Everything was perfect; except the dinner buffet. We will come to that later. I quote four memorable experiences.
1. The reception staff was well-trained and professional and any problems such as a billing confusion was resolved effortlessly, and more, the manager suggested me to relax in my room while they sort out the issue; no need to stand at the reception. What a nice gesture!
2. There was some drainage issue in one of the rooms (I had booked several rooms). A call to zero resolved the issue within 10 minutes. The service was ultra-fast for a hotel of this size.
3. They have shown a bold move by placing specially challenged (speech and hearing) individuals at public facing roles such as the butler, the restaurant waiter, etc. They are all well-trained and were able to communicate with my parents, my kid, and us effortlessly. Of course, none of us are trained in sign-language but somehow they managed it extremely well; hence this was a unique and amazing experience.
4. While we were checking in, there was some confusion with some of our guests who hadn't arrived yet. So, we decided to drop the bags and come back later for checkin. When the manager noticed that my elderly parents were in the car outside, they sent a couple of bottles of water to the car. Costs nothing but left a lasting impression! The dinner buffet was fine in general but the management could work on the menu and taste better, given the spotless nature of all of their other amenities and services. The breakfast buffet, however, had amazing taste. Moreover, in any other city, I would not have this complain but in Kolkata, the locals are typically foodies and the cheapest to the most expensive places in the city cannot compromise on taste. I would like to give the hotel a benefit of the doubt- I stayed during a (better: the) major North Indian festival. That might explain the main cooks on leave and backup options turned on, who tried their best but did not quite get it right.FromRUB 4,028

Child abuser . Marriott hotel are allowing children as young as 3 years in their bar and not one , seven of them and for hours. They were in the bar when their parents were drinking and even the children were holding alcoholic beverages. I objected few times regarding allowing Children in a bar but no action taken.
It’s against the law and I believe Indian law doesn’t allow less than 21 years old access in a bar.
I couldn’t believe Marriott are allowing illegal activity in a geotag operated by them and that also rested to child and only word I can use is Child Abusing.SOLD OUT

We stayed at The Peerless Inn, Kolkata for two nights. The overall experience was pleasant.
The room and bathroom were excellent—clean, spacious, and comfortable. A special thanks to Ms. Neha at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful right from check-in and arranged our room very quickly.
We are especially grateful to Mr. Somnath, his hospitality truly stood out. “Thank you” doesn’t feel enough to express our appreciation for his kindness and service.
We also had the chance to try the Aaheli restaurant for authentic Bengali cuisine. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The restaurant manager, Mr. Sanjib, was very warm and made us feel truly welcome.
The breakfast had a good variety and the food was delicious. However, the staff at the breakfast restaurant were not very polite and lacked a welcoming attitude or smiles, which slightly affected the morning experience.
Overall, our stay was wonderful, except for the breakfast restaurant staff’s attitude. We would definitely recommend Peerless Inn for its great location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional hospitality from key members of the team.FromRUB 3,535

The hotel's food and beverages are fantastic (pictured), the breakfast is very rich, and the Chinese buffet is also the same (the RMB is close to two hundred). The service was very considerate. One night before check-out, the front desk called the room to get information about the flight. When I knew that it was a flight at 5 pm, I immediately indicated that I could extend the check-out time to half past two. Every time I go out, the staff of the Concierge will use the uber to call the car, and I will not bother. The room cleaning was also very careful. Next time, I will choose to live. The downside is that the market on both sides of the door is too embarrassing, and I can't go out for a walk at night, but the hotel is soundproof, and entering the iron gate is another quiet world. Five star quality room. Just be careful on the street as a fast and furious car chasing its own tail pipe occurred as I was advising a very strange uber driver. Honestly speaking, the hotel was great. The location was a bit far from the airport, BUT it is located at one of the cleanest places in Kolkata, making it a huge plus. Now for the details:
Room: 5/5. The decoration, the ambiance, the wall art.
Lobby and other places: 5/5. Absolutely loved the design and hotel architecture.
Bathroom: 3.5/5. Honestly, it is a basic bathroom, but I expected more from a 5 star hotel, even on the cheaper rooms. There was no bathtub, which I feel is fairly common everywhere I’ve stayed in.
ONE PROBLEM: A major issue I have faced was after turning on the water. It had a smell, which I am guessing is from the river beside it. I feel like the Hotel should add a water filter to avoid this problem, because the smell doesn’t go away until the water is turned on for at least 5-10minutes. If I wasn’t South Asian, I probably couldn’t have taken the smell as easily as I did. I would put this in High Priority to fix for attracting many more customers.
Bar and Food: 4/5. Good collection, great taste but very expensive.
Lastly, a shoutout to Al Jabbar and Al Sahid from the Housecleaning service, they were extremely polite, fast, very thorough with their cleaning and very well mannered. Absolutely a delight to talk to and learn about the local areas.

This Hotel is very convenient if you have to do a night stay at Kolkata and catch a flight the next day. Less than 15 mins away from the airport. Breakfast buffet was good. The food at the restaurant was good as well. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable for a nights stay. FromRUB 6,395

The towel rack and safe in the bathroom were positioned too high, making them completely out of reach for a petite person like me.
The next day, I asked them to place the towels where I could reach them, but I never used the safe.
The chair was also too high and couldn't be adjusted, making it difficult to sit on and dangerous, so I never used it.
I arrived late at night and had the wrong date, so there was no reservation for the day I arrived.
The female staff member who dealt with me was unfriendly and rude.

Overall, it was a good experience. The location is very good. One can reach the nearest metro station by walk only. Rooms are clean and maintained. They allow early check-in and late checkout (subject to availability. Only one bad thing, buffet breakfast is not suggested, as a group of non professional people maintains this. I.e Swiggy - Zomato etc , so it’s clearly that you have to get abused by their food ….if this the policy of this property then kindly have it posted on your listing also - !!!!!!! All your listings across the online platforms should be mentioned as “NO OUTSIDE FOOD” - you cannot keep the customers in the dark and tell them when they come in for check in !!!!!!! I had been at this hotel earlier in the year & found it to be nice. However, this time round I found d the rooms a little disappointing. There was a mustiness about the place. The bathroom floor was slippery. They kept forgetting to give us our towels. We had to keep asking for them. Breakfast was also not very good this time round, limited choices & service was very slow.

Picked this hotel because it’s a reliable brand and it didn’t disappoint. It was clean and we had everything we needed. The lads at reception tried to sneakily add some extra charges when I checked-in which was frustrating as I’d paid up front, so I’m glad I was concentrating!

Had a great stay, would’ve given a 5/5 but for some reason during check in the receptionist kept insisting that she could only give me 2 x twin bed room for 6 people even though I’d paid for 3 x twin bed rooms. Maybe she was confused but it’s not what we needed after a long journey (especially even after showing her my booking confirmation).
However in saying that, everything else was great and staff are super friendly and attentive.
