The room was clean but the bed sunk in the middle. The sofa was hard and made crunchy noises when you sat on it. The restaurant advertised local beer on tap but the waitress told us they didn't have any beer from the local breweries. 2 days after I got home I checked my credit card statement to realize they had charged me twice. They charged me for our room and my brother-in-laws room. We live in different states and made our own reservations separately. He checked in a couple hours before us and put his card on his room. So how did they bill be for both rooms? Be careful if someone else stays there at the same time with the same last name, you might be paying for their room. It took a 20 min phone call and getting the general manager to get this resolved. We have stayed at multiple hotels at the same time and have never had this happen.

This is a very nice hotel, an upgraded Hilton Garden Inn with attached conference center, in the heart of downtown Manhattan. Rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. They seemed a little larger than a typical HGI. The location is perfect for visiting the revitalized downtown area with great restaurants and shops. The mall also is a 10 minute walk away. My only complaint is that the price seems out of line with most of the other hotels in the area. More comparable to the KC area than Manhattan.

Our family all stayed at this hotel for a wedding that weekend. Some of us ended up staying longer and they were very accommodating. They even allowed some to have a late check out as we needed more time to decide. Monday morning, the breakfast area was due to close as we were just getting started, the wonderful lady allowed us to finish eating and made sure we were finished before cleaning up. This meant so much to me as a mom with a sleepy and hungry kid. The pool was great as well.

We stayed here before and so I had no qualms about booking again. This time, there was a little pile of black whiskers on the bathroom counter; very obvious to me so I don't know why housekeeping didn't see it. There was some sort of food truck festival on a weeknight out in the town square, which my room overlooked. Not the hotel's fault, but they could have told me and asked if I wanted a different room. On top of that, they have that super-annoying system that you can't control your A/C, so you can't have the fan on all the time if you want. I didn't discover the hair dryer was missing until I stepped out of the shower. The young lady at the desk helpfully suggested I could come down and get one. Um, no....but you can bring it up to me. Anyway, I'm disappointed in the service/cleanliness this time around. Remains to be seen if we stay here again.

We had stayed at this location 4 years before and I had stated that IF I stayed here again I would request a king size bed, which we did for this stay BUT the room really needs to be renovated. The carpet had stains and one of the stains was quite sticky. The door to the cabinet that the refrigerator is in was broken. The smoke detector was literally hanging by a wire from the ceiling. AC (which worked perfectly 4 years ago) was very loud and kept going on and off, on and off all through the night (both nights). The room felt quite damp which was an uncomfortable feeling too. The shower faucet felt like it was going to fall off into the shower. Not sure what was up with the bed, yes it was a king size bed and normally I cannot feel any movement of the mattress when my husband moves in his sleep but with this mattress I could feel every little movement. AND to top it off, the ice machine on our floor (6th) didn't work. Had to get on the very SLOW elevator to go to the next floor and hope that, that machine worked. I don't remember it being such an issue with sound the last time we were there and maybe it was just busier this time but it was LOUD. You could literally hear entire conversations that were taking place in the hallways outside the door. It sounded like they were in our room. The location is great and the people that work there are fantastic but the rooms need some TLC. We are rewards members and did earn points but I am really glad that I didn't use points to book the room.

My wife and I visited the Bluemont on Saturday the 22nd. Our son goes to K State and lives close to the hotel so it’s very convenient. The hotel is always very clean (we’ve stayed 4 or 5 times). The staff is always very Friendly & Helpful. This particular trip we had interaction with Hattie, Drew & Dewey. Hattie was working the Lounge Bar, we’ve visited with her before and she is such a wonderful person. My wife and I talked with her off and on for about an hour, she even remembered us from our last visit, and her service was top notch! Drew was at the Bar later that evening and although it was close to closing time, he was very friendly and visited with us while he was doing his closing duties. And Dewey showed us the Roof Top Bar / event space and gave us some great food recommendations for our next visit. We love the Hotel for its cleanliness, location. There’s a couple of hotels close by that have the same amenities, and they are a little bit cheaper per night. BUT, I’d much rather pay the few extra dollars and stay at The Bluemont!. We’ve stayed at 2 others because Bluemont was sold out on days we needed. But honestly their staff makes this Hotel worth the extra money spent as it’s not about price, but about the service. We own our own business, so we appreciate great service. Hattie, Drew and Dewey are an asset to the Bluemont Hotel, but they’re just great people too! Thank you guys, we will definitely see you again!!!

Our family has never felt so at home during a hotel stay! The room, breakfast, and pool were all very nice -- but the women who ran the breakfast service made this place extra-special. They gave out small gift bags to the kids at breakfast, which my boys (5 and 7) absolutely loved! It made them feel really special and also helped to keep them entertained during our trip. The "breakfast ladies" were so friendly and welcoming -- it really gave us a nice at-home feeling during a long (almost two weeks) road trip. The location was also great -- close to restaurants; close to K State; and close to Hwy 24 for visiting family up the road. One morning we went to the Flint Hills Discovery Center, which was in walking distance. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind for our next trip to Manhattan!

In town for a funeral. Comfort Suites sold out. Stayed here based on reviews. Attractive room decor. Very clean. Outstanding check in with Jacob who was extremely customer service oriented and friendly. I later found out he was also a maintenance man who filled in at the desk when business was slower. He’s talented! We stayed on the even numbers side of 4th floor with a view of the park directly across the street. Room located very near the elevator and the ice machine, a plus. Upon entry into our room we realized the toilet was continuously running. Went to front desk to talk to Jacob do you ask if someone from maintenance could come up to the room or should we move. That’s when he advised he was also the maintenance man. He came up within 30 minutes, assessed we needed a new flapper, left to get one, replaced it and all was well. 2 Queen beds with 4 pillows on each bed +2 additional pillows on the clothes storage shelf. Mattresses with firm memory foam – definitely not pillow top! I did not find it very comfortable. Lighting in the room could’ve been brighter. Usual microwave fridge but the fridge had a separate and larger freezer door than usual. Nice. K-cup coffee which I do not like. Heater worked very well. Iron with re-tractable cord somewhat short. Few electrical outlets to plug-in devices. One beside the floor lamp and underneath the desk. Caution: very slick shower/tub floor and no grab bars. Breakfast was very reasonable with bacon, scrambled eggs, various bread/sweet bread, and oatmeal packets with microwave to cook your own which I love. Juices are in a can in the mini fridge. Milk and yogurt available. Delicious hot chocolate in an espresso dispenser available 24 hours. All room TVs are equipped with a DVD player and the motel supplies a bookcase of DVDs in the lobby. You check them out at the front desk. Exercise room nicely cool and working machines. I did not care for the bed but was able to sleep most of the night and given the friendliness, cleanliness, and reasonable price, we would stay there again.

Overall, satisfied! Room was clean, comfortable and I think for an economy hotel chain, I meant 90 % of my expectations. The only small detail, and not a complaint by any means, is just update your gym, fitness center is a word I wouldn’t use/ say, equipment is old and very outdated, nonetheless, overall, still very satisfied with my stay here!

Having enjoyed many prior stays here, my daughter and I returned last week. Needing to fly out the next morning from the Manhattan airport became a worrisome challenge as ice and snow conditions worsened. The front desk gals assisted with taxi info, gave us a later check-out when the flights were delayed; maintenance fellow offered to assist us in getting to our car in that awful icing, housekeepers were so sweet! (Not to mention, room was great and breakfast was nice as always) Many heartfelt thanks to these Best Western folks!
