I chanced upon this place Sunday lunchtime when I was looking for a bite to eat but although the fare was OK if a bit pricey the staff were not very attentive. Ordered a coffee and bacon sandwich. When the coffee came, there was no milk (as you would normally expect to get in any other cafe or coffee shop). I had to go back to the serving hatch to request some. When the sandwich came, I wasn't asked whether I wanted sauce and again I had to specifically request this. Finally, the staff seem to have very little local knowledge- maybe they weren't local- and didn't know whether the road outside towards Bewdley river bridge was open for pedestrians (as it turned out it was). The staff were quite busy but I don't think this is a valid excuse for the not very good service.

This a pleasant b and b close to the town centre. Very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good. Very friendly hosts run it. The bedroom was comfortable enough, if a little on the small size. The room had a double bed and a single bed. There was a kettle and cups with a decent collection of tea bags etc available, plus bottled water. The room did not have a wardrobe but there was a hanging space with coat hangers. The tv was adequate for the room size. The only down side was the staircases leading up to this third floor room. The first staircase was ok, but the second was a bit tortuous. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. The en suite shower room, once again clean and tidy. It had a smallish step in shower. I would recommend this b and b but would find out what floor the room is one if you have mobility issues.

An easy to find hotel, in a lovely location right on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire canal. Had a lovely morning walk and even saw a Kingfisher! Not sure if the Kingfisher was a member of staff but it had similar colourings! Nothing too flash about the hotel but with all Travelodge's you know what you're going to get and it's always great value. A very friendly receptionist in Karen an as expected a decent bed and a clean room, Boom!

This hotel is a great base to explore Kidderminster and the Worcestershire countryside - and we're close to West Midlands Safari Park and Severn Valley Railways too. The building is a grade II listed converted mill, with a bar that has an almost New York loft atmosphere. Let off steam going for a country walk. Or enjoy the power of steam at Severn Valley Railway Museum. Make a clay pot at Hartlebury Castle. Or make a detour through the animal magic of the West Midlands Safari Park. Then it's time for some serious relaxing with our extra-comfy beds and The Kitchen restaurant.

Rental basis: Entire house or apartmentNumber of bedrooms: 12; Number of other rooms with beds: 0Severn Manor is a big and beautiful English manor house where original period features, classic furnishings and up-to-the-minute facilities combine to give you a rich and lavish setting for your large family holiday, celebration, or hen or stag party. This big house with Wow factor also makes the perfect backdrop to fairytale weddings and prestigious corporate events.A private gated entrance leads to the front of the house where the views roll on and on for miles across the glorious Worcestershire landscape. Step inside the spacious reception hall and you’ll start to feel very special because it has all the grandeur of a stately home; warm oak floors with wool rugs, deep red flock wallpaper, gilt-framed oil paintings and a huge fireplace. That classic country house look is continued throughout Severn Manor, it’s like a baby Downton Abbey, exclusively yours!Off the reception hall are the Oak Room and the formal Drawing Room, both with phenomenal carved oak fireplaces; the Drawing Room has a baby grand piano, so have a tinkle of the ivories after dinner, just like they did in Victorian times. A tiled inner hall leads to the main staircase, stunning in oak and wrought iron; look up and you’ll notice the ornate ceiling mouldings, all part of the historic character of this beautiful English country house.Next to the Drawing Room is The Snug, another room where those rich red hues work to wonderful effect, giving the feel of a Victorian ‘card Room’.Then there’s the Breakfast Room, with an outlook over the pretty garden, the perfect spot to kick start your day with coffee and croissants. This leads through to the Formal Dining Room, with double aspect windows, garden views and all the feel of a stately home; a door leads through to the Orangery which in turn opens onto the veranda and the south-facing terrace at the back of the house. The kitchen is straight ahead of the inner hall, and Wow, what a kitchen!
