|4.9km from city centerWe've stayed at several Sandals and generally have positive experiences. This resort was no exception; however, it didn't live up to some of the standards we have come to expect at these resorts. We stayed in a club level oceanview room (OFT). The club staff were friendly and got us a reservation at Butch's on our last minute, ＜7 day trip when the app indicated the restaurant had no availability. (Thanks, Team!) The room itself was clean and had gorgeous views. I liked the plush bench at the foot of the bed. The room was lacking in certain things, such as no room service menu (digital or physical), no loyalty welcome pack, and less than desired water replenishment for the mini fridge. We got these fixed. Food service at the resort was timely and tasty. Our favorite meal was at Butch's (lamb chops!). Wait staff were generally pleasant and friendly. However, one lady at the buffet breakfast got a bit snappy with my husband, when he approached her for a table, instead of directing us to the host stand, which was outside and through a different entrance. She ended up taking us to a table, but it was a poor experience, and one that seemed to be repeated with other guests. Bar and pool staff were friendly and attentive. We had great service at the main/quiet pool and at Latitudes (we also learned what a duppy bat is!). Latitudes made our favorite evening drinks. The biggest impacts to our enjoyment came from the lack of beach etiquette and smoking etiquette. At other Sandals, the beach is cleaned up every day and essentially reset. Beach chairs cannot be claimed overnight (even by the Butlers we've had elsewhere). However, during our stay here there were floaties and belongings (like books) that stayed in place throughout our trip. Not only did this look and feel messy, but it is also frustrating for finding spots. Added to this, people were smoking in non-designated areas. The smoking ares are more prominent than I'd like by the pools, but we also saw people smoking in the pools/hot tub and on the beach. This made the resort feel dirty/messy/sloppy compared to most other Sandals in our experience. While we enjoyed a lot of what this resort had to offer, we would likely stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean if we came back to the area. These resorts have free shuttles back and forth.

First of all, we has to say, the resort itself has a very very beautiful beach, calm ocean, what is good for kids, and the gardens/surroundings are nice as well. So we give it the 2 points. But that is almost all what is good about this place. Here is a list of things we did not like about our stay: - Before our arrival we emailed to the resort a few times (about 3 weeks before arrival date) because we had some questions about our stay, all our emails remained unresponded - upon arrival nobody welcome me as IHG diamond member - upon arrival i did not received my IHG welcome points, i had to asked 2, 3 times the following days - Upon check in we got a room, what was told to us, it would be a room upgrade. The room was horrible and we did not like the view. So we asked for another room (by phone). We were told, a bellman will come and pick our lagguage and bring us to another room. But the bellman did never appear, so we had after 12hrs. of flight, with 2 small kids, to carry our things by ourselves back to reception - after beeing in new room, we could not close the balcony door, it was broken, the maintenance we had to call twice until finally somebody came - there is a safe in room but no instruction, we had again to call some technician to explain this to us - there is a huge fridge in room, but no possibility of bringing drinks to room, only by purchase from store, what is non sense in an all inclusive resort - we got told upon check in, we can use vip club for eat and drink, when we arrived there, they told us, kids are not allowed in there, so we had to search another place to eat, nobody inform us about that policy, we were tired and just want to eat sth fast. by the way at this time we were only guest in that vip club, who would we bother then? - many times in restaurant the soft drink machine runs out of all soft drinks, so we has to drink from 1,5L plastic bottles and share them also with other guests. Assistant manager told us, it is because they ran out of Co2 so they are not able to run the soda machines. Surprisingly the soda machines worked few steps away from the restaurant, at barefoot (pool bar). - For drinks everywhere (also at lunch and dinner) they use old looking plastic cups. The plastic cups they wash so quickly, they still smell from other customers, awful. Not hygienic. - staff who deal with food in restaurant or at the bars are not wearing any gloves, they touch dishes or sometimes also food directly with bare hands, very unhygenic!!! (see picture) - some food you see every day, it looks like from 3 days ago and just heated up. It is like „for the guests just the rests“ theme - there are all day and evening some plates from other guest with remaining food in the hallway, very unhygenic and looking not very tasty (see pictures) - all corridors are also full of sacks with used blankets, feels

The room was beautiful and kept clean and was always stocked. The entertainment was different from what I’ve ever experienced before and it was very interesting. One of the entertainment coordinators, Shanell, intrigued me to join the paint and sip event and it was great time with interesting people. I was even able to keep my masterpiece in the end. All in all I had a great stay and would definitely go again.

|2.51km from city centerExcellent staff from the Wayne the shuttle driver to the front desk clerks Mervina and Beverly and the activities clerk Marsha. Housekeeping and bell hops gave excellent service. Housekeeping surprised me with a beautiful birthday surprise designed with flowers and towels on my bed!! Very clean modern room with large flatscreen had firestick tv steaming! Fridge wasn’t working properly and hot water kept going out but it was fixed quickly. Ice bucket / coffee pot present but must get ice from restaurant. Dining staff very accommodating. Food was ok. Breakfast is complimentary with local menu mixed with American items. Loved eating overlooking the spectacular views of the ocean and planes flying in nearby at MJB airport. Lunch and dinner not comp. I ate down the cul de sac at Peppa’s Restaurant which had amazing food. Property interior is very nice and the views leading to the ocean overlooking the tourist areas spectacular! One can see the The hotel sits on a hill so ging to and from tourist activities like the hip ***** and other tourist attractions nearby is 1.5 miles walking but a 30 min walk around and down the hill. BUT THE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE TOURIST ***** SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTARY. I spent most of my money on shuttle service which only was less then 2 miles!! Each way is $20!!! Free shuttle service should be offered only to the main ***** because it is dangerous walking around a hilly terrain faced with speeding cars and trucks. The location on the map is somewhat deceiving. It’s best to rent a car just to go down the hill. Hopefully shuttle service will change soon and service ran periodically at least 2 times an hour to the ***** and back.

|10.74km from city centerTRANSFER TIME - approx. 20 mins from airport HOTEL STAFF - some of the staff have been fantastic - Kellon (special-K) is a fantastic, wonderful man and we have loved chatting with him. Also a special mention for Trevayne and Gary but this can’t be said across the board. If you have an issue or problem, don’t expect it to be sorted out. The typical response is ‘there isn’t much we can do….’ ROOMS - Rooms are dated and could do with modernising. We had a 2 bedroom part-ocean view in block C (3 accommodation blocks). Block C is furthest away from what I would call the ‘party pool’ and where evening entertainment happens, however, our room was still extremely noisy at night - it is NOT soundproof at all. The wind gusts through the whole suite through poorly fitted doors and windows. The room overlooks the main road on one side which means more noise on top of the wind and on the last night (after no sleep for 7 nights) there was a big wedding right outside of the room with no forewarning from the hotel at all.i have a health condition that relies on getting good sleep and the hotel wasn’t interested in sorting it out in the slightest. Our room also has a kitchenette area (you may see these in the photographs) but don’t expect to be able to use it - there are no pots and pans, crockery etc and no kettle/coffee maker. Other than the fridge - it’s kind of a bit pointless being there. The fridge is stocked with fizzy drink, bottled water and cans of red *****e beer. Rooms are cool enough with the air conditioning (this is from someone who can get very hot and needs good air conditioning). FACILITIES - there are two pools and a man-made beach area. There are more limited sunbeds around the pools compared to the beach which has lots of sunbeds (the ocean is warmer than the pools). I would describe one pool as being quieter than the other. I didn’t visit the gym or spa and didn’t have need for the kids facilities. There is entertainment but we don’t really access this when on holiday so I can’t comment much on it. Sunbed towels are readily available at no extra charge or deposit. FOOD AND DRINK - if you are looking for a traditional ‘buffet’ style eating system then this isn’t for you. There is a buffet for breakfast and lunch but bot for the evening meal. For this you go to one of restaurants having prebooked a table or just turn up and then wait for a table to become available (we never waited longer than 30mins). There is a steakhouse, Italian, Asian food, mexican food. My husband has an unusual food allergy which I tried to sort out with staff but they never seemed to understand what the issue was - so he ended up eating steak for dinner most days and us eating separately so my so and I could wat more varied food. Not what you want on a family holiday, eating in separate locations. I have no idea why we couldn’t pre-order something before the different coatings a d spices were added. a few days which was frustrating. Breakfast is ok - can sometime

All the Staff was very welcoming from reception porter, restaurant and bar staff were all so accommodating and friendly . The hotel Location was awesome right across from beach with free access for Guest. The hotel provides beach towels. Please be aware you have to pay for a lounge chair on the beach. The hotel restaurant was excellent they had a great choice of Jamaica cuisine all inclusive is good value . There is a day time grill bar serving Pizza , hot dogs, fritters , chicken, and chips, There is ice cream , fruit snack available. A small but cosy pool area is available and a hot tub. The cocktails in the main bar well enjoyed where you can sit in or out and listen to my choice of reggae music playing all day. The evening has light entertainment also very good but if you don't want to venture out there lots of bars and clubs on the strip but I chose to stay in the hotel and enjoy the atmosphere with the DJ who had us dancing away the night. I would definitely come back and certainly recommend this friendly hotel.

Thank you Mr. Young, Karen, and Chadilla a/k/a Butler: Waiyaki... Cook: Karen... Room Attendant : Chadilla. Entire resort was clean, picture perfect, and full of friendly, happy staff. Food was over the top and various beaches with beach service including fresh coconut water right out of the shell was amazing. Audrey helped coordinate a private party with calypso band, magnificent beach bonfire and decorations! Joy was always available to provide island bling to buy and Nictoria seemed to be everywhere always remembering our names and favorite beverages. Thank you Half Moon Bay and staff for giving all 10 of us a vacation full of wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

I had issues with the bathroom upon checking in, and the assistant GM immediately upgraded my room and added free massages to compensate for the inconvenience. |2.87km from city centerBe forewarned, this resort is definitely not at all as the photos suggest. We did not expect a five star but this is a 2 or 3, definitely the worst resort we have stayed at. It is quite battered and in desperate need of a major renovation but the rooms they put my family in are just awful. Check-in took an unbelievable hour and forty minutes and it was another two hours and twenty minutes before we got our keys. The lobby was completely chaotic, way too warm and filled with confused, irritated, even angry people trying desperately to check in and get to their rooms after a day of travel. Two of the room keys (note, they are actual keys at this resort) were ”lost” by previous guests which left us feeling quite unsafe. The manager seemed shocked when I suggested the locks should be replaced if the keys are lost. Our rooms are on the ocean (which is nice), but are also on a very busy, noisy road and to our immediate right as we look at the ocean is a chain link, barbed wire fence. It's impossible to take in the ocean view without that eyesore in your sightline. There is a pile of garbage along the fence and actual rats running in front of our room. You read that right. The front and back doors to our room don't fit well. There are gaps which insects are coming in. There are no working lights outside our room. I drew this to the attention of the manager and she just denied the reality, insisting there is adequate lighting. The first two pics were taken at 8:00 PM right outside our room. Twenty yards from the public beach and street and pitch black, but my concerns about feeling unsafe are dismissed. We are here for three nights at the end of an otherwise wonderful Jamaican vacation but are really upset that we paid $2500 USD for our family to stay at a place like this. Make a different choice! Management, don't offend me by sending your auto reply where you end by saying that you hope I will come back so you can do better. I am still here and have given you many chances to make things better.

|3.07km from city centerThe hotel is on a beautiful well maintained property, the room was clean and spacious, staff were generally welcoming with exception for the odd 1 or 2 interactions. However major improvement is required for the checking in process, I stood for 45 minutes waiting to be checked in, this is my second visit, the 1st was long as well but not as long as this occasion. The customer service agent was apologetic and also gave us a bottle of wine for the delay.
I found the food at the main buffet area was quite limited, pasta station had for protein only seafood mix, entertainment was next to non- existing, not much excitement on the beach or pool, sport bar is a no as well
Overall it is a nice property, but not much to do within the property, it was good for relaxation.

We would like to acknowledge the staff in particular that provided service for us. Sharon, Marsha, Valentine, Aqua man, and Lisa. The food was the best we have ever had in ANY restaurant. We loved the his and hers sink area which kept us organized. We had turn down service, and every staffer that passed us by offered a greeting with a smile. I took aerobics class everyday and cooked on the beach. We met the manager, Dean who was receptive of all out comments. Our only complaint about our trip was a delayed flight! We would recommend to everyone that this is a wonderful place to go.
