|34.61km from city centerOh Forest Hills I am so disappointed. Some of my first ever memories are of having fun here as a child. Which is why I was so looking forward to staying here and using the pool facilities etc. Unfortunately we didn’t get far. The grounds of the resort are, as so many users have mentioned, just beautiful. I’ve had lunch in the lounge area a few times and it’s been lovely, staff have been friendly and nice food with outstanding views. Moving on to our recent booking. I emailed about a week in advance to ask about booking the restaurant as the website didn’t let me and also to confirm we had a cot for our baby. Nobody ever got back to me. Why not? I received a telephone call after 9.30 pm one night later on in the week preceding our stay. No message was left and no attempt to phone again. I only figured out it was the hotel as the location showed on my phone as “Callendar”. So the next day I phoned back and was informed unapologetically that “we’ve been having issues with our website recently”. I asked to confirm that we had a cot and was told with a slight attitude “yes we saw the age of the child in your booking”. Upon arriving at the room we found out there was no mattress in the cot. We checked this with the housekeeping staff who informed us that the hotel didn’t provide mattresses for cots. This wasn’t something we were expecting as we have stayed in 2 hotels since having our son and both provided mattresses without question. If it’s the hotel’s policy not to provide mattresses that’s fine, but why didn’t anyone confirm this either by replying to my email or during that telephone call when I asked if there would be a cot? A young man from housekeeping delivered the happy news that there would be no mattress, again with an attitude, please train him he doesn’t have a clue what he’s on about. Your staff just don’t seem to care. I did however receive a plethora of emails beforehand trying to get me to upgrade which just clogged up my inbox so thanks. The other issue was that the lift wasn’t working. From the reviews I’ve read it looks as though this may have been out of order since some time in March? What on earth are you doing not getting that fixed? We had to haul the pushchair up some stairs for our very brief visit! Not a member of staff in sight aside from the disinterested plainclothes housekeeping staff, who were too busy swearing to each other about their personal lives to even acknowledge our presence (it’s really not a good look, please sort it out). The lady at receptionist was civil but not that friendly and didn’t look up at us until she was ready when we were trying to check in (which was a bad first impression). So when my husband went to ask for a refund (which you provided without argument , thank you) the same person ignored him in the queue and he could see quite clearly that she was on WhatsApp lol. Come on now. Would you be happy with this if that was you trying to get your money back? To top it off the manager was

The bus stop is a minute or two walk away, and it is very convenient and fast to take the bus wherever you go. The hotel industry provides parking lot, if you are staying at the hotel, please come before departure The station said that parking is also free.

Stirling
|2.6km from city centerThe hotel was very modern and clean. In addition the evening meal was great value for money and the black pudding at breakfast was divine. Similarly the rooms were very pleasing and the beds were luxurious. Word of advice though, watch out for the breakfast lady with purple hair. A fair number of my travelling party experienced her lack of customer service, even our coach driver mentioned it, making a joke of it on the bus tannoy. Despite this, all other staff were great and the hotel is a great place. We'll worth a visit.

Stirling
|0.41km from city centerThe location of the hotel is great, the hotel has a historic charm. Breakfast ok (typical British)
Clear minus point is the bathroom. It smells unpleasantly musty and old, the tiles have mold stains. In addition, there was only one window, which could be opened by a crack, so that you couldn't provide fresh air.

Stirling
|1.85km from city centerThis is a very dated hotel but has great staff that makes you feel welcome and are happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Front desk was very nice at check-in and gave suggestions for us when we asked questions. Bedroom was not as nice as the hotel in Edinburgh City West which had two queen beds. This hotel had a queen and sofa bed. Both bed and sofa bed were not that comfortable, but decent. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly in the dining area. They have a small snack/beverage area to purchase from if you need either of those. Parking is free, which is nice. Short drive to the sites. Room was clean, air conditioning worked great, hot water was off and on, but overall warm. Tea kettle in the room.

Stirling
|0.51km from city centerWe very much enjoyed our stay at this hostel! We arrived in Stirling well before check-in, but were allowed to leave our bags until we checked-in. The desk staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double ensuite and found the room to be very clean. We did find the shower a bit intense - but the strong water pressure was nice after a long train ride and carrying a large backpack (mostly) uphill from the train station, though some water did splash onto the floor. The shared spaces were also clean and well organized. The hostel was very conveniently located and we were able to walk to Holyrood Abbey, Stirling Castle, Stirling Distillery and a Tesco Superstore. We would absolutely recommend this hostel to other travellers.

Stirling
|0.36km from city centerThe location is perfect. On the half hillside, the castle is going up. Going down is the place where the commercial street eats. The hotel room is relatively spacious and relatively new. Parking is free. The female front desk on the day of the stay was very friendly and very welcoming. I also said that I saw the Chinese credit card for the first time and felt very good. However, breakfast, originally done very well, half buffet, half-meal, good quality, that is, the price was told at the time of check-in, if you add two people 15 pounds on the spot, I also confirmed it because I felt cheap. As a result, the check-out received 19.8 pounds. The gap is not big, but when the argument is different, the front desk of the next day does not confirm it, and it directly denies it. The perfect experience was deducted from the next day's female front desk.

Stirling
|0.59km from city centerThis is a small boutique hotel classified as ‘rooms with restaurant’ and sited in a quiet conservation area that is probably one of the most affluent residential parts of Stirling. The hotel is constructed of local sandstone (in the Georgian style) and boasts large windows, high ceilings and other features you’d expect - clean, quiet, and comfortable. Rooms were warm, spacious and our sleep quality was excellent. In fact, all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful all the time we were there. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed lovely breakfasts as well as dinners in the attached restaurant. I liked the menu - where you could have a set meal at very reasonable prices if you wanted. Chef had prepared a very impressive lemon dessert designed for people with diabetes and I saw vegetarian and GF options listed as well. The wines were nicely selected too, and knowledgeable staff helped match with our courses very well. There were six parking spaces and behind the hotel and plenty of on street parking. Wi-Fi worked well for us in our rooms as well as the dining and drawing rooms downstairs. We did notice some dust at high level on the first day (I’m 189 cm in shoes so it’s easy for me to reach shower rails, door jambs and other dust traps), but this can be an issue with period houses and the team quickly fixed it. Our room was serviced daily and sparkling clean after that. Overall, the hotel offers a tranquil break in a superb location - convenient to the castle, golf course and other attractions along with great walks and views. Close to main shopping, cafes, and recommended local restaurants such as Hermann’s and The Indian Cottage. Well worth a stay and a meal if you are in the region!

Stirling
|2.53km from city centerThe location of the property is great as it is around 1.5 miles from the centre of Stirling but a short walk from the Wallace memorial which has the most amazing views over city. The whole property was immaculately clean and Kim & Kevin were fantastic hosts with a great knowledge of the surrounding area. My husband is celiac however nothing was too much trouble. Excellent property, location and host ad would definitely stay again. If you do want to stay with them try booking direct as it should be cheaper.

Stirling
|8.92km from city centerWe booked hillview because of its locality to Blairdrummond Safari park, on arrival our host John was extremely helpful as we got there earlier than expected and we made the journey with two of our eager to get out the car grandchildren aged five and two. Johns recommendations of places to eat and visit over our stay were spot on, he even managed to get us an opportunity to gain entry on a fully booked soft play day out (during the kids six weeks holiday and coming out of the COVID-19 lockdown period) which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was just as we ordered, even the kids polished them off. The family room was very spacious and cleaned to the highest standard absolutely spotless and faultless, could have spent a day listening to the very well traveled John’s stories and looking at his amazing Decor that had no theme but matched perfectly, some wonderful beautiful furnishings. Overall a very enjoyable stay in a very enjoyable cottage and excellent location with plenty nearby to do. We did try and extend our stay but sadly for us our room was booked from us leaving for the next four nights. Definitely going back in the future
