Enjoy the peacefulness of our family property with a short 3 minute drive (1.5 miles) to town.This 1930’s stone cottage was built by my great grandfather and the 120 acre property has been passed from him to my grandmother and now to my mom. Situated where Spider Branch Creek meets the Little Buffalo River, enjoy your peaceful getaway in the beautiful Ozark Mountains overlooking farm pastures. Close to all the action of Buffalo National River: hiking, canoeing climbing and all the adventure that offers! New comfy mattresses, spacious sectional in the living room.Property: You are welcome to the whole space except the basement. Feel free to explore the creek alongside the house and the open field and swimming hole across the street!Interaction with Guests: We live out of state so you won’t see us, but we have local co-hosts, Charlie & Stuart, that might check in or for emergencies.Other Details to Note:We welcome pets! We have a dog run they can be hooked up to out the back door for bathroom breaks if needed. Because they do cause a little extra work on clean up, we charge an additional $50 initial cleaning fee +$10 per additional pet so please let us know if you plan to bring your furry friends so we can make sure you are charged appropriately! While we believe guest who travel with pets have well behaved pets, if there is any damage accidentally incurred we expect that you will cover the cost of the repair. Also if we find that you’ve brought your pet and we aren’t notified to charge you (we hate to do this :() you will be charged $75.The sun porch that has the twin bed and futon is not air conditioned. It has two doors into the main house and can steal some AC that way from the house, however it will be warmer in the hot summer months than the rest of the house. There are two box fans in the closet to help push cool air out there. It has a wood-burning stove for the colder months that keeps it very warm, just remember to bring wood.Newton County is a dry county so you will need to remember to bring your own alcohol with you. The closest liquor store is Wow Liquor Store in Harrison about 30 mins away. You can also get wine and beer at grocery stores in Harrison.Grill is a park style charcoal grill. You may use leftover charcoal and lighter fluid, but might bring your own just in case.If you book an extended stay (14 days or more) our cleaning fee is $200. We will charge you the $125 difference separately via the resolution center.** We want to note Vrbo has pinned our location in the wrong spot! Rest and soak in the forest peace and beautiful views, or get outside and play! Feels miles from anywhere, but you’ll be just up the road from the Buffalo National River, and minutes from Jasper, AR for historic dining or a small-town stroll.Quiet area in the middle of the woods, just off Hwy 74 outside of Jasper, AR. Unpaved road to the cabin can be a little rough between gradings. Private parking at the cabin. You will receive detailed directions before your stay. **We share the neighborhood with black bears who show up from time to time, so please keep all food/food prep/serving items inside the cabin, and any extra trash in the metal bin outside!** Dollar General and Harp’s grocery are just minutes away in Jasper.The Retreat offers a full kitchen with electric range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, all the tools you need to prepare a Thanksgiving meal or do some summer grilling, just bring the groceries! Settle in on the covered porch with a coffee from our coffee corner and enjoy the views. Master bedroom downstairs has a king bed, en-suite bathroom with washer and dryer available for guest use. Loft upstairs has one full bed, one twin bed, and a full bath with tub. Living room area features comfortable furniture and a TV with Roku for access to all of your personal streaming accounts. Wifi is complimentary at the cabin, but not guaranteed as the area can be prone to internet outages. Outside space is equipped with a large fire pit and seating, gas grill for outdoor cooking, picnic table, and plenty of grassy area to run around. We welcome your furry friends!**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** Wifi can be unreliable here in the woods, so plan to be outside and entertain the possibility of time unplugged!Not a suitable road for motorcycles! Very quiet and private 1 bedroom cabin with seasonal views of the Little Buffalo River. Fully equipped kitchen. Access to beach and seasonal swimming hole. A perfect romantic getaway for couples. There is an additional sleeping area separate from the house if you wanted to bring an extra guest or two. Lotus Point is only 6 miles from Jasper. Close to many access points on the upper section of the Buffalo National River for fishing, floating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.The spaceThe main cabin has 1 bedroom with queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and bath and sits on 9 acres of mostly wooded land. There is internet service and Roku TV as well as a variety of board games and books available in the cozy living room for guests to enjoy. The deck overlooking the Little Buffalo River is great for just sitting and relaxing or barbecuing on the gas grill provided. There is a small bungalow that can sleep two additional guests should you decide to bring friends. It is detached from the house, and is perched on a bluff overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed, A/C and heater, bottled water and coffee maker are provided, however, there is NO bathroom or cooking facilities. It is just for sleeping. There is an additional fee for use of this space so please be sure to indicate if you wish to use the bungalow. There is a steep and narrow trail that leads down to the beach and swimming hole for those who are adventurous.Guest accessGuests will have full use of the cabin and grounds and are welcome to help themselves to herbs and any vegetables that are in season to add to meals during their stay. The trail down to the river below the house is quite steep and narrow, please use good judgement and caution when hiking down to the beach (and back up!) Feel free to explore the surrounding property, however, remember you are in the great outdoors, so you may encounter creepy crawlies, like mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, snakes, wasps, etc. Bringing some bug spray may be a good idea if you plan on hiking. You may be fortunate and see an abundance of wildlife, such as deer, elk, turkey, a variety of birds, including eagles, owls, and herons. The river is available for fishing, however you must still have an Arkansas fishing license. There is a small beach below the cabin with a seasonal swimming hole for guests to enjoy. NO HUNTING IS PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY.Other things to noteNewton County Arkansas is a dry county. This means there are no places to purchase alcohol. We suggest you bring beer, wine, spirits with you. Feels miles from anywhere, but you’ll be just up the road from the Buffalo National River, and minutes from Jasper, AR for historic dining or a small-town stroll.Quiet area in the middle of the woods, just off Hwy 74 outside of Jasper, AR. Unpaved road to the cabin can be a little rough between gradings. Private parking at the cabin. You will receive detailed directions before your stay. **We share the neighborhood with black bears who show up from time to time, so please keep all food/food prep/serving items inside the cabin, and any extra trash in the metal bin outside!** Dollar General and Harp’s grocery are just minutes away in Jasper.The Retreat offers a full kitchen with electric range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, all the tools you need to prepare a Thanksgiving meal or do some summer grilling, just bring the groceries! Settle in on the covered porch with a coffee from our coffee corner and enjoy the views. Master bedroom downstairs has a king bed, en-suite bathroom with washer and dryer available for guest use. Loft upstairs has one full bed, one twin bed, and a full bath with tub. Living room area features comfortable furniture and a TV with Roku for access to all of your personal streaming accounts. Very quiet and private 1 bedroom cabin with seasonal views of the Little Buffalo River. Fully equipped kitchen. Access to beach and seasonal swimming hole. A perfect romantic getaway for couples. There is an additional sleeping area separate from the house if you wanted to bring an extra guest or two. Lotus Point is only 6 miles from Jasper. Close to many access points on the upper section of the Buffalo National River for fishing, floating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.The spaceThe main cabin has 1 bedroom with queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and bath and sits on 9 acres of mostly wooded land. There is internet service and Roku TV as well as a variety of board games and books available in the cozy living room for guests to enjoy. The deck overlooking the Little Buffalo River is great for just sitting and relaxing or barbecuing on the gas grill provided. There is a small bungalow that can sleep two additional guests should you decide to bring friends. It is detached from the house, and is perched on a bluff overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed, A/C and heater, bottled water and coffee maker are provided, however, there is NO bathroom or cooking facilities. It is just for sleeping. There is an additional fee for use of this space so please be sure to indicate if you wish to use the bungalow. There is a steep and narrow trail that leads down to the beach and swimming hole for those who are adventurous.Guest accessGuests will have full use of the cabin and grounds and are welcome to help themselves to herbs and any vegetables that are in season to add to meals during their stay. The trail down to the river below the house is quite steep and narrow, please use good judgement and caution when hiking down to the beach (and back up!) Feel free to explore the surrounding property, however, remember you are in the great outdoors, so you may encounter creepy crawlies, like mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, snakes, wasps, etc. Bringing some bug spray may be a good idea if you plan on hiking. You may be fortunate and see an abundance of wildlife, such as deer, elk, turkey, a variety of birds, including eagles, owls, and herons. The river is available for fishing, however you must still have an Arkansas fishing license. There is a small beach below the cabin with a seasonal swimming hole for guests to enjoy. NO HUNTING IS PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY.Other things to noteNewton County Arkansas is a dry county. This means there are no places to purchase alcohol. The closest liquor store is Wow Liquor Store in Harrison about 30 mins away. You can also get wine and beer at grocery stores in Harrison.Grill is a park style charcoal grill. You may use leftover charcoal and lighter fluid, but might bring your own just in case.If you book an extended stay (14 days or more) our cleaning fee is $200. Feels miles from anywhere, but you’ll be just up the road from the Buffalo National River, and minutes from Jasper, AR for historic dining or a small-town stroll.Quiet area in the middle of the woods, just off Hwy 74 outside of Jasper, AR. Unpaved road to the cabin can be a little rough between gradings. Private parking at the cabin. You will receive detailed directions before your stay. **We share the neighborhood with black bears who show up from time to time, so please keep all food/food prep/serving items inside the cabin, and any extra trash in the metal bin outside!** Dollar General and Harp’s grocery are just minutes away in Jasper.The Retreat offers a full kitchen with electric range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, all the tools you need to prepare a Thanksgiving meal or do some summer grilling, just bring the groceries! Settle in on the covered porch with a coffee from our coffee corner and enjoy the views. Master bedroom downstairs has a king bed, en-suite bathroom with washer and dryer available for guest use. Loft upstairs has one full bed, one twin bed, and a full bath with tub. Living room area features comfortable furniture and a TV with Roku for access to all of your personal streaming accounts. Wifi is complimentary at the cabin, but not guaranteed as the area can be prone to internet outages. Outside space is equipped with a large fire pit and seating, gas grill for outdoor cooking, picnic table, and plenty of grassy area to run around. Very quiet and private 1 bedroom cabin with seasonal views of the Little Buffalo River. Fully equipped kitchen. Access to beach and seasonal swimming hole. A perfect romantic getaway for couples. There is an additional sleeping area separate from the house if you wanted to bring an extra guest or two. Lotus Point is only 6 miles from Jasper. Close to many access points on the upper section of the Buffalo National River for fishing, floating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.The spaceThe main cabin has 1 bedroom with queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and bath and sits on 9 acres of mostly wooded land. There is internet service and Roku TV as well as a variety of board games and books available in the cozy living room for guests to enjoy. The deck overlooking the Little Buffalo River is great for just sitting and relaxing or barbecuing on the gas grill provided. There is a small bungalow that can sleep two additional guests should you decide to bring friends. It is detached from the house, and is perched on a bluff overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed, A/C and heater, bottled water and coffee maker are provided, however, there is NO bathroom or cooking facilities. It is just for sleeping. There is an additional fee for use of this space so please be sure to indicate if you wish to use the bungalow. There is a steep and narrow trail that leads down to the beach and swimming hole for those who are adventurous.Guest accessGuests will have full use of the cabin and grounds and are welcome to help themselves to herbs and any vegetables that are in season to add to meals during their stay. The trail down to the river below the house is quite steep and narrow, please use good judgement and caution when hiking down to the beach (and back up!) Feel free to explore the surrounding property, however, remember you are in the great outdoors, so you may encounter creepy crawlies, like mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, snakes, wasps, etc. Bringing some bug spray may be a good idea if you plan on hiking. You may be fortunate and see an abundance of wildlife, such as deer, elk, turkey, a variety of birds, including eagles, owls, and herons. The river is available for fishing, however you must still have an Arkansas fishing license. There is a small beach below the cabin with a seasonal swimming hole for guests to enjoy. NO HUNTING IS PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY.Other things to noteNewton County Arkansas is a dry county. This means there are no places to purchase alcohol.
