Great location for a couples holiday, we opted for half board and we're never disappointed with quality, choices or quantity. The waiting staff were very attentive and prompt. The food was standard Italian fare, fresh and not fancy, if this is not to your liking then why are you choosing Sicily for a holiday? If you like burgers and chips this is not the place for you. Some of the other reviews on here made us a little anxious of what to expect but we were pleased with everything, OK the building is not new and some things are a little tired, however if you want a hotel across the road from the beach Sporting Baia is one of the most modern ones along the coast of Naxos. We upgraded our room with a balcony and a sea view, I would recommend this to anyone so you get the very best of this location. If you want a modern hotel with all the trimmings you will need to book somewhere further out of town and get a taxi or shuttle bus into town. There is a good hop on hop off tourist bus route around the coast, a weekly ticket cost us €33.60 per adult and is great value and much less hassle than driving and parking. Sporting Baia has a bus stop across the road from the hotel so this is another reason for the hotel being a great choice.

Silvio and Luciana were so lovely to us during our stay in Giardini Naxos! They texted me prior to our arrival with all the transport information we needed to get to the B&B, and swiftly replied to any questions we had. Once we arrived, they gave us so many great recommendations for places to go - Italian bus schedules can be difficult to understand, but with their help we had no problem navigating our way around Sicily. Giardini Naxos is not an expensive town, but this B&B offers discounts at several restaurants (even a few in Taormina), and for beach sun beds in a prime location. It’s a great place to stay for travellers like us on a tight budget. The B&B is very central; we didn’t have to walk far to get anywhere, and the beach is barely a minute’s walk! We would recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a cosy place to stay in Sicily with a personal touch. We loved our stay here, and we were sad to leave!

We arrived late evening, to a warm welcome from Bridgette in reception,we found her very helpful when we encountered problems connecting to the wifi. Later in the the week Pina in reception was most helpful in booking tours and at the end of our stay checkout was hassle free. Overall the room was spacious and included everything that we needed. The room maids did a very good job and were very pleasant. We had a large balcony overlooking the pool. The pool and grounds were spotless and there were plenty of sun loungers on most days, maybe for some busy days there should be more available as there is enough space in the lawn area. The bread van in the morning was a nice touch, as was the facility to purchase water, beer and wine at reception. These self catering apartments are located in a quiet peaceful area just a short walk to the seafront and in the opposite direction to the bus stop for Taormina.

Wonderful hotel with very nice owners. We spent 1 week in this place and had only good memories. Good location (the sea is in 3 minutes maximum), cozy room with romantic atmosphere, amazing view on the sea and Taormina. Breakfast was served every day on our balcony by the owner. True Italian breakfast 😋 We had small problems with the WI-FI, but it is not the critical point. Thank you very much for our wonderful memories!

Villa Cristina is a really nice B&B, you can count with perfectly clean room and public spaces, enough towels, shampoo and soap as well. The service although is far from being perfect. First of all, when I booked my reservation, there was no information that I needed to pay extra in order to use the pool (and it's not even cheap). Second, some members of the staff seem to not know how to communicate politely with guests. And third, it seems like they lack on organization, since my booking was meant to be paid later by credit card and they asked me to pay at the check-out. Meaning they wanted to charge the value twice. Overall I didn't dislike the experience, but it could've been better. Nice location anyway and the air conditioner is a really valuable point in the summer.

Not a good experience for us. Trip Advisor did indicate the warning signs before we arrived but there was evidence of improvement in the reviews. We were on a tour so had little choice. It is now obvious that 'the wool was being pulled'. We have to agree the hotel is an ideal location with potentially good facilities. The food offered was average for a 4* local hotel. The hotel public areas and our guest room were very clean and well serviced by the housemaid. However there was a great deal wrong with this establishment beyond the officious and non-approachable reception staff. Most were officious and not very approachable. E.g. as we checked out and having paid I found a mistake with my extras bill and was informed it was my fault as I had agreed it and they could do nothing about a refund as I had used a credit card. Also in no particular order: *on arrival it took 90 minutes for our bags to get anywhere near our room. In the end I went and got them. * the restaurant opening times were too restrictive for both breakfast and dinner. This meant far too many guests were trying to be served at any one time. On our last day, 19th Oct., the first coffee was not served until 0750. We were leaving at 0815. * one staff member seemed to be on duty all of the time in the dining room we were there, he was friendly and efficient. He was one of few. * there were numerous trip hazards in the lobby and corridors. * there were very limited plug sockets in our room. I.e. I had to unplug a light in order to charge a phone. * the WiFi offered was intermittent and required numerous logins throughout the day.. * the shower head was scaled up and did not flow. The shower door did not close fully which meant leaks. There was rust and scale all around the bottom of the shower glass and fittings. * the bedroom shutters urgently need a service and are noisey. * the bedroom was far too hot even with the door open all day and night. * we asked for a few more hangers but none arrived. * the gilt had rubbed off nearly everything which gave an impression of a run down hotel with little investment. In places they are trying to improve. E.g. new doors and locks on some rooms and WiFi throughout. The above are a few areas of feedback but our main complaint was the lack of approachability of the reception staff. On various days we heard them tell member of our group or us, 'it is hot because there is no air conditioning in October.' 'The air conditioning does not work in rooms.' 'It is not our problem, we will get maintenance to assist when they next available.' There was one member of hotel staff to the right of reception who constantly shouted across at colleagues in the centre of reception even when there were guests there.

We liked everything about this B&B. Owner Francesco & his son Gabriele are friendly, helpful and speak English. You won't believe the outstanding breakfast choices. The grounds are filled with every kind of fruit and nut tree. Luscious gardens. Patios or balconies for every room. Easy access for day trips to Etna, Alcantara, or Taormina. Use GPS system to get to B&B. We drove to nearby bus stop to catch the bus up to Taormina, for only 3 Euro each. Close to Giardini Naxos beaches. We love this B&B

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights, we took 3 rooms on the 3rd floor. All rooms were spacious and had a balcony overlooking the sea which was quite nice and we had plenty of coffees on the balconies. Beds were good and comfortable, relatively small TV but these days who uses the TV? We all come with our own screens - I don't think I opened it even once. Nice bathrooms though the towels are not close to the shower which causes you to either put it someplace else or exit the tub to get a towel. Each morning we got two complimentary bottles of water (one flat and one sparkling). The room also includes a pot, tea bags (3 kinds), instant coffee and sugar. Breakfast is the usual european hotel breakfast - eggs, bacon, salamy, ham, bread, , cereal, jam. Plenty of sweets including cannoli. Water, juices, hot beverages and some fruit. The minus of the breakfast was the fruit were not as fresh as one would expect (they looked like they were there for a while), and no fresh vegetable salad, they usually had some lettuce, and red peppers/tomatos/cucumbers/olives. I'm Israeli I like vegetable salad and I was missing that or even the option to mix some vegetables on my own. The pool was very cold, even while swimming (I'm a fast swimmer) I couldn't warm up so I didn't return, you have access from the hotel right to the beach which was very nice for walking, sunbathing and getting into the water. Bring sandals as the beaches in Sicily have a lot of pebbles. Staff was very helpful and friendly and also spoke good English.

Nice small hotel in the heart of Giardini Naxos. Room was spotless clean due to the great everyday work of the housekeeping personal. Very pleasant receptionists were Always ready to help with any questions. Beach is just 5 min walk distance from the hotel and we could borrow beach towels in the hotel. There are many nice restaurands in the neighbourhood, but our favourite was definitely Lido Dromedaio - directly near the beach. It is real pearl of Giardini Naxos with its fantastic view, friendly personal and delicious food. We will definitely return to San Giovanni! :)

Sow we arrived at villaggio artemide and I was so pleased with location overlooking Mount etna absolutely beautiful! The bungalow was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool was clean and peaceful sometimes we even had the pool to ourselves. We used the local supermarket which was 10 mins walk it was huge selling everything you needed. We filled up fridge and got some washing up liquid too and sponge for sink. First night I cooked as it was getting on and some mornings I cooked breakfast. The local beach is 10 min walk which has few beach restaurants etc and plenty of sun loungers. There is another stretch of beach which my children loved on gardinia Naxos front which was quite a trek so we always got a bus or taxi (10 euros) for taxi. You can walk it but it was bit far for my children The beach at gardinia Naxos had lots to offer and some amazing restaurants on beach front and shops etc. Some. Evenings we even went there for meals, the night porter at hotel sabastenio is so lovely. He offered to be oir taxi service and was super friendly. We just used to call him for lifts and organise things. Then we used the bus which was easy and great. There's bus stop outside hotel but we never saw a bus maybe we missed it but we used the stop up the road near a hotel and it came every 30 mins or so. I'm sure there's others that come even more requarly but we used this as it was easy to walk to and we knew it well. The bus was great took us to taoramini which was absolutely stunning place. We went there twice and with one night being late got taxi service home calling Sebastiano which was 20 euros back. One day we visited we got bus back with it being early. There are 2 local good restaurants near the hotel walking distance very good value, we ate in one of them twice but most nights visited gardina Naxos, taurimina and if you go further down road in car or 30 min walk there's a lovely little road of restaurants and hotels we're I had one of the bestest pastas in my life! Once our parents came we hired a car and visited the famous "godfather village" which was really authentic and a must see very traditional otnal and wonderful. We. Also went to castle de more absolutely breathtaking. My overall experience of this place was amazing, I'll never forget it and the accommodation was perfect for what we wanted.

3 points for 3 star hotel. I believe its fair enought! Especially if we consider the price for a night in comparing with other 3 star hotels in Europe. But however I would like to point out with BIG PLUSES on following: * The young man on the reception with the name Francesco is amazing, kind and really friendly. You may count on him for any requests and questions * Assistance of the personel in hotel was really good in order to get great service regarding to needs in the room or any kind of reqierments that you might have * Croasans with the chocolate are amazing and I believe that those ones are homemade * Overall experience with the hotel stuff is positive Description of the room: Room is spaceous, clean, and good enough for what you actually need. Bathroom is ok, might need a bit renovation, and essentials such as: shampoo, shower gel... also hair dryer is not power enough, and couldnt hold on for more then 1 minute of being active. Half board service: Breakfast is okay, but its repetative not much news regarding the menu set up. Dinner :) contains self service buffet with great vegatables. And for the main menu you are up to choose between two meals. Also,if you find that you need a change of the HB menu dont forget that close to the hotel you may find plenty of restaurants that are amazing as well. Sicily sightseeing: This is mandatory cause you didnt come here only for a hotel and its service experience! You are here for much more. My recommendation if you are here with the car go visit: Aeolian Islands!! ( choose one or more there are 7 islands) Taormina, Etna, Siracuse, Beaches of Noto: San Lorenzo, Beaches of Letojanni... Also you dont need navigation just install offline map over the app Here we Go!! Kind regards for Hotel Alexander team hope to see you soon!!

Great resort hotel! Beautiful environment, complete facilities, swimming pool, playground, health room, beach... The beach is not very good, but the seaside scenery is very good, from the beach to the west you can see the Etna volcano. There are two restaurants for breakfast, but we only went to one for four days, and the Western breakfast was very rich. If you go to Sicily next time, you will choose to stay at this hotel.

Great hotel for 2 **. Near bus stops. Has its own parking. 10-15 minutes a large supermarket. Opposite there is a shop, a fruit shop and a pastry shop. In 10 minutes the beach is pebbly. 20 minutes from the hotel is a sandy beach. From the balcony you can see the volcano Etna .. Near the highway and railway. At night, the trains do not go. The room has a shower, hairdryer, TV, air conditioning and blinds. Cleaned daily. Change linen and towels. Very good WF-i. It catches everywhere and quickly. The hotel is clean, comfortable. For breakfast they give yoghurt, coffee, croissants, bread, cheese, butter and jams. Enough.Coffee is delicious. The owner of the hotel Pietro is very friendly and helps to solve any problem. Prompts where and how best to go and go. If the railway does not scare me (the trains did not bother me.), Then the hotel is an excellent place for a business trip or vacation.

My friend and I have just returned from a week in this beautiful little hotel. Described as small and friendly, which is exactly what it is. Excellent standard of accommodation which is far superior to the official 3 star rating. The whole hotel and grounds are immaculately kept, and it’s within steps of the bus stop and 10 minute walk to the sandy Lido di Naxos beach. A 20 minute bus ride takes you to Taormina and it’s quaint little streets, designer shops and so many lovely eateries. Breakfasts were simple but a delicious choice each day. The Sicilians definitely like their cake! The Sicilian evening that the hotel holds weekly is a nice break to the otherwise peaceful evening meals, the staff have as much fun as the guests. We ate in the hotel 3 times, and I agree that it is a little pricey, but good quality, if a limited menu. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance though. What makes this hotel so special is the staff and the hotel owner who is very hands on. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mentions to those that helped make our holiday special go to the ever smiling Claudia on reception, Lorenzo, Vincenzo & Eugenia in the bar & restaurant and of course Tarno the boss. This isn’t a lively hotel, and the fact that it is so friendly rubs off on the guests. I’ve never talked to so many fellow travellers in one hotel before. You can’t help but relax here. If I go back to this area I would definitely stay here again, and can highly recommend it to others. But go and you decide.

Located just at the end of the main resort (opposite end to the train station) this beautiful hotel is tucked quietly on the sea front. A wonderful sea water pool surrounded in plenty of sun beds and direct access into deep sea via steps. The location is perfect with a good selection of restaurants on the nearby strip, all within walking distance. A bus stop at the end of the lane to take you to the surrounding resorts and Taormina train station (taxis are VERY expensive in Sicily). the rooms are beautifully decorated with plenty of space and very clean. We were in Sicily for 2 weeks and travelled about staying in a number of different places. this place was by far the best. It is old and perhaps a little tired but I just felt I was in the middle of a Poirot scene. the staff are very helpful and friendly. If I could single out any particular group it would be reception who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful in planning and advising on what to do and how to do it. The breakfast had plenty of choice and a selection of freshly cooked eggs, bacon etc. cant comment on the lunch or dinner as we chose to eat out. I would definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend Arathena Rocks Hotel.

We returned a week ago from a fabulous trip to Sicily where we stayed at hotel Palladio. We were very warmly welcomed and found all the staff and manager extremely helpful and friendly. We had an issue with the aircon in the second bedroom of the deluxe family suite but the hotel gave my daughter an extra room free of charge ( with very efficient aircon!) for the duration of the stay. It was next door to us and made sleeping for her much more comfortable. Special thanks to Fiorella for dealing with this and for being so charming and helpful. She also presented me with a delicious home made cake on my birthday- it was unexpected but really made my day! We took the deluxe family suite on the second floor and had 3 balconies , 2 overlooking the square with the church in front and sea to the left, and one balcony overlooking the sea. It was great to watch the world go by below us , and the church bells would randomly play various “songs”! The hotel breakfasts were delicious, fresh organic fruit , grilled vegetables, frittata, a range of homemade cakes and pastries - always enjoyable and again the staff were very friendly and courteous. I recommend eating in the hotel restaurant too, it’s on the fourth floor terrace full of plants and overlooking the sea. Our stay was great, however if you want to get out and explore, the first two weeks in August are not for you! It was unbelievably hot so all we did was Bob about in the sea everyday. The hotel lends to parasols and beach towels, this makes going on the public beach do- able as you definitely need shade. Lido de Angelo is a private beach in front of the hotel, hotel offers a discount and this is well worth taking up for a treat. The sea is crystal clear and the beach is pebbly, snorkelling around the rocks is a must. I would highly recommend the hotel Palladio ! Emma, Warren, Ellie and Joe Stokes

A family of four we stayed here for 10 days. It was our first self catering holiday abroad as a family. The check in was easy and we were let into the apartment about an hour early. The supermarket is around a ten minute walk away along one road so very easy. To walk into the nicer part of Giardini Naxos is around half an hour walk. We ate lunch on arrival in the bar which was expensive as expected. Coke etc is €2.50 for a 330ml bottle - ice cream in a basic cone is the same. The apartment we were in was 2 bedrooms. It was fine - I would mention that they don’t have a tea towel, cloths or anything else you may need to keep it clean yourself so you have to purchase those if you want it cleaned more than the once weekly. Towels are changed every three days. The rooms had remnants of previous guests - a small part of a necklace, dust balls etc. The balcony only had 2 chairs at the table which was annoying as a family of four. The kitchen area consisted of a 2 ring hob and sink. The pots and pans supplied won’t fit on both hob rings at the same time which is frustrating. All of the above sounds negative but I think some of it is to do with us not knowing what to expect. The pool was great. No one reserves sunbeds and you can rock up at any hour and get one. The pool stays open late and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed. The animation team are just here in July and August. They are friendly enough but only speak Italian. There is football, water polo and aqua gym as well as mini disco. You have to wear a swimming hat in the pool which you can buy for €2 at the bar. The place is a great base to explore the local area which we did via a weekly bus pass. Very locally we are at the restaurant at the top of the road but best deal has to go to Alfios pizza with three large pizzas for €15! Go back out to the main road and turn left. All in all a good stay. We had breakfast included which is continental and fine for what it is. Not sure I would pay €7 pp though as we don’t eat much for breakfast. A good base and enjoyable stay at Villaggio Alkantara.

We booked this trip through Secret Escapes and flew BA. Firstly the good bits. Nice hotel, well maintained and clean. Great pool area and the water temperature was refreshing but fine. We had a nice room with large balcony overlooking the pool and views out to sea (room 108). The breakfast was a buffet and fine but more about that later. We were on ‘half board’ and had a choice of three items for each of four courses. Great choice, food very well presented and cooked (but very few vegetables). Now the not so good bits. The hotel is listed as 5 star but from previous experience we sort of knew this was not likely to be the case. The facilities in the hotel with a Spa may rate the stars but my view of 5 star is as much if not more about service. In this respect I’m afraid it fell well short. The staff were in general fine, Alex was particularly helpful, but I think there was something missing in terms of overall management and possibly a shortage of staff. Some examples. To be greeted and someone take your cases would be a nice way to start especially as there a dozen or so steps to get up to reception. There shouldn’t be any question about your cases being taken to the room for you, preferably while you are enjoying a welcome drink. Breakfast, while the food choice was generally alright it was a bit hit and miss with some things not being available every day. But the big issues were the queuing for the coffee machine and the staff chasing their tails being reactive rather than proactive. The queuing for coffee was aggravating and caused a lot of annoyance and it wasn’t even really busy while we were there. Another machine would have helped or the staff delivering tea or coffee at the table, as in most hotels we’ve stayed at. I think it’s the lack of a Maitre D’ checking the food and drink levels are being maintained because on numerous occasions we had to ask if there was any more of a particular item. The staff did react on request but the general feeling was that they were quite stressed. There were drinks available from the pool bar but you did have to go to the bar to order. A bit petty I know but sun bed service is offered at many hotels we have stayed at. Generally the staff were helpful but not overly so. As an example when I asked if there was an ATM the receptionist said down by the water front, not a specific place. There is a courtesy bus to Taormina, which is very useful, it returns at 17.45, 18.45, 19.45 and 21.45. Why not one at 20.45??? Lastly -location. Well it’s not on the seafront, it is rather tucked away around the back. The unfortunate part is that you have to walk through some rather low grade areas to reach the water front. Would we go back? Probably not.

Recently I visited the Kalos Hotel in Giardini Naxos.Overall, I can say I enjoyed my stay mainly due to the room we were allocated. But there were many things about the hotel that could be improved. We had a lovely seaview balcony and the room was cleaned and refreshed daily. The cleaning lady was wonderful, even changing the sheets mid-week. The breakfast was boring, same everyday. I noticed the dinner buffet and it didn't look at all inviting. The empty pool area was disgraceful, what an eyesore! It's a shame because the location of the hotel is wonderful, and it has so much potential. The hotel needs total refurbishment,it's tired, dated and I wonder about all the cracks in the walls. We used the pool of the hotel next door, and that was enjoyable. Also had lunch there, and the food was very tasty. The staff too so efficient, one in particular who filleted my Dorada at the table! Dario the waiter at the Kalos was a breath of fresh air about the place. He always had a smile and could break into song at any moment. The Wi-Fi at the hotel I have to say was excellent.Maybe this is a sign of things to come,I hope so! It's one of the last hotels on the strip, but there are a couple of good restaurants nearby. The beach at the hotel is quite rocky, but about 15mins walk there is a sandy beach. We visited Taormina, it's a nice spot for lunch and shopping.Just be careful of the bus you get coming back, as not all of them stop at the hotel on the return journey. We were literally dumped quite a distance away. I would love to return to the Kalos when it has been refurbished, but at the moment it needs a lot of work.

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms a little dark and bathroom small. But, so what, go outside and enjoy the beach right in front of you. Great breakfast, from a room with fab views. Being requir d to pay for wifi and Internet in this day and age is a little strange

Hotel facilities are very good, very close to the Four Corners factory and major attractions. A little distance from the train station and the airport bus stop. The front desk staff was very helpful in solving the problem. More than 810 yuan is worth living.

__LW_NL__ ›

The room is super big, and the boxes are just spread out. Because Palermo is not big, it is convenient to go anywhere. The front desk provides a map, but the Italian cannot be read, so I still rely on Google. One thing to complain about is that the door of the room is a bit loose. As long as someone opens and closes the door, it will ping-pong. The first night we thought someone was opening our door, which scared us to death. Later, when the problem was discovered, the cabinet with the luggage was completely dead and quiet. Personally, this is still a big problem.

The hotel has an excellent location, adjacent to the famous Sijiaochang, in the most prosperous street in the city center, close to the railway station, airport buses, and main attractions. Within 15 minutes’ walk, the breakfast is rich, the service is very good, and the hotel has a courtyard. The room we stayed in, the bathroom is also big, it is the best choice for traveling to Palermo

For the hotel set by cruise ship, the location is just opposite the pier, and there is also its own free parking lot, which is super convenient. The room is a budget hotel, which is quite satisfactory. The most unexpected thing was the hotel's breakfast, which was hearty, and overlooked the harbour. It's not far from the scenic area, if you can, you can walk along the beach to Sijiaochang and the Royal Palace. We walked slowly for about 45 minutes. Overall very satisfied.

Just came back from a 16-day trip to Sicily and we loved every bit of it! Palermo was the last stop of our trip and we spent 4 nights at the Quattro Canti B&B. Location is excellent, just right opposite the Fontana Pretoria (fountain of shame) and few steps away from the beautiful Quattro Canti junction. Teatro Massimo is a convenient 10mins walk away and the airport bus is round the corner in front of Rinascente. We felt very safe in this area and there are many restaurant options within 5 mins walk. We had a room on the second floor facing the next building hence not much of a view. Room is okay overall and bed is firm and comfy. The restaurant on the top floor has a good view. Special thanks to Bernadetta at the front desk who was extremely helpful with all our needs.
