My girls declared this the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at! Their first impression of the room was just “okay”, it was clean, comfortable, and a decent size, with separate toilet and shower areas, plus a sliding door that could close off the sleeping area. But what really won them over were all the little extras that this dormy inn offers. We booked the room with breakfast, and it was absolutely worth it. The breakfast spread had a great variety, and although they have a queue system in place, we never had to wait. After walking close to 20,000 steps exploring Kyoto each day, the onsen became the highlight of our evenings. The girls would head straight for the complimentary ice cream afterwards, followed by the massage chairs (when they weren’t occupied, they’re very popular!). We would then end the night with the free late-night ramen. 😆 That became our nightly routine for all four nights, and it made our stay in Kyoto even more memorable before we moved on to Osaka. We’d definitely stay here again. The only question we had was, why doesn’t the women’s bath have a cool/cold plunge pool like the men’s? It would have been the perfect way to cool down after the hot onsen!

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The decor really added to the atmosphere of the place and there was a lovely communal area for relaxing. This offered different seating areas with access to free tea and coffee, a microwave and mini oven. The hotel is directly above a 7/eleven so it was very convenient for bringing in food to eat. There was a laundry room but it was very busy and the washing machine didn't sound very happy and the drying seemed to take people a long time. We were glad to have done washing before arriving here. The room was quite big and the bed was on a raised platform so cases could be stored underneath. It was very dark in the room because of the decor. We did sleep well. The bathroom was very modern and clean with a wet room style shower. All areas of the hotel were very clean throughout our stay and staff were visibly working to maintain a high standard. Kyoto was extremely busy at the time of our stay (during golden week) so we focused our visits to places that could be walked to or accessed from the Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. We did one trip that involved buses and it was horrendously busy with the longest queues at bus stops we've ever seen.

I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing.

This hotel is super convenient, right next to Kyoto Station. If you exit Kyoto Station and head right, past the Kyoto Theater, you'll be there in no time. It's a lifesaver for anyone traveling with luggage, making transfers to the Shinkansen, bus, or subway incredibly easy. The room's layout was well-thought-out, and the bedding was wonderfully soft and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were spotless. Even for a standard twin room, it didn't feel cramped at all. Overall, the hotel was really good.

The room is relatively large and the transportation is quite convenient. The vibration of the subway downstairs is too obvious. If you pay attention to it, you will feel very uncomfortable. The attitude of the front desk customer service is not good. For a room rate of more than 2,000 yuan, the service level of three stars is really not good.

The best part of this hotel was definitely the manga collection! As a manga fan, I absolutely loved having so many volumes available to read. It was such a fun and unique touch that made the stay memorable. Overall, it's a nice little hotel and a good choice for a one-night stay in Kyoto. The room was comfortable, and the atmosphere was cozy. The only downside is the location. It's a bit far from the nearest subway station and not really within easy walking distance of Kyoto's main attractions. That said, I'm a big fan of walking, so doing 25,000 steps a day around Kyoto was actually part of the fun for me. The breakfast was okay, but in hindsight, I probably would have skipped it and tried one of the many local cafés or restaurants instead. Overall, it's a cute hotel with a lot of charm. The only thing I missed was Netflix in the room, and then it would have been perfect!

It's incredibly convenient for exploring various attractions from Kyoto Station, which also offers a wide array of shopping and dining options. The hotel's service and cleanliness are outstanding. The most beautiful secret garden, the whole vibe is quiet and meditative. Although the hotel isn't huge, it has a strong wild, mountaintop feel, and the air is incredibly fresh. The service is absolutely exceptional. From breakfast and afternoon tea/wine to the matcha time at the Tea House, everyone patiently explains each ingredient. I had a great overall stay at this Osaka hotel, primarily thanks to its fantastic location which offers easy access to public transport and sits within walking distance of major tourism spots. While the room was quite small and the facilities were limited—which is expected for a 3-star property—the space was well-utilized and served as a convenient base for exploring. What really stood out was the service; the staff were incredibly polite and helpful throughout my visit, making the experience feel welcoming despite the simpler accommodations.

The room was a bit small, and the bedding felt a bit rough, which made it uncomfortable to sleep, especially with the air conditioning on making it very dry. However, the hotel's hot spring was great, and the breakfast spread was impressive. For dinner, there were several good restaurant options, and the food quality was consistently high. The service was also excellent. It was very convenient to walk to nearby attractions like Nanzen-ji Temple and Eikan-do. Plus, today's scenic area had some beautiful views.

The room was relatively spacious, and the furniture showed a bit of wear and tear, which I guess is just from age. What really annoyed me was the slightly plump young lady at the front desk who checked me in. There was absolutely no verbal communication throughout the whole process; she just used gestures to show me where to scan my passport or pointed to text for me to read, leaving me to guess what she meant. At first, I thought the hotel might be employing people with disabilities to get tax breaks, but then I realized she could nod or shake her head in response to my questions, proving at least her hearing was fine. Still, I'd suggest the hotel assigns staff who can communicate verbally to front desk duties. It would definitely improve the guest experience. After all, people are tired from traveling all day and don't want to play guessing games.

A trip to Arashiyama with my elderly mother during the spring cherry blossom season. It had been a while since I had stayed at a traditional inn. We stayed here for one night. It had a hot spring, a good location, and included dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious. - Bamboo shoot rice and firefly squid tempura for dinner... The portions were large, but it was a pain to finish it all at the end, which was disappointing, even though it was delicious. - The breakfast was perfect in both quantity and quality. The facilities: - The guest rooms are old, but well kept. - The open-air bath on the top floor was pleasant. I think the open-air bath needs to be cleaned and maintained a little better. The inn's staff are close to each other, so you can get a glimpse of how well they work. I hope that the inn will continue to be an easy place to work for both the staff who have been contributing for many years and the new staff. It was an inn that I would like to stay at again. (Next time, I might skip lunch just to have dinner.) Thank you very much for this opportunity.

Superb experience in Nohga. Everything here has been curated very carefully, you can tell the people or group behind this whole hotel concept really put in so much thought for their guests. Absolutely loved my entire stay here. I eat breakfast at their bakery every morning. Love their customisable bagels, mortadella sandwich, salted bun and cinnamon mochi donut. Chocolate mochi donut was a little too sweet. Americano and matcha latte were great. Thoroughly enjoyed their rooftop bar every night (opens till 12am). Awesome vibes, very romantic atmosphere. Staff are sweet, gives heat packs and blankets to keep us warm. Warm cocktails are a must during winters. You can order any random cocktails and they all taste so good. The distance from the train station to this hotel is quite a distance but I think the overall experience you get in this hotel makes the walk a worthwhile one. Compared to three other accommodations in Kyoto, this place truly has an unbeatable location, just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station. The booking process was a bit of a roller coaster; prices surged during peak season, and vacancies were scarce. The rooms are quite spacious. In the evenings, there's even a queue for the elevator, which shows how popular the hotel is. Many locals come here for gatherings and meals. The basic hygiene is acceptable, but the bathroom exhaust fan was full of dust, which was a bit off-putting to see. For the first two nights, the duvet felt itchy, but it was comfortable after the bedding was changed. The breakfast buffet was extensive. The hotel's location is excellent. Turn left when you leave, and there's an Aeon mall, which is great for shopping. On the first floor, there's a Gong Cha, where I had a delicious matcha drink. Further inside, there's a bakery that had a collaboration with 'Demon Slayer'; I bought a cup there, and their bread is really good. Even further inside is a supermarket with a wide variety of products, and in the evenings, they offer discounted sushi and bento boxes. Overall, I think the hotel is quite good, and its convenient location makes it a place I'd likely stay at again on my next visit.

The rooms feature a modern design with wooden furniture, and the hotel environment is very pleasant. It feels very vibrant, suitable for both leisure and business travelers. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the bedding is extremely comfortable. The hotel's overall architecture, with its red bricks and black grid windows, is both classic and contemporary, blending well with Kyoto's traditional wooden building style. The first floor houses a stylish small shopping center, Shinfukan, with trendy brands, which is quite interesting. I would definitely choose to stay here again. Everything is perfect except the so-called wagyu dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the photo of the menu presents a nice wagyu and you can pre-order as many times as you can within 90 minutes, the beef was served in a very disgusting appearance. It is tough and dark yet it is not done inside. It is definitely not worthy of 7890 yens pax. It was electric grill but not charcoal grill. Anyway, the services provided the waiter, Alan, is brilliant. He was sincere and friendly. The housekeeper, Ms Aina Sao was also deserve my praise. She works with a nice and sincere manner and always put a smile on her face. Also, there are free wine, snacks and beer after 3 pm. You could also grind coffee beans and make yourself a cup of nice coffee. The public bath is not a real onsen. There should be no natural minerals in the water but a slight smell of chlorine. The hotel is small yet exquisite, offering excellent tea sets and tea. It boasts a beautiful garden shared with Okazaki Shrine's別邸 (detached residence). The hotel facilities are also good (though unfortunately, no buckwheat pillows, and the air conditioning temperature was a bit uncomfortable and hard to adjust). The lounge has a nice view, serving only alcohol, coffee, and tea. I ordered a chestnut cake. The restaurant service was polite but lacked warmth. The bread is quite good. I also saw his bakery in Osaka Takashimaya. The room area is considered large in Japan, and the hygiene is also OK. Dyson hair dryer, free mask, whitening sensitive skin should be used with caution. The minibar gave a lot of small biscuits and fruits, and the taste is OK. There is no bottled water. This was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan. The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station. From the first view of the hotel inside we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The room blew us away when we opened the door, it was well laid out. The service and food were exceptional, absolutely loved the ”Meat Theatre” this was an all you can eat and well worth the money. The staff were truly helpful at all times. Exceptionally good value loved it and would recommend it to everyone we know that are going to Kyoto.

DDave FuryThis was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan. The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station.

Traveling to Kyoto with friends and staying at this hotel was an excellent experience. The location is superb, making it easy to get to all the major attractions. The rooms were spotless, and the public hot spring was perfect for easing the fatigue from walking around all day. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the facilities were complete and functional. I highly recommend this for anyone traveling with friends.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious, especially the bathroom, which was quite large. The hotel was also very clean, with daily housekeeping. Its central location, close to many malls and restaurants, is a big plus. I'd definitely book this hotel again.

Booked this during the rainy season for just over 300 [currency unit], which is excellent value for money. I was very happy with the room assignment; high floor with a great view, and even though it's street-facing, it wasn't noisy. The facilities were excellent. The area nearby is a well-established residential neighborhood, not overly touristy, which is perfect for experiencing local life.

The hotel room was very clean, and the staff were friendly, professional, and polite throughout our stay. The location was also quite convenient, although it requires a short walk to the nearest subway station. Other than that, I was assigned one of the smaller corner rooms, so the space felt a little limited and there wasn’t much room to move around. The breakfast selection was also fairly limited. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying here again.
