The rooms are very simple, and the villagers' houses are visually sensitive. The air conditioner is very poor, it often turns off automatically, and wakes up several times during sleep. The hotel is situated on a hillside but in walking distance of the village of Ettal, including the big monestry. The rooms are all comfy but differ quite much in roomsize and view to hillside or valleyside. At hillside you can hear the sheeps grazing the hillside and chiming their neckbells while doing that. Breakfast was fine and can be done outside too, weather permitting. The villages of Garmisch and Mittenwald are nearby (max 30 km) which have more stunning mountainpeaks.

We stayed in the Duplex cabin for 3 nights. Great views from both the dining area and bedroom windows. We loved the hammock and lounge chair up in the loft, which is the perfect place to relax in during a cold winter day. Bed was comfortable and the whole cabin was heated nicely for comfort. Location was excellent. Although the bedroom faces the main road, we were not disturbed by noise and slept well. Town centre, train station, supermarket were all within walking distance. The staff were very helpful, from helping us sort out the Data SIM card issue, to recommending ski school for beginners like us. The breakfast was nutritious and yummy; their scrambled eggs were the best we have tasted. Will definitely stay here again.

Booked a comfort double room with a small round table for tea. 2 mountains can be seen. Below the hotel are small rivers and train tracks. Closing the window is not noisy. In the evening, the hotel has a buffet for 20 people. Free for children under 6 years old. The attitude of the staff said how to say the past to the Chinese. But don't don't understand English and don't realize it. It is possible to pay more. Our children are 3 months and 6 years old. In the evening, the buffet was 10 Euros.
