The hotel is very historical and very old. Sitting in the banquet hall, ordering a glass of brandy and listening to classical music is very sensational. Stayed in the Elizabeth Suite, in the three-story attic, it was not as good as I thought. There are a few wood piles in the middle of the room, it feels weird! Both the entrance and exit of the bathroom had to bow and the door was short. The key is that there is no elevator, you need to move your luggage to climb the building! The stairs are very narrow, or the ones that turn in circles. The steps are stones that are polished. Although the front desk lady asked me at CHECK IN, do I need to carry the baggage for you? But I feel that I am still not used to trouble them. The breakfast is very good, there are many types, and you can order some meals. In short, I feel that the price is not high, which is the lower ranking of the hotel in this hotel.

Room was a decent size. Extra bed set up for our daughter. Staff who checked us in were amazing, really kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We hit breakfast at a really bad time as it was full and really busy, we were kindly asked to come back in 10 minutes which we were happy to do and we were given an exceptional service. Staff couldn’t have have been friendlier or more helpful. Amazing and looking forward to our stay next year.

Plus: vicinissimo all'uscita dell'autostrada, in mezzo alla sempre affascinante campagna inglese, camere silenziose, ampio parcheggio per l'auto e personale molto gentile Minus: anche qui se vuoi che ti puliscano la camera devi dirlo alla reception, o almeno spero che sia cosi', a differenza di un altro hotel dove ero stato a Bristol, qui non c'è nemmeno il cartello che ti avvisa. Cosicche' ci siamo ritrovati la camera non rifatta. DIcevo che sIamo nella vecchia Inghilterra, quindi scordatevi il bidet e il miscelatore, si torna al secolo scorso dove ti ustioni le mani sotto l'acqua calda e ti devi divertire a miscelare in stile ”fai da te”. Any faults with the premises are common to travelodges and should not be blamed on the staff, the manager in particular regularly goes above and beyond with limited manpower and resources. Corporate travelodge should fund regular deep cleaning and schedule more frequent maintenance and upgrades at all properties, after all they're still issuing key fobs and actual door keys into rooms that seem to have been last decorated circa 1992. These hotels are only worth staying in at dirt cheap rates because of the amazing staff and after a very cautious inspection. There are some mould issues because of the age of the installations, particularly in some bathrooms, as well as rust. Even the youngest housekeeper knew to check that the disabled alarm cord was fitted to the floor and there's provision for the HoH and Deaf. However because of the age, the accessible room still had a bath. Some breadth and turning issues with a power chair. There's no lift to the upstairs room and unless you've the auditory ability, patience, energy and time to persist with a national telephone line to specify your needs then it's very much a room lottery. (Their IT skills also evident in the fact that the link to cross post a review to TripAdvisor doesn't work either). The staff on-site will apologise profusely but again this could be easily handled by corporate in a more efficient manner, especially as many other chains manage to do so via email and directly to the specific hotel. Overall worth risking a biscuit for simply because of the manager and staff. To them, thank you. :)

Comfy well cleaned room and bathroom. Lacks a fridge which would have been welcome. Decent gym and the swimming pool is a great way to stay active away from home. Staff all good and seem well trained and personable Restaurant is poor for choice, quality and expensive- just parted with nearly £6 for a pint followed by £17 for a risotto which had nearly zero flavour served so fast it must’ve been microwaved. Breakfasts are good with decent hot and cold choice

You get what you pay for. No frills just a decent night sleep. The building is dated but everything we needed. We did not spend anytime in the room other than sleeping so were not looking for anything special. We also had our baby daughter with us. The staff were very helpful before and during our visit responding very quickly to email requests. One thing to note google maps does not recognise a private road at the rear of the property. We were attending a wedding at Berkley which google maps said was 25 mins away. But there is a private road that hotel guests are allowed to access to get on the A38 ( avoiding the sat nav M5 detour) No sound of motorway in room, rear rooms have country views and totally silent.
