When checking it, a sign on the entrance stated masks are required. We put on our masks and walked in ( both of us are vaccinated ). The front desk clerk's mask was hanging off her ear but she did put it on when we approached, most likely she heard my wife say ”she's not wearing a mask”. As we were checking in several people passed by coming in, going out and one was checking out, all not wearing a mask. So why bother posting the sign? After receiving our key, going up to the room and opening the door a waft of cigarette odor hit us. We reserved a king non smoking and the clerk acknowledged that as she checked us in. Returning to the front desk, explained the odor, the clerk gave us a new room. This one didn't smell of smoke. I noticed there weren't any bath towels in the room, so as we were walking toward the elevator to go for dinner the desk clerk was coming toward us and asked if that room was better. We stated it didn't smell of smoke, but could someone bring us bath towels. She told us it was just here and could we pick them up on our way back in?? I noticed she was holding a spray bottle and some rags in her hands which I reflected on after we got back from dinner. There's a sign on the mirror stating 'housekeeping available upon request” and that the room has been cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant with special attention to high touch areas. Great! Unfortunately it seemed housekeeping didn't clean all the other areas or the housekeeping is the desk clerk with the spray bottle and rags! The bathroom was disgusting, The toilet rim had urine stains and cigarette ashes, there was hair in the shower and sink. Thank god we had lysol wipes. After traveling we just wanted to settle in. At least the bed was clean and comfortable, except for the pillows. This is the worst hotel room we ever had. If this hotel was in my portfolio I would be embarrassed. We have stayed at several other Choice Hotel brands as we travel to our main destination and by far, this is the worst and doubtful we would ever stay at a Sleep Inn again. For almost $100 the value was horrible, but then again paying anything for this room would not have been a good value.

I drove 4 hours to this hotel, and they cancelled my booking not long before i got there, and my room was given away. I received an email 30 minutes before I got there, which I clearly didn’t see since I was driving… The front desk clerk was completely rude and had a terrible attitude. He didn’t have a name tag on (probably for a reason) so I didn’t get his name. The email said they possibly had another room to offer me. The desk guy didn’t even look, said they’re sold out and I’m out of luck. No apology, or “sorry for the inconvenience”, help finding a new room, AND I even asked to use the restroom (a locked single use restroom) because I had been driving for hours and really had to use the bathroom and he wouldn’t even let me use it! So they cancelled my booking, no reason given, no “sorry”, AND THIS MAN WHO WORKS IN HOSPITALITY WOULDNT EVEN LET ME USE THE RESTROOM after all that. Treated me as if I’m not even human, just some scum on his shoe. I would never try to stay here again.

Last minute one night stay. In town for kids sports event, decided to book the morning of, rather than drive over 2.5hrs each way home and back again. Simply put - this property should NOT bear the Marriott name. It is disgusting. Period. Rooms are outdated and dirty. Sidewalks are all uneven. Pool is extremely small, more like an over-sized hot tub, with a clearly unmaintained walking area around it. Buildings are clearly old, as if stuck in time from when this apartment-style hotel was in its prime. Not today! Had my entire family with me, so we paid the extra $$ for the two bedroom “penthouse” (as described in the Marriott app), only to find out it is really just an outdated second floor room with a loft and extra bathroom upstairs. Not a big deal, we needed the space. But the notion that this room is a penthouse, is laughable at best. The first room we checked into wreaked of ********* and cigarette smoke. We hadn’t even crossed the door threshold before being greeted by that awful smell. A quick call to the front desk yielded the usual apologies, and we were promptly relocated to another room. We did not stay in the first room long enough to even tell if it was clean. Unfortunately at that point, based on the property being so outdated, and the disgusting smell of first room, our expectation of the next room was pretty low - just don’t stink. While the second room did not smell as bad as the first, it was clearly a room that had previous issues…. The door and door jamb showed clear indications that this room had been broken into, perhaps repeatedly. The door hardware had clearly come off and had been reattached multiple times based on the amount of screw holes. The “safety” latch on the top was so loose that it came off in my hand while I was checking to see how bad it was. When I called the front desk to have it repaired, I was advised that maintenance had departed for the day and it would be addressed in the morning. I ended up using the butter knife from the kitchen to reattach it with the screws - it was actually tighter than it was when we checked in. Since my wife was not completely comfortable with that, we opted to buy a door security bar from Walmart as an extra precaution. It baffles me that Marriott is aware of this condition and has simply chosen to reattach the hardware rather than redo the door frame, and replace the entire door. Aside from the door, the room is simply as outdated as the rest of the property is. The decor is old. The plastic shower hardware is barely holding on. The red chair in the main room has several stains on it. Flipping the seat cushion only revealed more stains. We pushed it into a corner and didn’t use it, not even setting our bags on it. At that point, being as late as it was, we simply just set our mind to minimum expectations and hoped for a decent night of sleep, which we got. Can’t say that the beds were comfortable - they were not; can’t say it was quiet - it was not because the AC sounded

This hotel gets a mixed review from me, for sure. First of all, this is an older property that has likely been renovated many times over the years. As such, the layout befits an older property, and it doesn't always line up with modern expectations, such as stairs' going directly outside rather than to the lobby. However, that can't really be changed too much without tearing down the facility and building a new one, so I feel as though it would be unfair to ding them over that. Similarly, the elevators were being renovated while we were staying there, and this limited the elevators' capacity, as only one (of two total) was available during our stay. This is a temporary inconvenience and necessary work, so I'm giving them a bye on that work. As far as our room went, I took no issue with it. It was clean, it had adequate lighting, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast service was about what you would expect for a Holiday Inn Express. Nothing too fancy, but not terrible, either. My only complaint was that the warming units that the food sat in continuously made contact with the sneeze guard, which made for a frustrating experience (feeling like you need three hands to serve yourself). That could probably be remedied easily enough if someone cared enough to do it. The parking and access situation, however, was unacceptable. The parking lot is on the back side of the building. This stems from the property's being very old, so I'm not willing to ding them for that on its own, as there is an entrance to the lobby on the parking lot side. However, I will ding them for how access to the parking lot is handled late at night. After 11 PM, the doors facing the parking lot are locked, and there is no access allowed through that door, with all entering and exiting being done via the door next to the front desk. The door to the parking lot also has a sign posted on it when the doors are locked stating as such, and threatening immediate removal from the property should the doors be opened during those hours. That means that in order to access the lot, you have to walk completely around the outside of the building. To add insult to injury, there is a card access box that allows access to be limited to only registered guests, but the doors are locked in such a way as to bypass the card access system. The staff said that this was due to a problem with homeless trying to sleep in the hotel's lobby, but inconveniencing paying guests is no way to do it. All in all, I suppose that this isn't a bad place based on the price and the location, but I'm not inclined to stay again, as the inconveniences outweighed the positives.

As Diamond Elite members of IHG, we travel lots. We've actually stayed at this hotel many times, since it is so close to the Richmond airport. The staff is wonderful and enjoy working together. They treat us well and usually give us an upgrade because of our status. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because this time the hotel seemed to be behind on maintenance. (Our house is also behind on maintenance right after the holidays, so we understand. However, this is a business, and the fees/points are rather expensive.) The blinds in the suites are operated by a device on the wall. However, it did not work in our first room and also in the second room they moved us too. At that point we didn't want to move again, so we just put up with it. There was no way to manually operate the blinds as a backup. There was no maintenance staff on the property to fix this situation. One of the TVs didn't work due to a power outage, but they told us how to fix it, and their directions worked. We will stay there again since it is close to the airport and the staff is so nice.

I recently stayed at the Westin in Richmond VA as the location chosen by the family/ church for my niece's funeral. Although many of the staff member were very empathetic and supportive during our time of bereavement, Matthew was very exceptional in trying to provide the extra personal interaction that exceeded the normal experience. As an Marriott Ambassador member, I have travelled rather extensively and therefore am aware of the standards expected. His kindness and attentiveness to detail and service made this difficult time of bereavement much easier to bear. I appreciate also the accomodating flexibility of the other members of the staff as well. I will return again.

The front desk staff and bistro staff were amazing - helpful, courteous, and quick! Now...onto the hotel itself: This place is NOT up to Marriott standards - I cannot and will not believe it is. Yes the lobby seems updated and modern, but the rest of this hotel is definitely screaming ”1990”. This must've been one of the original Courtyard concepts back in the day OR was an old hotel they bought and slapped a Courtyard sign out front. Rooms are small, dated furniture, and make shift layout (TV to the side of the bed - not in front). This place is a maze...all jokes aside. There is no main lobby elevator/access to the 2nd or 3rd floors. No....you have to walk all the way down a very long hallway, then turn left and walk some more down another hallway, until you come up on the elevator!?! The amount of hotel guests I ran into who were lost (myself included) trying to find the elevator from the lobby and vice versa, should be a clear sign this layout is awful. Room was comfy and quiet (mine faced the rear parking lot) and I had enough towels and all for a 2 day stay for work. Did have a frig - but NO microwave. Last complaint - breakfast. Isn't Marriott membership supposed to give free breakfast? I got a basic (but really tasty) breakfast + Pelligrino = $23???

First, I will say that we traveled through several states and stayed at two other Comfort Suites over a period of 10 days. I had been told that as a Choice member that I could request a late check out. I asked for a 2:00 PM check out but was told no by the night clerk. I had planned to ask again in the morning, but we overslept. Robert came banging on our door at 11:35 AM and was quite rude. He told me that if we were not out of the room by 12:00 PM that I would be charged another night. We had a toddler with us, so it was very stressful for him to demand that we vacate in such a short time. I think he could have allowed us another 10-15 minutes, but he was quite nasty. We scrambled and packed up in the short time and vacated the room at 11:58 PM. The other Comfort Suites we stayed at in SC, and VA Beach treated us very well and explained their policies upfront so there would not be any misunderstanding. I will not stay at this Comfort Suites again (I have family in the area). It was not as nice as the other Comfort Suites in SC and VA Beach.

We thought that they had renovated the hotel, but they only did certain updates. We had to switch 2 times until 3rd time found a room that the toilet didnt leak on the floor. Bathroom tubs need update. More lights and better tub grip than rubber mat that is not sanitary. The tables & dressers need an update, there were pen marks, scuff marks. A good refresh job.

Traveling through Richmond and this place was listed on the highway, we figured it would be perfect. It wasn't actually on the highway - but close enough. No connecting rooms available - so we all had to squish into a suite (family of 5) There were enough beds but it just felt cramped. The hotel needs an update. The pool was closed - under maintenance - fine by us, but if you want a pool don't go here. The vibe was just old and a bit creepy. Hard to describe, the couch was material and pleather - really old feeling. I needed another shower after staying here. The TV didn't work well - very few channels. Breakfast was fine - nothing special. Checkout was at noon which we loved because we liked having a lazy morning. So just a Meh hotel. served it's purpose but wouldn't recommend as a must stay!

This was my first travel experience in the Short Pump area of Richmond. However, I found the hotel overall to be very comfortable. Broad Street offered numerous shops and restaurants. The Town Center down the street was an added bonus. Ms. Kim at the front desk gave excellent customer service and was a pleasure to speak to. The restaurant served tasteful food and was served promptly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return. We had the 1 bedroom 2 room king suite. A couple additional observations: 1) The king mattress needs an upgrade. In the suite, I would expect a more plush mattress. 2) The lighting in the shower area needs to be brighter. 3) Also in the shower area, there was a continuous fan/vent running constantly. I understand the need for ventilation to ensure no moisture build-up to avoid moldy situations. Have the fan/vent on a separate switch to be used when needed and not hearing that noise is a workable solution. I did close the sliding door to reduce the noise. 4) The sliding door for the toilet/shower area had to be moved gently. It was easy to move it too far and get it off the little track. These items weren't show stoppers but items that if addressed would certainly enhance the Marriott experience that all guest, especially those of us who are rewards members expect from this brand.

Stayed here the night before a very early flight out of RIC. The young lady at the front desk seemed very confused when we arrived. We had checked in through the app ahead of time, and only needed to pick up our key. At first she couldn't find our reservation in the system. When I told her we had checked in online, she eventually found A key in a box on the side. We went to the room, unloaded our stuff, then were going out for dinner. I noticed the name written on the back of our room card sleeve was not mine. So I stopped again at the desk....and turns out she had given us the wrong room key, so we were in the wrong room. She didn't really know how to fix that and her response was basically ”oh well”. Fortunately I kept pressing to get it corrected, and the Manager finally came over and made the change. Luckily, no other guests showed up that night in our room, thinking it was theirs.

First of all, it's not a terrible hotel. Staff is nice, the rooms are nice, and its clean. However, ANY coffee drinker knows the first thing they want upon waking is fresh good coffee. I woke up hungry and wanted my coffee, so when I went down to the lobby looking for where they kept the coffee. The only coffee you can get you have to buy from their bistro. I don't know anyone that wants to stand in line for a dang cup of coffee 2 minutes after they wake. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for a person to serve me. Nothing. I went back to the desk and they said she was in the back and would be available shortly. I continued to wait and became very agitated. So I went behind their counter and was going to serve myself. I could not figure out where to get the coffee from. So then I went into their staff kitchen (twice) to find them so I could have a cup of coffee. I yelled out for anyone and No one was back there! I finally gave up and went back to my room and drank the nasty room coffee and had to go without eating breakfast because you have to buy it and wait for staff that seem to not exist. These bistros getting put into the hotels are to make more money and that's whatever, but you now have an obligation to ”serve.” And coffee is extremely important you'd better be on your game. Now I feel like when I book I will always avoid places like this because this incident ruined my day. Lastly, their staff smoke cigarettes right outside the door making the entire lower level smell like a bar. Get your COFFEE together people!

Passing by for one night, the little girl at the front desk was very sweet. Hot water, coffee ice water, apples are always available at the front desk. The room was quite comfortable. Breakfast is generally full. There are restaurants nearby, Fridays and Olive Garden. It seems that it is not safe near the night, and there are three police cars parked.

Looked like a nice quiet hotel to break up a long drive and get some sleep. Was given room on 2nd floor above the meeting space. A party with a very loud dj and guests was going on when I checked in at 10:30. I went to my room and it sounds like a night club, bed shaking to the bass, can hear every beat and every word. I asked the desk what time it would be over, was told 12:00. I came back down at 1:15 and asked if I could switch rooms to other floor or other end of hotel as it was louder than ever, was told I could but would have to pay more because all they have left is a suite! I’m checking out at 7:00 am! Wish I would have known not to stay here on a weekend! Stay away!

We had a bad Airbnb experience and needed a reliable, comfortable place to stay for the night. This hotel is at a Golf Course and it is very beautiful!! We got a great price but I chose 1 King instead of 2 Queens on accident. They we're super happy and kindly changed the room at no cost to us. When we got to our room, a sticker was over our door showing that the room had been cleaned and no one had entered. The beds were huge, plush and very clean. I slept like a baby. The room was very clean, too and the A/C was pumping out the cool air. The room was clean, quiet and cool. We enjoyed it very much!

Katherine the Manager was kind enough to offer to use her car to give our truck a jump start. My husband and I were 3 hours from home and on the final leg of a 16 day excursion. We were excited and ready to get home. Unfortunately, our truck wouldn't start. We were stressed and unsure about what to do. My husband went into the hotel to see if they had a suggestion for who to call. Instead of given us a number the Manager said she would give us a jump start. Fortunately, that was all we needed. We made it home. You may think that offer is a simple thing, but we do not.. She was there when we needed her. People these days forget to appreciate any form of kindness. Also, Dimonique checked us in and out.at the front desk. She was friendly and helpful. I mentioned that my husband and I loved the cookies, so she made sure, with the help of a very nice individual in the kitchen staff to get me fresh, out of the oven cookies. We really needed them after our breakdown scare. Again, don't underestimate the importance of a simple act of kindness and a friendly face.

I had a wonderful overnight stay from the time I arrived until I checked out. I was warmly greeted by Andre who made me feel welcome right away. I was happy to stay in one of the newly remodeled rooms which I found to be perfect. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was spotless. I loved the ammenities in the bath, and it was nice to have a microwave and a Keurig coffeemaker in the room. The bed was very comfortable as well. If you have the chance to enjoy breakfast, you will meet Bonnie who is an absolute delight. Overall, I have only good things to say about this hotel, and I can highly recommend it.

I travel for work weekly and stay in the Innsbrook area. The hotel I normally book with was full for one of the two nights I needed. mainly due to several rooms with broken AC. I was able to book my complete stay with Comfort Suites easily with no issues. I was so glad I made this booking! Austen (The Front Desk Supervisor) was incredibly helpful and courteous. The hotel itself was impeccable. It was clean and inviting My previous hotel of choice had lacked in this area, to the point one of my visits I had to request clean sheets and bedspread as they had not been changed with what they considered housekeeping This was my first experience with a Choice Hotel and I will be booking all of my further weekly trips to Richmond here, without hesitation. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking to stay in this area.

The hotel was conveniently located about 10 mins from the airport and close to food and shops perfect for a short visit. For the price and the room I think you get a great deal especially in the surrounding area, stayed in the one bedroom king suite which is setup like a cozy one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, dining bar, living room area, bathroom outside of the bedroom and the bedroom with king bed. Room was clean and setup was as pictured only complaints are the elevators are broken so we had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs and the phones in room don’t work, and there is no service attendant to bring you extra towels or linen you have to go to the front desk to get it yourself. Staff was pleasant, check in was seamless and so is check out would stay again

My son and I stopped at Springhill Suites on our way from Georgia to New Jersey. We enjoyed the pool and spa. We had a great night sleep. Ceecee welcomed us to Breakfast (sausage, oatmeal and my son's favorite AppleJacks cereal). So many friendly and smiling faces. Overall great hotel to stay at and we would highly recommend you stay here when traveling into Virginia.
