Prince George offers a lot of accommodations - but we went with this motel as it is centrally located and near the highway for our road trip. The exterior of the hotel is clean and simple - nothing much changed. However, the interior rooms have been renovated much to our delight. The decors and the washrooms have been upgraded. The furnishings are also generous - a sink, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, small dining table, extra chair, office desk, and chair and even a little table- besides the bed and the night tables. The wifi and cable services were pretty reliable and helped us pass the time away easily. The bathroom is decent, and I should say the shower is quite relaxing with the proper shower head setting. I took two showers in this room, as it was really relaxing - the misty pressure of the water is good for those sore backs and shoulders. The beds were comfortable along with the pillows. We had a good night's sleep and awoke refreshed and ready to complete the rest of our road trip to Vancouver. The only thing is the parking on this location - it can be packed and it becomes a challenge to find a spot when all the spots are already taken. When we came back from dinner - we were lucky to find a parking spot amidst the taken ones. If the motel is full, you can expect to park out on the street, which might not be the most convenient of options. Overall, we would stay here again because it was cozy and the price was right, but we will always be wary about the parking space.

Grama's was a wonderful and homey place to stay for us. Our family had 3 rooms!! One handi-accessible and 2 regular rooms. Our Dad had to have a room change from the 'noisy end' to the family end of the Inn..and the front desk lady was super helpful, she had the switch done in about half an hour! My bro was very happy with his roll in shower room (the sliding bathroom door is kinda difficult for anyone to manouver though). There is a communal outdoor area with picnic tables, umbrellas etc. Lots of flowers that are very well looked after. The restaurant is really comfy..good food and entertaining staff. Anyone in our family will definitely stay here again. Huge thankx to Dawn, Patsy, Hans, Chrissy, Shane, Sherrie, Michelle and the Kitchen Dude!! You made our 5 night trip wonderful. (oh..and make sure you eat your orange slice at breakfast!!) The only reason I gave the property rating 4 out of 5 is the darn shared parking lot area with the next door fast food drive thru..the ONLY drawback!

After a long day of business travel you can imagine our delight when we entered our room. Fourteen foot ceilings, a kitchen, a dining room, a fireplace and a giant master bedroom with a jacuzzi tub in it. Not to mention two bathrooms! I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and it was wonderful to receive an upgrade. We only wish we had been able to stay longer. Service at the front desk was prompt and friendly! We will return.

We stayed there Sunday night and I could not have been more pleased. We got a room upgrade and had a lovely king sized bed , fireplace and soaking tub. I loved that tub!! I made sure I had a few good floats. The room was spacious and lovely. The hotel was nicely designed and elegant. My only complaints.. the king sized bed footboard stuck out and my boyfriend and I wacked our knees and shins numerous times.. I suggest you remove this. Also... there is a window between the bathroom and bedroom... that doesn't close around the edges... so prepare that if you are not there alone.. you will smell and hear everything! They also did an amazing thing for us.. because I am a frontline worker they gave me great deal.

We stayed here as a family (myself, husband, 18-year-old son, 21-year-old daughter) and booked both beautiful rooms at the Grateful Bed B&B. We were Ted and Joyce's first booking after Covid-19 allowed for domestic travel in B.C. We're normally a family that loves to fly to exotic destinations, but decided 2020 was the year to get to know and appreciate our own backyard. From Vancouver, we had never travelled to Prince George, but this year incorporated it as one destination on our "get-to-know part of B.C." vacation. As I planned the holiday, I tried to find unique accommodations that would suit my family's wish list: welcoming, interesting, personal, spotless, and, well, maybe Canadian. The Grateful Bed definitely fit all these criteria. The two rooms and bathroom and private kitchen area are bright, welcoming, had a great decor, and are spotlessly clean. When we arrived, there was cake and a beautiful chilled pitcher of iced tea - most welcome on a very hot day. The breakfasts on both days were certainly the best I'd ever experienced in a B&B anywhere. My daughter is vegetarian and had so many options to choose from. Beautiful berries were part of each day's breakfast in the fruit salad. One day a vegetarian frittata, another pancakes. There were sausages, hash browns, Irish soda bread (everything homemade), jams and jellies... muffins... sure I'm forgetting something. And in case you were somehow hungry later, there were snacks in the fridge! The property has an impeccably-kept garden that was in full, radiant bloom for our visit at the end of July. Joyce and Ted are amazing hosts and were there to answer any question or concern we had. We loved Prince George, too. A fantastic community with tons to do - we checked out the rail and forest museum and the Ancient Forest one day, another day we visited beautiful Fort St. James. Prince George itself has so many parks! We found the locals super friendly and will definitely return. If Prince George is part of your next travel plan, I highly recommend the Grateful Bed B&B and its hosts, Ted and Joyce. I'm sure, as we found, it will be your "home away from home."

Had the pleasure of stay at North Star Inn hotel in Prince George and i will recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I stayed with my husband for hospital visit and location is very convenient across from the safeway and Red Robins restaurant. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and staff was helpful. They now have restaurant opened on site and it came very handy for morning breakfast.

The hotel is beautiful inside but it is probably poorly built since we could hear our neighbors pretty well and the people who stayed above us (stomps we could feel since everything was trembling). We came for 4 nights with 1 yo baby and instead of a bed we got a playpen! With this cardboard “matress” that even a dog wouldn’t be able to sleep in. Luckily we were smart enough to bring our own little matress from home but still it is NoT a baby bed! It’s a camping playpen!!!! The shower is nice and has a good stream BUT all the water sprinkles out of it so be careful not to slip and break your head when you get out cause there is a sea of water at the end. Again, not practical with a baby at all! Btw, it doesn’t have a vent so it will be foggy and hot for a while after a shower. There is no view at the 2nd floor- a roof.. and we chose to eat/have coffee outside.. They do have an underground parking so that is a plus.. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean. Overall- will NOT stay again..

This hotel provides good value of just looking for a good nights sleep in a clean room. It’s in a good central location, staff are friendly, price is good. My only complaint is the walls seem quite thin. You can hear your neighbors talking (word for word), for example. Beyond that the hotel is good. As for the breakfast, given this covid environment, I don’t know of any hotels offering their “free” breakfast at the moment. I doubt they have adjusted their rate to account for this, if they have then great! But if they haven’t, I’m ok with that, as like many businesses they’re just doing their part to stay in business, and that small rate adjustment wouldn’t make a big deal anyways.

Prices are great and we used to stay here often. They have renovated and did a good job but......We opened the door to our room and should have left. It was obvious the floor hadn't been swept up, wall behind bathroom door was dirty and the molding looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the reno's. When we left the room for supper a few doors down a guy is standing in his doorway smoking pot and this was before it was legal. Another guy is sitting in his room doorway smoking and by the looks of his room didn't leave it much. There were cigarette butts everywhere. The blanket on our bed went onto the floor and stayed there - stains on it. If we hadn't been so tired we would have asked for another room and at about 1AM in the morning we wished we had - party happening with lots of noise and swearing. In the morning beer cans below the balcony showed that a fun time was had by someone. We also found hair in the tub in the morning and it wasn't ours. The restaurant was great - great service and food. And, the staff at the hotel are very nice. We have stayed here before and this is the first time we have been dismayed about how unclean things were and the noise.

My friend and I stayed 1 night here and before we even settled in we looked at everything. The bed was dirty, sheets had hair in them, bed skirt was filthy, we couldn't get the bath tub taps turned on, sketchy people around I was worried my truck would get broken into. I didn't see any bugs tho. Holes in the walls from where pictures hung made us wonder? Fortunately I carry blankets and an emergency sheet in my truck so we put that on top of bed and used my blankets. The ONLY REASON we stayed was because I paid for the room prior to seeing it and it was not possible to get a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE. The pictures are not true to how the room actually looks. The door was really hard to lock. Seriously do not stay here.

Our family booked two rooms, and the hotel also specially gave two connected rooms. It was very intimate; the original plan was to book for two days, and the result was no room the next day, so we changed to a hotel next to us, we left I forgot a thing when I found it, and I found it very smoothly after I came back. Everything else is OK. The hotel price here is higher.

Each room is an independent cabin. The twin room we lived in was not large and the bathroom was small. Each bed was not big. I barely took a four-year-old child to sleep. It felt a little crowded. I called the customer service and asked for a toothbrush. After waiting for an hour, no one sent and called again. I waited for nearly an hour. At one o'clock in the morning, the door knocked loudly. The child was frightened. I was very angry. Feedback to Ctrip customer service. I feel that Ctrip is very reliable. After apologizing, the hotel waived the cost of breakfast. Talking about the charming place. The scenery is really beautiful. Walking in the path by the lake in the morning. Watching the sun shine on the door of the room. Little squirrel and big goose are taking a leisurely walk. Reluctant to leave the price of more than three thousand if not the scenery is really not as good as the price of only one third of the Calgary Airport terminal

Stay at the hotel after 900 km drive. In the city centre, parking is convenient and free. As the city is built on a hillside, the room you stay in can be seen high to see the entire city. Temporary booked room, the price is also very suitable. The breakfast buffet is quite rich. Very suitable for children, the bed is large. Standard rooms can be fully occupied 2 big 2 small. In the evening, there are very slow and slow kilometers of trains passing by. I saw such a long train for the first time. It was so special. The children enjoyed it. Although the hotel is a two-story wooden house, there is still an elevator. There is a hot spring with two pools on the second floor. It is really cool to watch the hot springs in the evening.
