I picked this one as it happened to be quite cheap and near a client site, but honestly don't feel in a hurry to return. Upon entry, I didn't get a particularly welcoming reception: the grumpy receptionist handed me a form to write out more details (why wait until then and not capture this information when the reservation was made?) then informed me how much I'd need to pay, which confused me as it was supposed to have been booked and paid for by my company - it seems the credit card they had on file was simply to guarantee the room, not pay for it (I later found out that Ibis didn't respond to an email sent by the company so never took payment). I had a room on the first floor, taking the lift (it wasn't until the second day did I find there was a staircase through the unmarked door next to the lift). The room was quite basic and small with a bland 80's-style decor, fairly plain, featuring a small desk over in front of the window, a small TV on a cabinet to the foot of the be and a narrow washroom to the back. Two power points were located over at the desk - there were none over near the bedside; the bed had wall-mounted lamps and shelves either side that were larger than I expected and (at least they didn't take up a bedside shelf with the room phone). Despite no heating it was well-insulated, quite stifling with the heat: opening the window quickly was quickly ruled out as the hotel is situated on a busy junction so there's plenty of traffic noise, and this room was directly over the entrance so caught wafts of cigarette smoke from those frightened of straying too far from the hotel entrance for their puff of foul air. I ended up keeping the window shut and leaving the aircon on a low-blow setting to get the temperature down. Wifi worked and was okay; not blisteringly quick but sufficient to get work done in the evening. Note that you'll need to keep clicking on their landing page each day to initiate a connection - it's not automatic so I missed some messages. The breakfast basic but sufficient - I wasn't expecting anything grand and there's a fair range of items for a continental breakfast plus fruit, nuts, juice, coffee, etc. Despite having breakfast several days it was only the last day when I was asked for a room number. There's a bar for some drinks at night but on many occasions this was left unattended, so expect a bit of a wait if you're looking at relaxing there one evening. For what I wanted, it did the job - but it's not the first time I've stayed in an Ibis and the quality of customer service plus basic amenities reminded me why they're far from my first choice of hotel.

Hotel is next to Schwebeban rail and Wupper river. There is no hotel parking so You need to leave You car nearby on public street (paid) parking. There is couple of restaurants in walk range. Staff is friendly and breakfast is decent. Internet is free but slow in evenings and in my room signal was weak.

A nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. The newly refurbished rooms may be a bit stark, but the aircon and plumbing worked perfectly - always a plus. There is an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast included in the price. Also included is a travel pass for public transport throughout the state of NordRhein-Westfallen. The "Business Rooms" are well worth the extra, providing more space with bathrobes and slippers a bonus. Some of the standard rooms can suffer from traffic noise. Although just across the road from Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) getting there can be difficult. The best option is to use the pedestrian bridge from the bus station.

Not an enjoyable experience - quick to take your money but slow to produce service. Really poor quality, run down rooms and a dishonest manager, the less said the better but I will not book at this establishment again.

so easy to find from station, bit of renovation there but just follow zentrum sign and the hotel is straight ahead next to the vodaphone shop, about 10 mins max. rooms clean and comfortable; extensive breakfast buffet and the lovely lady who runs it cooks a perfect sunny side up fried egg. frank at reception is very helpful and friendly with perfect english, he knows almost everything about the town and can look up rail and bus times with unlimited patience. thank you frank for all your recommendations. we hope to return again.

This is a very new hotel, opened in 2019, and parts of the building are not quite finished (there is an empty area at the ground floor which doesn't create the most welcoming atmosphere). As new as it is, I found the carpet in my room already a bit stained and not too great looking - I'm not a huge fan of carpeting in hotel rooms anyway. And if you look closely, you see other little imperfections in an otherwise acceptable room. I appreciated the large room safe, that's really a good feature, it's large enough even for a bigger laptop computer. The location is also very convenient, near Wuppertal's main railway station. Breakfast was good. Still, I was tempted to give this hotel only a a rating of three points due to its lacking attention to detail, and I was also not quite convinced by the housekeeping of the bathroom. But thanks to the friendly, personable reception staff, I think I still can give it four points.

I stayed in two suites at Park Villa for a business trip this week for 4 nights. First the positives (and there are many). The inside and small back garden of the hotel are beautiful. I stayed in 2 different suites which were both amazing in comfort and style. Dominique who worked in reception during the evening was lovely. He was extremely kind and helpful and really tried to make my stay enjoyable. So why have I given this hotel a poor rating? Mainly for one reason - the lady who works in reception during the day. She is truly one of the rudest people working in hospitality I've ever come across and I travel all over the world all the time. It was as if for some reason she took a personal dislike to me. Case in point, this morning I went down for breakfast and without even saying good morning she informed me I could not sit in the front room - I'd have to sit in the side room which I said was absolutely fine. I then asked her colleague for the wi-fi password. He didn't know so asked her to tell me. In front of a room full of other guests, she loudly reprimanded me saying "You've been here for 4 nights, why don't you remember the wi-fi passcode?" This given her own colleague who works at the hotel didn't know the passcode. This was just one example of how this woman treated me. Incredibly rude to a paying guest from a large corporate client. Finally, I wouldn't be fooled by the images of the front of the hotel on the website. I am attaching an image of the view in front of the hotel (also the view from my first room). Not exactly a beautiful countryside. Shame - lovely hotel but I will never stay there again and cannot recommend it to my colleagues or other travellers.

Very recommended to stay, cost-effective, the environment is very good. Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in.
