0.96km from Nong Yao ParkI stayed at Hop Inn Surin in June 2018 for 3 nights. The hotel is a little further out from the busier streets of Surin, and it is located right next door to the Maneerote Hotel. **Tip: Local taxi-bikes and Taxis seem unfamiliar with the Hop Inn name, so just ask them for Maneerote Hotel** Hop Inn is lovely and new, and there is a stark contrast between here and the badly aged Maneerote next door. The Hop Inn is a huge, bright blue building, with a large surrounding car park. The reception is a nice, relaxed 'office-style' layout with a security-card access swipe to get to the elevator and stairwell to the rooms. There is a night security guard on duty too, so your vehicles are safe in the property car park. The rooms are wonderfully bright and well-presented. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillow quality is excellent. I slept fantastically each night there. The bathroom has shampoo/Shower gel dispenser on the wall. There are fresh towels left each day by the attentive staff, as well as two complimentary bottles of glass-bottled Chang water. There are a multitude of lights in the room, for whatever you're in the mood for- studying, relaxing, reading, or romancing. The rooms are also equipped with a small refrigerator, a seat, desk, and excellent Thai Channel HD television with USB ports for your own media. There is a small 'balcony' which houses the A/C fan, so there's space for a smoke, but the guard railing is rather low- so be careful if you have kids, or had one too many Leo. Reception staff are lovely, always say hello, spoke English rather well, and were always smiling. Cleaning staff equally as pleasant. Wi-fi in the hotel worked well, and I was able to stream Netflix without an issue. There aren't any convenience stores within walking distance, although the reception stocks soft drinks and a few select snacks. If you do venture out at night, you'll get street dogs lurking. They can be sporadically hostile, so best you have a motorbike if you venture out. The city night market is about 5 minutes motorbike from the hotel. I'm very familiar with Surin, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I encourage you to book Hop Inn if you have your own mode of transport for getting around, as it makes you appreciate the value of what you get for your money even more.
