I have been travelling to Paris virtually every year for the past 40. For most of that time I've stayed in a very modest place near the Bastille because it was quiet. Recently I have occasionally stayed in a more upmarket hotel in Place de la Republique, sometimes quiet, sometimes not. From now on, however, it will be Goralska Residences every time. It was a stroke of luck that the two previous places mentioned were full for my recent holiday. Thank goodness! It forced me to look elsewhere and I struck gold. What first attracted me about Goralska Residences was that all the rooms (there are only 12) look directly on to the beginning of the Canal St Martin so your view is a delightful one of water and little boats. Thereafter, I was impressed by the rave reviews and liked what I saw of the various rooms on offer - all mini-apartments with living room, sleeping area, bathroom and a 'kitchen'. I chose a Royal Suite and was on the top floor (sixth) and loved every minute. It had enormous windows, to gaze down on to that lovely view, and a separate bedroom. The decoration in the rooms can best be described as colourful and quirky but the main thing is that they’re comfortable. Triple glazing ensures that any traffic noise outside is reduced to a mere murmur. There are art books to read and an iPad to plan your time in Paris. There is ample cupboard and shelf space and I’m happy to report plenty of coat hangers. Internal noise disturbance is minimal to zero, and with so few rooms it would be surprising if it was anything else. The bathroom is decorated with dazzling blue tiles: stunning. I organised my own breakfast each morning, after a visit to a local supermarket, and made good use of the fridge. I was also able to rustle up an evening meal on three days by using the microwave. There is a good supply of cups, plates, cutlery etc. And it was the first hotel room I’ve stayed in where the coffee machine grinds the beans for you. One negative, which was easily dealt with, is that the large double bed had a hard ridge in the middle. If I turned over in the night I would then have to physically move to the comfortable area on the other side. I would hope the hotel can rectify this before my next visit! The service from the staff that I met (Amélie, Janice and Lionel) was friendly, helpful and personal which is one of the advantages of staying in such a small place. The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Place de la Bastille, a transport hub, but also within walking distance of the river, Le Marais and so much more. I stayed for eight nights and look forward to returning.

It only takes about three to five minutes to walk from Paris Gare de Lyon to the hotel, which is very convenient. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are Starbucks coffee around the hotel, there are many restaurants, and there are also many restaurants in the train station that can solve breakfast. The rooms are small and exquisite, and very quiet. Considering such a convenient location, it can be said to be very cost-effective. From Lyon Station, it is very convenient whether to take the subway to the main attractions shopping streets or to go to the suburbs of Versailles and Fontainebleau. recommend!

We arrived at the hotel a little early for check-in so we left the luggage there. We came back again late after 11 pm and the staffs were not still very helpful. The location is good. It is close to Gare de Lyon, which is within the walking distance. There is a metro station so it is quite convenient. The decoration of the room is nice and it is not too small. However the room is very sound proof. We can hear the people in other rooms and in the corridor. Still, we would recommend this hotel.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my many years of travelling. If you are a woman on your own or women on your own, for safety reasons I would go elsewhere. During our short stay, we experienced bullying, aggression and harassment particularly by the man who sometimes did the night shift at reception. We also had regular issues with the woman at reception, Marie, taking away the tea cups we asked for from our room. The other lovely Irish lady at reception kindly lent us a kettle, so we asked for cups to use with this rather than the paper cups provided, which disintegrated if used more than once. On one of the occasions when we called reception again to ask for cups, as they had been pettily taken away from our room once again, this man said he couldn't help and said to ask tomorrow (aggressively!). Then I pleaded with him and he said to come down and get them, which I did. He gave me, once again, some very small, decidedly not for tea, disposable paper cups and said otherwise he couldn't help. We had been given cups by other members of staff previously but this man, egged on by Marie, was adamantly unhelpful. Finally, after much pleading, he went into the kitchen and I followed him because he had not understood which cups I was talking about and I wanted to show him, and he then started yelling at me even though I had not raised my voice at all and squared up to me as if to intimidate me, an elderly 70 year old woman, shouting and swearing and acting in a very aggressive and violent manner. Luckily a fellow guest, an Irish man, caught him in the act and jumped to my defence, truly shocked by this man's uncalled-for treatment of an elderly woman - he was a true hero, who knows what would have happened if he hadn't intervened. The man from reception then turned on the Irish guest and swore at him and insulted him for about 10-15 minutes, getting aggressive towards him too. Finally when the man at reception would not stop yelling, I and my daughter went up to our room with the cups shaken by the whole horrible experience and then went out a little later after turning the TV off, and switching off our lights. When we returned from dinner, the front door of the hotel was locked (which had never happened before) and the reception man was nowhere to be seen, after we buzzed he finally appeared and unlocked the door. When we then went up to our room, we found the lights on, the TV on very loud and the Do Not Disturb sign that we had put on the door turned over to say Please Make Up Room Now, obviously someone had been in our room. We did ask the man to help us call the police but he refused, so we called them on our own phone and they told us we should head to our local station. We thought we would see how things went and instead barricade our door to avoid the man intruding while we slept. Needless to say, we slept very badly, absolutely terrified and very shaken for the remainder of our stay. This behaviour is absolutely i

A very small hotel but it did the job for us. It is located about 5 mins walk from the Bastille area that has some lovely little cafe bars/restaurants. There are also lots of other little cafe bars close to the hotel that we discovered when walking around. It's a bit too far to walk to the big tourist attractions but it's less than 5mins from Gare de Lyon where you can catch buses/metros etc - all very regular! The room literally is a bed, table with shower. But the bed was very comfy and the air con was a God send. There is coffee & tea available in reception which is a bit of a pain but at least it's something. We had an issue one night with people in he next room keeping us up for over an hour and a half, but that's not the hotels fault - just bad luck for us. For the price of the room we

We stayed just for one night - wish it could have been more, because it was a wonderful hotel! One of the nicest we've ever stayed in, in Paris. I came across the hotel mentioned in a magazine article (in the UK) last year on good value boutique hotels throughout Europe - I saved the article, because I knew it would be useful in the future! It was very easy to book direct on the hotel's website. Our room was gorgeous, right at the top of the hotel in the eaves, which, although it was big, made it feel so cosy! Speaking practically, the room had every possible facility you could need - slippers, dressing gown, shower/bath items, plenty of lovely big soft towels, tea/coffee, big TV, radio, good amount of plug sockets, including a USB slot. The hotel is so clean with lovely decor throughout - you can tell it's been recently renovated. If you have time, you must use the sauna (and small gym) downstairs - it seems brand new, and is a lovely bonus to be able to relax in the sauna before heading out for dinner. The hotel is in a quiet side street, around a 5-10 min walk from the metro at Place de la Bastille. And a nice stroll, either crossing the Pont d'Austerlitz and then along the Left Bank of the river towards Notre Dame, or through the Marais district to reach the centre. And last, but definitely not least, the most outstanding 'feature' of the hotel is everyone who works there. A special mention to Tarek who welcomed us at Reception when we arrived. He was so kind to us, and we will never forget that!

We stayed 4 nights in this quiet, lovely hotel. Excellent location for Gare de Lyon station, and close proximity to variety of restaurants. Our room was small, but clean, with very comfortable bed. We walked miles each day, so we appreciated the fitful sleep we had each night.(fyi- we used this hotel also as our home base to attend the Paris Saint Germain vs Olympic M****ille game while we were in Paris. It was an easy walk to Gare Austerlitz station to catch train to Parcs des Princes Stadium. Lots of restaurants within walking distance of the Parcs des Princes Stadium, approximately 10-15 min stroll depending upon how fast you walk. You'll notice lots of PSG fans in the neighbourhood of the Stadium prior to kick-off having a quick meal). The only minor criticism we had of Hotel Aurore was that we had asked that our safety deposit box in our room #403 be fixed (as the safety deposit box door was locked shut upon our arrival, and needed a technician to reopen it for our personal use) however, no one fixed the problem after we asked politely each morning of our 4 night stay. Therefore, we never had use of the safety deposit box. Disappointing, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

On our first stay we had a smaller room which was very good but this time we paid for a larger room as we were staying for several days. Everything you could want on both occasions and daily bottled water which was much appreciated. The hotel staff are exceptionally pleasant and eager to please . The breakfast buffet is generous and even at busy times there is enough seating. The proximity to the Opera Bastille was a great draw for us plus easy access to the Metro to visit other areas of Paris. If you prefer a hand held hair drier bring your own as the wall mounted hose drier is a bit underpowered but functional. We hope to stay again

We picked this hotel due to its location close to Gare de Lyon, as we were arriving from vacation in southern France the evening before our flight out of France. The room was extremely small, but I feel the small size was well represented on their website. It was exactly as expected. It was also very clean and the staff was welcoming. A bonus was that the windows on the Juliet balcony opened, a nice surprise. I would not stay in this room category (classic double) for more than a stopover as there is no place to open suitcases or place clothes, but I was thought the price was very fair for what I got.

Beautifully designed hotel, they made good use of the space and in the rooms the finishings are super high end. Pillow was great one night and then the next I swear they changed my pillow. Room service is VERY SLOW - they will tell you they are coming but they do not. Staff are generally ok - one very typically rude person at reception, rolled her eyes a few times and was quite unhelpful Had a room without breakfast (Pauls and Laduree are up the road so there is no need to have it in the hotel) You can find street parking easily if needed. We had a kitchenette in our room - which was super useful It's a brilliant location for Champs Elysee shopping and for the George V metro line which takes you into the more central parts. There is no lobby / lounge as such so its worth getting a room where you can relax a bit. We had a deluxe room on the 1st floor

I stayed here with my sister during our holiday in Paris and I can say I was very happy with the choice made! Two-step structure from Moulin Rouge and its metro, 10 minutes walk from MontMartre , a spacious area, open mainly at night, a starbucks in front of the metro stop, then brewery, poke, hamburger, locals for all tastes + a large supermarket (also exactly at the out of the metro). Reception h24 - a little date structure, small stairs and a little uncomfortable but essential room, small, a small closet and a mirror, but for the location and price, for two girls is super recommended! I never had the feeling of being in a bad area, at the evening of a full-fledged, but quiet, and not new, but also here, for the price it is fully presentable and useable. The only sin (which was not a problem for us) is that at night it is not a quiet area, just not having light sleep problems and nothing to revert. The phone and telecommand of the TV are to be requested at the reception. As far as we are concerned, super recommended!

We recently stayed in this hotel as we were having renovations in our apartment. The first thing we noticed was the natural and warm professionalism of the lady on the front desk. Some people are just perfect for working with the public, and it was the case here. Always a natural smile, and ready to help or answer any queries without any hesitation. There is no lift in the hotel, and the stairs are very narrow, which made it a bit complicated with a large suitcase. The lady on the desk offered to help, but we managed. The room was newly renovated, and it was quite small, but this is par for the course in Paris. It had a window to a charming courtyard which was so incredibly quiet, we were able to sleep with the window open without any problems. The sliding door on the bathroom was quite a surprise but we soon got used to it. It was the first time we had stayed in a hotel where there was already a good, strong fan in the room upon our arrival, which was necessary as it was quite warm. The lady who was working in the breakfast room sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed, especially on our last day, when it was very busy and she was working alone. The gentleman on the front desk as we were leaving was very friendly and professional too. All in all I would like to thank to thank the staff for their warm welcome and help. Keep up the good work ;)

Old style hotel which i liked, room was clean and comfortable bed and good shower but that is where the good ended. Location is not the best, not many restaurants around, quite a walk to the Louvre. Be aware there is a tiny lift but there are more stairs on each floor to negotiate with suitcases. I am loyal to Accor and feel as a gold member I received zero benefits. Room was not ready at 3pm (2pm check in) and had to wait with no chairs to sit on, no welcome drink offered, probably the worst room in the hotel, booking said city view instead we had a lovely view of an internal wall and windows on the 3rd floor, incredibly difficult to get a 1 hour late check out, constantly fobbed off to next shift, when finally granted the cleaners kept coming in so we gave up and left. Staff were unwelcoming and generally unhelpful. Felt as if I might have just walked in off the street instead of spending a lot of money this year in Accor hotels, in fact most of the Ibis hotels we used had better rooms and staff. Definitely better hotels in Paris

It is estimated that the overall area could exceed 26 square meters. Of course, the room facilities are also very good, and simple meals can be prepared. There is a Carrefour supermarket in the commercial center downstairs with sufficient goods. There is a farmer's market nearby on weekends, Tuesdays and Thursdays, making life convenient. Stayed here before returning home, and stayed here in France for the first time. I booked it from different platforms. There is an elevator. You can help keep your luggage when you arrive early or check out. The front desk can speak good English. Toothbrush and toothpaste should be prepared by yourself. The space is not big, one person and two luggage can not be opened at the same time, but comfortable. This time I stayed on the six floors and the lighting was very good. I forgot to live on the second or third floor before, and the daylighting will be blocked. It's okay to stay for one night. The location is very close to Lyon Railway Station, very convenient, there are Chinese restaurants (going right and turning left) and sushi restaurants nearby (continue to go along the direction of the Chinese restaurant, diagonally opposite the road), it is quite delicious, not particularly expensive, a meal is ten euros up and down, in that location this price should be OK. This Hotel is in a lovely area of Paris. With good shops and restaurants just across the square in Bercy Village. The metro stop of Saint Cour Emillion, on line 14 is less than 2 minutes walk away, and all around is well lit and pleasant either night or day. We got an official taxi from Charles de Gaulle airport direct to the hotel, for the set rate of 55 euros. So arrived at the hotel at lunch time after our morning flight. Staff were helpful and had already arranged our family 2 rooms together which was great. I’d gone for a room with balcony and could see the Eiffel Tower out there, which was lovely especially at night when it was all lit. We paid in advance for the additional breakfast when booking the rooms. Which was fresh, good quality and an arrangement of hot cooked food, eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, fruit, toast, croissants, breads, fruit or continental breakfast. Plenty of drink choices of assorted teas, coffees and juices. There was something for everyone. The Hotel booked our return taxi at the end of our stay, and was helpful printing out boarding passes and attraction tickets when we asked for no extra charge. There was good WiFi reception throughout the hotel. It was my 2nd time stopping at this hotel the first time being 10 years ago and it was just as nice as before. We would all recommend it.

I spent 2 nights here for a business trip and had a very nice stay. The room was a bit small but the bed is comfortable and large. I am close to 2 meters tall and fit nicely, which is unfortunately something I don’t see in many other hotels. I appreciated the small details of the room. For example, the curtain is super long and close enough to the window in order to prevent any sunlight from coming in. The temperature is nicely regulated and I never found the room to be too hot or too cold. The staff as well were very welcoming and helpful. I dropped my credit card from my wallet by accident when taking out my room key and the staff were kind enough to inform me that they found it and leave it in my room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, comfort, and staff.

Firstly, the price was fantastic. The location is close to a Metro station and a bus stop. It is only 25 minutes from the Eiffel Tower by Metro. It is also close to the train station by bus. The reception area was welcoming they also spoke good English. The room was very clean, and had air conditioning. The shower was great and also clean. Don’t be put off by the stairwell on the road towards the hotel when you first arrive (coming from the metro). It is near a police station, very well lit, so also very safe. I would stay here again!

It’s a new Boutique Hotel with very stylish deco, Clean !! The staffs are very polite and helpful !!! I can say you feel safe when you staying in this hotel. Central location, within 1 mins walk to Metro -Notre-Dame-de-Lorette - which offers direct transport to Saint-Lazare Train Station. It takes you 20 mins to Gare du Nord from hotel !! If you love shopping, the famous Shopping mall Lafayette and Printemp, it takes you 15 mins by walk from the Hotel Bloum. Very convenient and central in Paris ‘ I was staying for 6 days, the breakfast is very simple, without eggs and omelette, coffee is very simple too . Need to improve for the whole breakfast honestly !!! I will stay again if I come back to Paris again !!!!

I had a really good stay here. The other travellers were really friendly. I felt very safe. We hardly bumped into each other in our rooms due to everybody waking and sleeping at different times, but they were respectful in the morning and nights. The rooms were big and the beds were huge! The shared bathrooms were really clean and modern and the showers were really hot (or cold). It was mostly all students staying here or young people, however I did come across a few older people staying, one in my room. Lots of languages are spoken here. Lots of french mainly. I am English. There was also a Spanish speaking guy in my room, and a guy from Thailand. I stayed for three nights. The first time in a 6 bed female dorm and the last two in an 8 bed mixed room. Everybody is super friendly. The staff are friendly, there's lots of them. And there is big spaces with tables to study or eat and chat with each other.

Good location in Montparnasse, the neighborhood is quite calm and quiet which I liked, yet still very Parisian. The closest metro stations (Alésia and Pernety) are 400-650 metres away. Within walking distance there are for example the Catacombs (1.1 km) and Tour Montparnasse (1.3 km). The room had a very comfortable bed, good air-conditioning and a safe. There could be more shelf space and the shower is tiny, so probably not suitable for a larger person. The breakfast was good, baguette, croissants, yogurt, fruits, pastries and such, in addition to sausage and bacon. I could return here.

The location is near the North Station. The traffic is very convenient. There are more black people at night. It is said to be chaotic and the law and order is not good. It is not recommended to run outside. Of course, going to the urban area is another matter. . .
