Plus: under 10 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Convenient location with bus stops right outside the hotel. Check in was really easy. Outside of hotel looks right out of an old movie, really pretty — plus the corridor on entry. See attached photos. Cons: the room is dated, expected for an old hotel. You get what you pay for I guess. The most terrible thing was the extra blanket they provided smelled really bad - like a wet carpet or dog that has dried up on its own and retained that most terrible smell. I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.

My mom and I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location is perfect, which is actually in the city center. It is close to Victoria train station, Piccadilly station, tram and Piccadilly garden bus station. So you can go everywhere in an easy way. The room is clean, comfortable, warm and quiet, with hot water and high speed free wifi. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed quite an amazing journey here.

The hotel itself is a work of art, with an excellent location within walking distance to all attractions and the train station. The rooms not facing the street are very quiet. Rooms are equipped with a capsule coffee machine and an electric kettle, and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom includes a shower and a bathtub, bathrobes, and a scale. Guests can enjoy complimentary use of the spa facilities, which feature a swimming pool, bubble bath, and both dry and wet saunas, all in a lovely setting. The gym is well-equipped. It happened to be a family member's birthday, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake in the room in advance.

The location is super convenient, really close to the Schengen visa office, less than a five-minute walk away. It's also very near Chinatown. The front desk service was excellent. However, the facilities are quite old and small. Remember to ask the front desk for a toothbrush and slippers; when I stayed, I couldn't get slippers because they said they were out.

We came here to stay the night after a concert and our stay was perfect. Check in was easy as the staff are so friendly. The place itself is really nice as they have a restaurant, cafe and a bar that opens until 1am. It accessible to students to study in or people who generally just need a place to sit, as long as they buy something, which I personally really liked. We had the one bedroom suite room and it was so spacious. It includes a fridge, microwave, kettle, hair dryer and iron with an ironing board. The tv includes chrome cast so we could watch a Dance competition from YouTube on it. It also has a bathtub and I love having baths. The location is great as there it a Tesco just across it and it isn’t far from St Peter’s square so trams are just close by. Outside is the *** bar so it was actually quite noisy outside so beware on the weekend as people will be out and about until 5am. The only downside about the room that it was quite dusty on the floor but that’s the only problem.

Our first stay at this hotel was rather mixed. The service from the front of house team was great. Very friendly and relaxed. We knew from seeing other reviews that we would be offered a complimentary welcome drink. However this was a Long Island iced tea with no alternative offered other than a non-alcoholic version. This isn’t a drink that either of us like so was of no value to us. The room was clean though very compact but it was disappointing that for the premium price of £225 you don’t get a fridge, complimentary bottled water or more than 2 sachets of milk for your tea/coffee. Whilst the bed was comfortable the room was a bit on the cold side and our sleep experience was not good. We expected to have some street noise into the early hours as it’s a city centre hotel close to bars & restaurants but what was more disturbing was the bins in the alleyway behind us being emptied several times throughout the night (4am!!!) making a horrendous noise that woke us both even though we were wearing earplugs. We decided not to have breakfast at the hotel due to the close proximity of various cafes.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience. A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay. The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience. One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons. In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.

I left some clothes in the room, and the staff promptly emailed me, offering to return them to me at my convenience. There's also a hotel deposit of around £100, which takes a bit longer to be refunded, probably due to international processing times. The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel is very close to the University of Manchester, with a supermarket nearby. It's very convenient, and there's a 250 bus that goes directly to the biggest shopping center. So no issues with the staff down at the reception area at all, doing a smashing job representing the hotel, telling us about the app too upon arrival... check in the hotel earlier with app very cool, very nice, also the reception area is where the big bosses of this hotel choose to spend most of their budget as when you get to the rooms it does show. Cleaning staff - now what are they doing? Because they certainly aren't cleaning the rooms, the room was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in, windows, bed, bathroom, carpets, i know its a budget hotel but basic levels of hygiene and cleaniness should be a must in a hotel, ive stayed in cheaper hotels and they were cleaner! Needs a refurb in the rooms and big recruitment drive for cleaning staff. Me and my partner had to make the bed before sleeping because we couldn't stomach sleeping on it because of how it was. Area is very loud, traffic, horns beeping, people shouting. On a positive note I did like the shower in the bathroom, the water pressure was excellent and it is in a brilliant location attending gigs and festivals in the area.

no parking at this establishment and no dropping off available at times as their maintenance and delivery vans might take up the small space cut into the front pavement. They do provide you with a discount voucher at nearby public carparks. Rooms are clean but the decorating is a patch up job throughout. The noise from the tram it is horrible and through the night as windows are not soundproof. In our room the heating was out of order and oil filled radiators were put up instead. Television sets have either the option for TV channels or to connect to your phone: bad aerial prevented viewing most channels and TV only connected to the staff's androids and not to our iphones. There was no options for apps such as youtube or netflix and kids have to entertain themselves on their tablet. Swimming pool is the size of a private one in a residential home. Staff is courteous and the breakfast is way and beyond satisfactory. The majestic hall from their photos was nowhere to be seen. Would go again if no other options shall be available at the time.

Staff clean the rooms daily, so there are absolutely no worries about hygiene. Location: Situated right by the train station, the hotel's location is incredibly convenient.
