I had a wonderful stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The service staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel environment was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. I especially loved the garden area, the swimming pool, and the stunning beach views. Waking up to the ocean view from my room was an amazing experience. Even the washroom was well-maintained and offered a great view, which made the stay feel even more special. What impressed me the most was the genuine hospitality of the staff. They made me feel welcome throughout my stay and paid attention to every detail to ensure my comfort. Overall, I would rate my experience 10/10. Everything—from the location and facilities to the service and atmosphere—was simply perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Sri Lanka.

The place is good for the price. The location is very close to the beach and restaurants, has a nice garden and pool, with lots of common areas to hang out in. The bed was comfortable and room decent with a nice balcony. They seem to only focus on cleaning the basics. I wish they’d clean a little bit deeper, and fix a couple of things because the place could be quite nice. There are some bugs - to be expected in a tropical, budget place but not too bad. Mainly there was lots of ants in the bathroom, and the walls aren’t properly sealed so it’s easy for the ants to get in. If they just did some very basic repairs, renovation and deep cleaning the place would be great. I’d still say it was good value for the location and I would stay there again if passing through Colombo.

Berjaya Hotel is a grand entrance. Feels like premium hotel and is best for the people who want to explore the beach. The view from the hotel was very serene, waking up to the sight of beach is amazing. The train passes by every few minutes which might be a nuance if you like absolute quiet environments. There are restraunts and bars nearby on the beach which is a 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It was strange to find a lack of amenities in the room like toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers. I had a walk a couple of kilometres to find a shop to buy slippers before I could take a shower and relax after a long flight. The staff was very helpful during the checkin and checkout process helping me carry my luggage even at 4am in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was also delightfully diverse with a mix of Desi, Continental and Srilankan dishes. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I hope the hotel management can add to the amenities so the international travellers can have a more comfortable stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The service staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel environment was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. I especially loved the garden area, the swimming pool, and the stunning beach views. Waking up to the ocean view from my room was an amazing experience. Even the washroom was well-maintained and offered a great view, which made the stay feel even more special. What impressed me the most was the genuine hospitality of the staff. They made me feel welcome throughout my stay and paid attention to every detail to ensure my comfort. Overall, I would rate my experience 10/10. Everything—from the location and facilities to the service and atmosphere—was simply perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Sri Lanka.

The amenities, especially the spa and pool area, were top-notch, providing the perfect place to unwind. The hotel’s location was ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. I also have to mention the dining experience—delicious food with a great variety of local and international options. Every meal was a treat! The place is good for the price. The location is very close to the beach and restaurants, has a nice garden and pool, with lots of common areas to hang out in. The bed was comfortable and room decent with a nice balcony. They seem to only focus on cleaning the basics. I wish they’d clean a little bit deeper, and fix a couple of things because the place could be quite nice. There are some bugs - to be expected in a tropical, budget place but not too bad. Mainly there was lots of ants in the bathroom, and the walls aren’t properly sealed so it’s easy for the ants to get in. If they just did some very basic repairs, renovation and deep cleaning the place would be great. I’d still say it was good value for the location and I would stay there again if passing through Colombo.

Berjaya Hotel is a grand entrance. Feels like premium hotel and is best for the people who want to explore the beach. The view from the hotel was very serene, waking up to the sight of beach is amazing. The train passes by every few minutes which might be a nuance if you like absolute quiet environments. There are restraunts and bars nearby on the beach which is a 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It was strange to find a lack of amenities in the room like toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers. I had a walk a couple of kilometres to find a shop to buy slippers before I could take a shower and relax after a long flight. The staff was very helpful during the checkin and checkout process helping me carry my luggage even at 4am in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was also delightfully diverse with a mix of Desi, Continental and Srilankan dishes. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I hope the hotel management can add to the amenities so the international travellers can have a more comfortable stay.

I wish they’d clean a little bit deeper, and fix a couple of things because the place could be quite nice. There are some bugs - to be expected in a tropical, budget place but not too bad.
