about 10 Australian dollars, called Didi 8 Australian dollars). The reason for the flight to the hotel is very early, and it is not possible to check in early. This is not as flexible as domestic hotels, which is very common in Australia.

I stayed at Tyrian 4 nights with my wife in late Jan. for a shot holiday, we love this place and can’t recommend highly enough. I have written a prior complimentary review about Tryrian, several years ago when I used to travel to Melb for business, and I am happy to suggest not a lot has changed, so full credit to the Tyrian team. We had a one bed unit on the first floor that was spacious, quiet, well appointed, serviced daily and is equiped with very handy kitchenette and laundry. I really feel this kind of set-up is much better than a cramped hotel room. The location is awesome, just meters from Brunswick St with multiple bars and amazing restaurants for all budgets and a small Coles is next door, just so convenient. If you are happy to be 20-30 walk or a short tram/taxi/Uber ride out of the CBD, I challenge you to find a better place to stay. Happy travels and stay safe!!

Lygon Street
Carlton

The picture on the website is for a front room. It cost us $190 for Thursday Sunday and Monday and $198 for Friday and Saturday nights. It's right on Lygon Street which is very noisy with traffic. The room had a small balcony. Curiously there's no hotel chain represented in Carlton, but having stayed at the Clocktower (which is VERY basic) we opted for this property. It does have a small lift but you walk through the carpark, past boxes and bits of old furniture, rubbish bins etc. to get to it. The room itself was quite big, with a separate bathroom (very small shower) and kitchenette area. It was clean and the towels were good, toilet paper very cheap and thin, always a worry. The air conditioner in our room stopped working the night before we left, and the bathroom door handle became very loose as a screw fell out of it. Lygon St itself looks sad, with many restaurants and shops up for lease or closed permanently, thanks to Covid. For nearly a thousand dollars for 5 nights, we will not be staying here again.

Just 10 steps away from the uber-cool Smith St, Melbourne’s coolest, most unique boutique café and restaurant precinct. You will be immersed in amazing street life the minute you walk out the door.Heading into Melbourne couldn’t be easier – only 1km from the CBD and the tram at your doorstep.Just a hop, skip and a jump from hip Smith St and Gertrude Streets dining and shopping and a 5 minute tram ride into the centre of the city. Not recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy. Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections. Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment. None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests. FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building. The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful. In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross. I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind. The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.

I have stayed at these apartments many times over the past 10 years. They have been slowly degrading and in need of an update, but the location and free parking have always won me over. However, I stayed for one night in late January 2022 and will not stay again. The reception staff were really great, but the cleanliness of the apartment was not acceptable. My doona had a blood stain on it under the doona cover (not seen until the morning) and there was more mould in the showers than I have ever seen in my life! We also had 2 bathrooms and were provided with one piece of soap for the whole apartment. I have continued with this accommodation as it degraded over time, but I will not be back. A thorough clean and replacement of blood stained doonas would be a first step to getting us back.

Front entrance welcomes you with a small Zen feel. The lobby is connected with the restaurant in an open floor space. Stayed in Standard King Room, was very spacious with small arm chair, desk, TV. The bathrooms are very modern with touch enabled mirrors. Absolutely enjoyed our stay there. Would definitely book again

The room was new, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The open kitchen is fully equipped with stoves. If you get tired of eating outside, you can cook instant noodles, dumplings, etc. Since it is an apartment, it will not be cleaned every day, and there are no slippers, combs, and toothbrushes, so you need to prepare these by yourself. The front desk closes at 6pm, so be aware of your arrival time. The location is excellent, a 10-minute walk from the Southern Cross Station of the airport skybus. In the free tram zone, you don’t have to pay to ride the tram at most attractions. All in all, a very good holiday residence.

Booked this after a horrendous few days at a reputable hostel in the city. Nates place was very affordable and extremely comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff, although it's a little out of the city you can take a short walk down Spencer St into the free tram zone and easily make your way around the city from there.

The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodate they do anything do make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment is clean and smelled good and they even offer laundry detergent. There's an intercom that gives access to friends and family or uber eats. The location is super. 7mins walking distance to the shops. The downside is that the fire brigade was just across the road and they are all the time switching on that annoying siren so was quite noisy 😑 and the bedroom didn't have an air-conditioned or fan and it got quite warm sometimes. The only place with air-conditioning was the living room but it took a while for the bedroom to could down. But apart from I highly recommend this place :)

Need a bit more detailing in cleaning and in services. Overall a good place but could be much better if Management check the rooms after Housekeeping and if its not impossible do inform the Person in advance when Housekeeping is coming and kindly advise Housekeeping to clean the room on daily basis as on my 3 day stay Housekeeping only came once when I was out and did nothing on the name of cleaning just moved the things from one place to other.

I am interstate for business on a regular basis and have stayed in many well rated accommodation venues however, I struggle to find anything to criticize at this hotel. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble, they do all the little things, over and above what I would expect to make you feel like a special guest. They all seemed to be ”hand-picked” to suit the service culture of the hotel. The quality and cleanliness of the facilities are A1. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. A small table & chairs, couch and huge TV were a welcome feature. The conference facilities worked well. Conference catering, breakfast room and intimate Bistro/cocktail bar offered quality food & drinks. My partner is disabled in a wheelchair and all his needs were well & truly met in a standard room. Only 1 suggestion - it would be great to have magnetic door stoppers installed so the door will stay open while moving through with the wheelchair or bags. Thank you Marriott Team, we will definitely be back :)

Miami Hotel Melbourne

We chose the Miami because it was very close to the venue we were going to see a live show at. What a gem. Right from our arrival, staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We were given an upgrade that gave as a fabulous view of the city. Our room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom well appointed (they even had shaving cream), couple of chairs to sit on and, one thing we love, mugs for tea or coffee. Everything was spotless. WiFi was good. There is parking on site at a fee. Some undercover but also spaces for those higher vehicles that can’t fit underneath. There is a guest kitchen which would be great for longer stays. We stayed on a Friday night and had no noise issues. Cafes, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance and a tram stop is just down the road. On our trips into town, we usually stay at a much more expensive hotel but from now on the Miami will be our go to property. Very reasonably priced, great staff and comfortable beds, what more could you ask for?
