"Both times I visited they were both great times, food is decent, bar is decent - everything about it is good. Can’t wait to go back in 2021 - sadly couldn’t go this year due to the coronavirus obviously. But all in all I would recommend this hotel, the staff are also great and very accommodating."
"The hotel hasn't changed in 2 years. The rooms are still basic. The heating in the bathroom didn't work. Food in the restaurant is mass produced and with little care of presentation. If you are looking for a hotel close to the sanctuary the hotel is ok. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. I wonder where they get the stars from?"

"One of a few hotels opens in winter season. We stayed for 2 nights in the corner accessible room on the 3rd floor, so we could sleep separately. It was very useful that one room had a standing shower bathroom that is good for my 89 year-old mother in-law, and with good volume of quick-response hot water. Staffs were nice and we borrowed a wheel chair for my mother in-law. Breakfast was simple like baguette, croissants, ham & cheese, yogurt, coffee & tea, orange juice. It's located near the river and about less than 10 minutes walk to "La Grotte des Apparitions". We didn't have a view and probably most of room are the same but it's okay we were out sightseeing all day and dining out. For restaurants district, it could be walking distance (about 15~20 minutes) but we went by car because fo my mother in-law. Gratefully, parkings were fully in this season!"
"Excellent little hotel tucked away down a side street. Welcoming, attentive despite us arriving early & reception being busy. Waited in comfy chairs whilst our room was made ready. Accessed 3 hours early without issue. Room is good for the very cheap price, comfy beds, air con & heating controlled by yourself. Clean & well arranged, the only negative was lack of kettle BUT we had our own - so no problem. Bathroom clean & warm with shower over bath & really hot water. Stayed 4 nights with no problems. Only offer continental breakfast but has a bar for hot / cold drinks 24 hours. Excellent stay for the price. "
"We stayed on the 6th floor and had a room with a good view of the Castle and the mountains. The rooms were clean, tidy & maintained well with friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay. Only a short 10/15 minutes walk to the main attractions in Lourdes plus there is a few bus stops nearby should you wish to use the bus. We didn't use the hotel for breakfast. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Would've been nice to have a hot and cold drink vending machine at reception. I would stay here again though. "

"Le Viscos is a nice hotel - a very nice hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the beds big and wonderful, the staff very welcoming (most speak English and French and are happy to converse in either language) and the restaurant is excellent. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and immediately felt at ease. In fact, we were told "this is your home"...which is a lovely sentiment and one we appreciated. We ate in the restaurant twice. It's expensive but the food is of extremely high quality. It's the little details you tend to remember and, for me, meals are no exception. The 'amuse bouche' or perhaps the sorbet between the courses: these are the memories that tend to stay with you. Although it's very typically French cuisine, the restaurant isn't afraid to use unusual flavours to surprise its diners. Breakfast is continental (as always in France) but the chef will cook eggs if you wish. My feelings on breakfast are mixed. There were some excellent touches - fresh oranges and a juicer (brilliant!), lovely butter, jams and good flaky croissants. On one morning, because the Nutella (or its French equivalent) had run out, the chef made me a substitute. Wow! It was gorgeous - delicious warm chocolatey spread fresh from the kitchen. What's not to like!!! However, at the opposite end of the spectrum, I tried a muffin one morning and it was so dry I had to leave the entire cake on my plate. As for the hotel location, it's superb. Situated in a tiny village, there are stunning views of the Pyrenees both from the hotel and the square just down the road. In fact, looking out the window is like looking at a picture postcard. It's also a very convenient location for reaching those 'must see' sights in the Pyrenees such as Le Cirque de Gavernie and Le Pont d'Espagne. So why not five stars? There are a few tiny things that take this hotel out of the five star bracket (in my opinion). When we arrived the weather was very warm, up into the 30s, but the air con in the room didn't work. In fact, it didn't work at all during our stay. Personally, I think that if air con is advertised, it should work! My second point is a minor one but for me was important: in our room there were no power points within reach of a mirror. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom but if you wanted to use your own dryer or other heated hair appliances, you had no choice but to move the furniture! (We did move it back, I hasten to add!) I see someone else has mentioned that there are flimsy plastic tumblers in the bathroom rather than proper glasses. Perhaps this is a health and safety issue but almost every hotel I've stayed in offers glasses made of glass....or at minimum perspex type material. Try standing up your toothbrush in a plastic tumbler! Also in the bathroom, there is no towel rail near the basin. This means you have to either drape your towels over the bath or hang them over the top of the shower screen. These are all such minor points"
"We stayed at Hotel Le Viscos and dined there for breakfast and dinner for two wonderful nights. Our room was charmingly decorated with breathtaking views, fine toiletries, nice linens, a comfortable bed and a rarity - a full sized bathtub. The location of the hotel in the idyllic village of Saint-Savin in the French Pyrenees was perfect for our day trip to Lourdes, only 15 kilometers away. There were two standouts - the dining experience with the cuisine of the chef (indeed a Michelin experience, the chef even came to our table to see if all was what we expected) and the helpfulness and charm of one of the chef’s sons, Aurelian. Since we struggle with our French, Aurelian, who spoke perfect English, came with such a relief. And his tips on parking in Lourdes and making the most of our experience there made for a memorable time. We would definitely consider another stay at Le Viscos and give it our highest recommendation."
"Beautiful location with easy parking. Comfortable room. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner with beautiful views in the restaurant, and a delicious cooked and continental breakfast in the morning. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent."

"Check in was smooth. Double Room Superior was spacious and clean with two windows opening on to two small balconys. Toilet was in a small room separate from Shower room. The shower room was spacious and well laid out but I would prefere if both were in the same area. Buffet Breakfast was good, fruits, breads, ham, cheese, cereals, pancakes, sausages and eggs. Dinner in the restaurant was good, service with a smile which is something you will not get everywhere in Lourdes. Only problem we had was the air con was disabled on our last night but a call to reception and it was switched on again in 10 minutes. Location was good, 250 metre from santuary with a lot of places to eat and gift shops all around."
"Beautiful hotel decorated in style and had a great grace and ambiance. Probably the finest and most attractive hotel of our tour. Very clean and modern fittings and a good bed but obviously quite old itself though well maintained. My only criticism would be the dinner we had there. The food was quite good but felt we were the wild animals being fed their evening meal which was just thrown on the table and collected with equal disdain by the staff."
"I would like to recognize Florent and Monsy for the assistance they gave my group of 4 in helping us find alternative ways to go back to Paris. Our TGV train back to Paris was cancelled due to Maintenance Crew strike. It was their timely help that allowed us to exit Lourdes via Flixbus. Once again, thank you! I will be back and will definitely stay here again...location is also excellent and buffet breakfast good!"

"I stayed for 2 nights with pilgrim group from Indonesia. The hotel location is pretty good, not that far from the Sanctuary. The route from hotel to sanctuary is pretty much flat, suitable for people who use wheelchair or stroller for baby. The room is not 100% look like the one they advertise it. The room was a little bit dark, especially if you stay in the rooms overlooking the street. But, I had no problem with this. The room was clean, they provided some basic amenities like soap bars, shower gel, and shampoo. Special appreciation for the restaurant! They served good french foods for dinner, actually way too many dishes for me. Sadly, I couldnt finish all of them because the portion was huge for me. They also served excellent croissant for breakfast. The options for breakfast was not plenty, but thanks to the croissant, I was really happy though. I had a little issue with the reception staff. I was expecting a message from the hotel's boutique, the shopkeeper lady told me that she would leave a message for me through the reception if the boutique closed before I arrived back to the hotel at night. When I came back, the boutique was closed. So, I went to the reception and there was this lady. I asked her whether there is a message for me from the boutique. I did not really like her attitude because I felt like being dismissed by her. I was just asking, if you did not know or you felt like it wasn't your business at all, just told me nicely. No need to give me that attitude. My experience with the hotel staffs was pleasant, they were really helpful and kind beside that grumpy reception lady."
"I cannot believe that this hotel would get a negative review from anyone. Clean, modern, staff very helpful also. They do have a military style regime for feeding you but when I spoke to the lady at the front desk she called down to the dining area and we were fed earlier then the hour they had set for us. All repeat ALL, hotels in Europe need to get on the band wagon and have coffee available for us early birds in the lobby!!!"
"Situated close to the Grotto and its related buildings kept walking down to a minimum. A quality hotel which seemed to improve day by day. First day I had doubts as the hotel appeared full and staff were running about like headless chickens. Thankfully the rest of our stay was brilliant.Generous portions of excellent food coupled with fantastic table service,in particular Joanne?. She was here there and everywhere;always smiling-what an asset to any business. A special mention has to be the housekeeping-immaculate bedrooms and cleanliness. A four star hotel that deserves its rating."

"We were walking through the Pyrenees and therefore only stayed one night at the Lion d'Or, but it was a highlight of our trip. We were warmly welcomed by Madame Bernadette, who took the trouble to show us to our room, and didn't even make us take our walking off boots off. The decor of the hotel is interesting and charming, reflecting the history of mountaineering in the Pyrenees. Our room was very comfortable with a great shower, a small fridge and some lovely biscuits. There was a Nespresso machine for coffee, which is a nice touch if you are fussy about your coffee. Our room looked to the back of the hotel, over the Thermes des Rochers, and was very quiet. We had a great sleep. At breakfast we enjoyed fresh bread, home made cake and jam, and plenty of other delights. It was delicious. We love the Pyrenees and are sure to be back in Cautherets. When we return, we will definitely stay at the Lion d'Or."
"This is a wonderful small hotel! It has been in the same family for 107 years..... The welcome is amazingly warm and the food absolutely sensational. If you are planning to ski it is very near to the telecabine, and just a minute's walk from the centre of town and many lovely bars and restaurants. From the back door of the hotel it is literally 1 minute walk to the hot spa. Can't emphasise how wonderful it was to swim outside in the naturally hot water with the snowy mountains behind. Thank you Tomas and the rest of the family! We shall certainly be booking again."
"Ask for room with king size bed and suite with single bed. With elevator to facilitate luggage. Complete amenities and comfort. We opted to eat outside in La Royale restaurant but the in house restaurant also serves food. friendly staff and literally across from famous Thermal Bath of Cauteret. Charming hotel, old fashioned furniture which comes with the theme of the hotel."

"Great service, great hotel. Lourdes is a great place to visit and find peace. It is a big hotel and 10 mins away from the Grotto. There are several shops and restaurants nearby but the hotel also has a good restaurant."
"It was a perfect visit to Lourdes. We loved the location of the hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience and great visit to Lourdes."
"Chose hotel as base for four days visiting the Pyrenees during the Summer heatwave as it had air conditioning in the rooms. Reasonably good value however not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Room in need of renovation with stains on carpet, some electric sockets not working and room not very clean. Parking at hotel very expensive although free overnight public parking easily available nearby. Seems to be mainly used by bus tours/groups visiting Lourdes itself."
