I was thrilled by this precious, historic building! The elevator is also retro, like something out of Harry Potter! The building itself is intertwined with the historical background of Kandy. In the hallway in front of the rooms, old uniforms are even displayed. The room was very clean! It had both air conditioning and a fan, but even without them, it was cool despite how hot it was outside (I stayed in mid-September). There was a refrigerator, kettle, hairdryer, TV, and about four hangers. Shampoo and other amenities were also provided. It even had a bathtub! It's right in front of the Temple of the Tooth and close to a shopping mall, so it's a recommended base for sightseeing! However, there's music playing outside until about 8 PM, which might bother some people.

The views are unbeatable: The lobby and pool face the Mahaweli River directly. Sitting by the river in the evening with a drink, watching the sunset, was absolutely the highlight of my entire Kandy trip. The pool is a definite plus: That infinity-edge pool stretching out to the river is incredibly photogenic, and the water is very clean, making for a wonderfully comfortable swim. Great dining: Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties and Western options. The freshly made omelets and Sri Lankan curries prepared by the chef were delicious. I even tried a local Sri Lankan delicacy, a fried egg 🍳, which was quite tasty.

A wonderful stay with absolutely breathtaking views. Wherever you look, you’re surrounded by rolling mountains, and the grounds are beautiful with lots of native wildlife; you really feel at one with nature. The service was exceptional throughout. All staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely eager to help. A special mention to the reception team, especially Jenovia, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, showing us around and making us feel very welcome from the start. The hotel is also very family-friendly, with a small play park and thoughtful touches like towel animals from housekeeping (Ravi) that made our little girl’s day. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, including both Western and Sri Lankan options. A few very small improvements (such as having bacon readily available, colder milk at breakfast, and ice with poolside drinks) would make the experience truly five-star, but these are minor details. Rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities provided, and overall the level of service really stood out. If you’re looking for stunning views, a peaceful setting, and excellent hospitality, this is a fantastic choice and one I’d happily recommend.

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. It’s also right on Kandy Lake, so it’s a nice walk (and not too far from the Kandyan Culture Center and the Sacred Tooth Temple Meals were good, but service sometimes is a little messy. Buffet was missing things like tongs or a cloth over the tray handles (which were hot to touch), but there’s a lot of servers walking around so I’m sure they’ll be able to do double-checks on this

It is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful view. However, walls are thin and you can heard a lot of noise. It is not easy to get there because it is located almost in the top of the mountain. Another good thing is that the restaurant closes at 10pm and food is good and cheap. We didn’t find the swimming pool since we stayed just one night. It was a nice stay by the way and breakfast was good. PD: We booked double room that it is supposed to have a king/queen bed but it was two individual beds put together.

Very satisfied with this hotel. Even though it's on the main street, it's surprisingly quiet. The room is spacious with views of both the mountains and the city. There's no breakfast, but a fridge is provided, so you can buy milk, eggs, bread, etc., to make your own. You can walk to the Temple of the Tooth or take a tuk-tuk. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful; they even helped us book a ride-sharing car at a good price.

We happened to be there during the Esala Perahera (Festival of the Tooth), so we walked to an area near the temple in the afternoon to stake out a spot for the parade. Walking back to the hotel after the event helped us avoid traffic. A big thank you to the lovely front desk staff, Dilrukshi, for her patient service! The breakfast offered both English and Indian options, both of which were good. Highly recommend!

I was scared to book due to the mixed reviews. I was also scared as the lake view room is right at the busy street. Yes, it is very busy, but the rooms are quite soundproof. You still here some noise from the street but it is not much. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. True class! Staff is very friendly too, with a great restaurant at the ground floor. If you are walking, it is very dangerous to cross the street to and from the hotel, it would be great if the park guard could assist. Please note that there are only UK plugs in the room, so you'll need a converter if you have a different plug type.

I was thrilled by this precious, historic building! The elevator is also retro, like something out of Harry Potter! The building itself is intertwined with the historical background of Kandy. In the hallway in front of the rooms, old uniforms are even displayed. The room was very clean! It had both air conditioning and a fan, but even without them, it was cool despite how hot it was outside (I stayed in mid-September). There was a refrigerator, kettle, hairdryer, TV, and about four hangers. Shampoo and other amenities were also provided. It even had a bathtub! It's right in front of the Temple of the Tooth and close to a shopping mall, so it's a recommended base for sightseeing! However, there's music playing outside until about 8 PM, which might bother some people.

A wonderful stay with absolutely breathtaking views. Wherever you look, you’re surrounded by rolling mountains, and the grounds are beautiful with lots of native wildlife; you really feel at one with nature. The service was exceptional throughout. All staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely eager to help. A special mention to the reception team, especially Jenovia, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, showing us around and making us feel very welcome from the start. The hotel is also very family-friendly, with a small play park and thoughtful touches like towel animals from housekeeping (Ravi) that made our little girl’s day. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, including both Western and Sri Lankan options. A few very small improvements (such as having bacon readily available, colder milk at breakfast, and ice with poolside drinks) would make the experience truly five-star, but these are minor details. Rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities provided, and overall the level of service really stood out. If you’re looking for stunning views, a peaceful setting, and excellent hospitality, this is a fantastic choice and one I’d happily recommend.

This is a super upscale hotel with stunning views, just a 20-30 minute walk from the Temple of the Tooth Relic and Kandy Lake. Transportation is incredibly convenient; tuk-tuks are everywhere, and riding in one is refreshingly cool. The hotel is very clean, with new facilities and artistically decorated ceiling paintings. Best of all, there are two restaurants with panoramic views and an infinity pool – perfect for relaxing all day! The meals are exquisite, and the Mix Juice is Michelin-starred and absolutely delicious! ✌️ The front desk service is super professional; they helped us arrange transportation – highly recommended!

The service is very good, the environment is average, the room is very humid and there are big bugs. The advantage is that the location is very good. It is on the top of the mountain in Kandy and has a good view. When you wake up in the morning, you can hear the chanting of Buddha's Tooth Relic Temple and see the morning mist.

Nice location. Beautiful view. Great service as well. Staff is nice. Breakfast spread is good - although many items were very salty. Same for dinner buffet. One issue - no lift. So people who cant take stairs are unable to go to bar above or spa below.
