Very special hotel, half an hour from the airport, self-driving, free parking, parking lot with luggage cart, you need to pull your luggage into the room.

Leider haben wir keine Informationen über die Frühstückszeiten erhalten. im Zimmer gibt es jedoch eine Broschüre, welche Auskunft gibt. Es wird mitgeteilt, dass das ”all you can eat”-Frühstücksbuffet an Wochenenden und Feiertagen bis 12.00 zur Verfügung steht. Als wir am Samstag um 10.15 Uhr an Buffet kamen, war leider bereits alles abgeräumt. Wir bekamen, widerwillig, noch ein kleines Frühstück, welches dem Preis von CHF 15.00 pro Person leider nicht entsprach. Als wir das Personal darauf angesprochen haben, wurden wir zurückgewiesen, wir haben dies falsch verstanden. Am Sonntag waren wir dann nun früher unterwegs, und haben uns am Buffet bedienen können. Um 10.00 Uhr kamen weitere Hotelgäste, welche diese Broschüre gelesen haben, und dies ebenfalls so verstanden haben, dass es bis 12.00 Uhr Frühstück gibt. Das Personal am Frühstücksbuffet war sehr unfreundlich und hat das Buffet sehr gewaltsam bedient.

Restaurant Schmitte: have looked at the rooms briefly over the day. We liked it very well, so we came back to dinner. Friendly reception, discharge of the clothes. The Stv. Restaurant manager recommends the current house apéro in bloomy words: we order this, as well as a tomato juice. To eat we select the 2-farbige caroten mousse and the salmon forelle in the glass, as well as the zander filet and the Pata-Negra Tagliata. Everything tastes very fine - compliment to the kitchen! The main corridors are very generously portioned. To do this, the (very competent) restaurant manager recommends the red Quarteto of Lenz - super! Despite the full restaurant we are carefully taken care of, including by the apprentice (see next sentence). Also very positively, we are also impressed that in this business youth are trained with support needs. All respect and appreciation for the patrons of this house, and congratulations on this beautiful operation in this quite well-reconstructed historical apartment!

We were very pleased with this hotel in the traffic free Old Town of Winterthur, surrounded by shops and restaurants. We enjoyed this location as it was within a 5 minute walk of the train station, which got us to our destinations easily without the hurried bustle of Zurich (close by for a day trip). Upon registration, Melanie took us up to our room and carefully explained how everything worked and what was available in the room, including safe, fridge, very comfortable beds and a lovely modern bathroom. Since this was our first night in Switzerland, it was a very appreciated gesture. The room was nicely decorated, quiet and upscale for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful, including Nicole in the restaurant and the breakfast staff (Velspa? - sorry I did not get her name correct). We would definitely stay here again and really enjoyed the more relaxed pace of Winterthur.

It’s an excellent hotel, with fascinating breakfast ! The room was very spacious and clean. I enjoyed my stay there. The only negative thing is that the windows of my room looked to the railway. I traveled there in the beginning of June, it was not hot and I didn’t have to open a window at night. But I can imagine that in hot weather the sounds of trains can be really annoying .
