Although there was reception staff we had to pick up the hotel key in a box another time (went well but was a bit strange I think).
In the hallway itself there was a slightly strange smell. But the room itself was perfectly fine.
There is a lot to do in the center of Bergen if you want it. Lots of dining areas / bars etc.
We did not get breakfast there due to. we woke up today (May 17), which in Norway is considered a Sunday. Then they did not have breakfast there. So we had to take another place.
What was minus it was that they did NOT have luggage storage there. So there the hotel has something they need to fix right away.

|0.18km from city centerPROS: - The staff members were all really kind and helpful. - Breakfast offered a lot of choices and never disappointed. - The hotel position is among the bests you can get. It's close to everything there is to visit. CONS: - Although their booking page says they have a restaurant, the restaurant is actually close. They do not open for dinner. - Their booking page also says that they provide a gym. The gym is not in the hotel but 3 minutes on foot away. - The hotel only had a public wifi (not really the safest thing...) And of course it was incredibly slow. - My room wasn't always vacuumed when the cleaning lady ”cleaned” my room nor my blanket changed. - I wasn't given a sign to let the cleaning lady know whether I was still in my room or not. - The shower wasn't a shower-box or a shower with a platform. it was just a lower area (one stare lower from the floor). The shower's curtain was too short resulting systematically in flooding the bathroom (almost slipped one day!) - They only give you two towels: one for the sink to wash your hands and one as a bathrobe for the shower. I would have really appreciated a third one to contain the water while showering.

Very clean, the bed is a bit too soft, friends who don't like soft beds should consider it. The location of the hotel takes about half an hour to walk to the city center. My friends and I like walking, so it’s not a problem at all, but if you don’t like walking and don’t want to spend money on rides all the time, then you should think carefully!

|12.62km from city centerThe big plus of this hotel is that it is a 4-5 minute walk from the airport. Because of that easy access to public transportation into the city. The room was quiet and I didn't notice airport noise. Room was clean and modern, but very small, spartan, and with few amenities. Beds were narrow with very soft mattresses. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items, though not exceptional. There were only two elevators in a hotel with four floors and hundreds of rooms! As others have noted, the staff is very young and seemed inexperienced, but friendly enough. All in all, like most airport hotels, you get little value for the price. The goal is a quick in and out with a decent breakfast for travelers, but not much more.

Breakfast can be ordered, but expensive, it is better to go to 7-11 to buy croissants, weekend specials 10 kronor, usually 15 krona. The apartment is very good, coming from the airport, taking the light rail to the byparken station as long as 39 or 33, much cheaper than the airport bus, to byparken a few hundred meters. Going to other attractions in Bergen, you can walk very close to the fish market, Bryggen, and Florentine. The Bergen train station, which is a miniature of Norway, feels like walking for ten minutes. There is a supermarket nearby, you can go to rema from Monday to Saturday, and there is a supermarket on the weekend. You can ask the front desk. You can cook your own food at the supermarket.

|0.4km from city centerThe service at this hotel is topnotch. We ended up staying in one of the cheaper rooms which was on the smaller side of things, but everything was a great experience. Everyone has mentioned the great breakfast (and it is), but they also have fantastic comfortable beds, Chromecast, wifi, and very clean bedrooms/bathrooms. Again, I'd like to commend the service again. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, packed an early morning breakfast for us when we were going to leave early, and had recommendations on the best things to do (and how to save a couple of bucks if needed). Location is fantastic! You are a very short walk from the fish market and the tourist area. Additionally, there is a grocery store right across the street (eating out in Norway can be pricey) along with a small shopping center about a block away. The funicular to the top of the surrounding mountains is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you're looking for affordable bites to eat there is a gyro cafe not far from there and a great Burmese restaurant. If you're trying to get there from the airport, it will cost you between $50-$70 via taxi (approx. 25 mins) or $8-10 via train (approx. 45 - 55 mins from what I could tell). The buses in town and the surrounding areas are clean, very timely, and easy to use. However, you'll want to have downloaded the app ahead of time to make using them easier.

|0.36km from city centerStayed when: August 2022 - 5 nights, party of 4 (booked a corner suite which comprised 2 rooms with a common entrance) Location: Excellent; key areas/attractions were walking distance (10 minute walk from train station) Rooms: The first room was large whereas the 2nd room was quite small. Not sure if the bed in the 2nd room would qualify as a double bed. The rooms are nicely done up. Breakfast: Good breakfast. However hot beverages such as cappuccino etc not part of the breakfast package. Have to be paid for separately. Not an issue but found it strange/petty for a hotel like this. Gym: Small but functional. Gives the impression that not much thought has gone into it. Two issues - first was lack of ventilation and second was no drinking water available Service: While the staff was polite and helpful, we faced some service issues. The lock on the main door to the corner suite (leading up to the 2 rooms) was not working. Despite requesting the reception staff several times to have it fixed, the problem was not solved. In the end, we gave up and just kept the doors to the two rooms locked (which somewhat defeated the objective of getting a corner suite). Also, were surprised to see the rooms hadn’t been cleaned one day. Found out the rooms are not serviced daily unless one puts up the room service sign on the door. We should have been informed of this at the time of check-in. Other: We had the windows open for ventilation during the night. As a result, our sleep was disturbed all the nights because of noise from outside (saw lots of college students all over Bergen who would be partying late into the night / early morning). Overall: Nice, charming hotel. While we had no major complaints, unlikely we will consider this hotel again because of the above service/small issues.

The hotel has an excellent location, nice and newly renovated rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine and had good variety as well. However, the upsetting part is that the bad things exceed the good ones. The hotel has a very loud bar/club on the ground floor and plays loud music even on weekdays until late at night, the loud music can be heard in the room. The bed isn’t comfortable, the one I had was used a lot probably and had an inside curve in the middle. The room service menu says that it’s available until 11 pm. However, if you try calling them after 10 pm nobody answers as the kitchen closes at 10 pm but its not written anywhere. They also charge for getting you tap water!! The reception desk, although they say its a 24hours desk, they wouldn’t pick up the phone if you call them after 10 pm. Once I asked for a fork at 10:15 pm the receptionist had to check if room service team would accept as the kitchen had already closed. And had to call the reception twice to get hold of them. The parking garage is operated by a third party, its very small and has probably spaces for 20-25 cars. So most probably it always full, in my case, the hotel staff asked me to go park my car in another public parking garage and walk back to the hotel. The housekeeping team doesn’t clean the room properly, I had hair in the bathroom and the shower drainage is blocked. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, this night is my last and I keep getting disappointed every night. I think the hotel has to offer better services and quality. You even have to greet the receptionist as they would answer by hello rather than “good evening” or “how can we help?” But that’s not important anyways. For the price I paid, I expected much better services from this hotel. I would definitely come back to Bergen, but never to this hotel, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Its not a 5 star hotel according to the global standards. I wouldn’t even give it 3 stars.

The building is old and draws a lot of character from that compared to some the more antiseptic new hotels. It's very well maintained and modern inside. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was just outstanding, in its variety and quality with lots of healthy options. One caveat is that we had originally booked a standard room though Hurtigruten which although perfectly decent had no view and was a bit dark so we upgraded and got what turned out to be a superb room. Obviously this enhanced our experience but even without, the hotel is a lovely place to stay.

|3.24km from city centerThe platonic ideal of hostelling, encapsulated in a friendly, spacious, welcoming and clean reality. The volunteer organised activities were very special and made it easy to meet and chat to other guests in a relaxed way. We would never have found the fjord-viewing sauna on our own - although these are only advertised ~12 hours in advance making it tricky to plan ahead. There was a plentiful and good quality communal breakfast every day included in the price. The guest kitchen and restaurant also provided appealing evening meal options with the Bunnpris supermarket around the corner open until 9 most days (closed on Sundays). The view from the hostel itself is exceptional and the location provides easy access to trails linking to the seven peaks of Bergen. The Floyen - Ulriken hike was well worth the effort. Rooms and communal spaces were all very clean and cleaned daily! Amy and Emma

|0.35km from city centerThings are different! We found a two bed room is really more like a room with a king bed. Well, OK, but not what we expected. The room was quite small, but worked pretty well. There is a metal frame that serves as a place to hang clothing, several shelves so you can put clothing out, but no drawer storage. There was a TV, you could make coffee/tea in the room (if you wanted). Biggest surprise: the bathroom was fully suitable for an RV. I could touch wall to wall with my outstretched arms. The shower was the size of half a phone booth. The sink was about 10X14 inches. Tiny, but it worked. The room was overlooking the Bergen Visitor Info Center and Fish Market. One night there were a lot of revelers. Otherwise it was quiet. Breakfast was a buffet, with some hot items, and the usual cold cuts, cheese, breads. Some fruit. The coffee machines are fine when they work, but it seems that guests are pretty hard on them and they were not always available. We were joining a cruise, but at the last minute learned we had to delay our arrival several hours due to harbor congestion. We spent the extra time, with our luggage and kindles in the hotel's small lobby. The staff made us welcome, and assisted us with a taxi when we were finally able to depart.

The hotel is in a great location in a pedestrianised square in central Bergen not far from the light rail terminus. It’s also close to some great restaurants and bars but at the same time, very quiet. Finally, the breakfast. The choice and quality of the offering is amazing. I cannot recommend this hotel too highly and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there on my next visit to Bergen.

Very many facilities in the form of: dining room (there is a possibility to buy breakfast on the spot), sauna and a living room for common use. Two bathrooms fully equipped for guests' use. Parking facilities are available for guests, also with electric chargeability. The host is very helpful, nice and polite, always helpful.
The place is located in a beautiful area, and the center has animals of the type of horses, sheep, gooses.
Near the center, about 20 minutes by car. Nearby are bus stops.

For example, one of our family rooms had a key card door opener that was faulty, so a staff member had to always open their door. Also, the very deep bathtub / shower may be hard for some people to safely step into, but we found the grab bars made this ok. The breakfast, mid afternoon waffles, and dinner were all good. The dinner had plenty of choices of a soup, salad fixings, bread, so this was nice on a rainy night when we decided not to venture out to dinner. The hotel is very attractive with an opulent feel, and the location, right at a corner of the Bryggen area, can’t be beat. On a rainy afternoon we could just go a few steps across the square th a good Museum of the Bryggen, which was very interesting. Our three boys ages 11 to 14 enjoyed this museum.

|0.65km from city centerWas greeted by a very nice receptionist when I checked in. He saw that I was a member of their chain and offered me the benefits it provides. Then gave the information I needed and explained the way to the elevator. All with kindness and a big smile. It gave a very good start to a good stay. Asked at check in for room with view and high up. I got it in room 616 which had a balcony. I think most rooms do not have a balcony or that view. So a tip is to ask and if they are available, you will get enough. The room was clean. And that's the most important thing for me. Not very big and the bathroom was even smaller. But it is more than enough for two people visiting this city. Even though the room is clean, it appears to be somewhat worn over time. You can see it on the scraped panel stove, scraper and other things on the walls, the bedding has some smaller holes and is worn (but comfortable to sleep in). When there are better times for the hotel industry, it would not cost much to raise the standard a little. Breakfast has everything you need, but does not appear very exciting. You can see there are some measures taken that raise it from basic, and there is a lot of staff at work. But it's a long way up to the city's best breakfast and there is constantly empty for some products during the breakfast. Then it is important to know that the Comfort hotels at Nordic Choice Hotels are the most affordable. I have often stayed in Quality hotels in the past and the standard is one notch or two up. So for what you pay here for the rooms with breakfast it is very good value! And the very best value here is those who work here. Whether it is night guards, cleaners or others. There are always positive answers if you want something. And accompanying smile. Otherwise there is a bar here if you wish. And from Bybanen it may be around 10-15 minutes to walk. So it is centrally located in Bergen. Can definitely recommend this hotel for the price against the standard one gets.

The location is great( and we're so glad we did not opt for one closer to the station) for all the main sights. The buffet breakfast was very good with lots of choices and everything looking fresh and well presented. Our room ( 2 single beds )was maybe a little restricted re bed size and sides but the room was light and airy, with a fantastic bathroom esp the shower. The a/c was efficient so you could sleep with windows shut and so eliminate any street noise. We requested 2 extra pillows to the 2 provided and this were quickly produced. Storage for luggage after check out was helpful The real strength of this hotel is the staff- we met Kiki and Sureen(spelling?) on reception/bar- friendly , efficient and professional- a real asset to the place.

The heating did not function so was cold and we could not work out how to switch the very small electric heater on. The shower also would randomly go freezing cold then hot which made it very unpleasant to use.

The location is terrific, it's clean with somewhat quirky modern decor and the breakfast buffet is amazing. The problem arose with respect to our booking of a twin-bedded room. Realizing that the standard twin-bedded rooms were really small, we booked a superior twin-bedded room. So imagine our surprise when we checked in and were told that the hotel doesn't have any superior twin-bedded rooms! Why did they accept our booking, I wondered.... Anyhow, we were given a standard twin-bedded room, which was really tiny, making it hard for two adults to find space for baggage and to move around.... |12.27km from city centerThe Kerry Hotel is a rare and impressive airport hotel I have stayed in. Its decoration and design is not like an airport hotel, just a night out, on the contrary, it has the charm of attracting guests to stay for a few more days. What I appreciate most is that its breakfast time is 4 am, indeed not many airport hotels can make. This hotel is highly recommended.
