"If you are planning a trip to Passau on the beautiful Danube River, try the Hotel Konig. This is a truly gorgeous hotel, right on the river. Our room is beautifully appointed, very comfortable bed, mini bar, nice sparkling clean bathroom. Check in was 2 p.m. So in the meantime we took a two hour boat trip on the Swarovski Kristallschiff, What a beautiful boat, all done up in Swarovski crystal chandeliers, an incredible crystal staircase, crystals everywhere you look. The cruise booking center is right across the road from the hotel. We received a 7% discount for the cruise from Hotel Konig. But getting back to the hotel, the parking garage is right on the street next to the hotel. The lady at check-in took us down and showed us where you park. You must have a reservation to park your vehicle as space is limited and there is a charge for parking. The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. Walking out the front of the door takes you to the river and little shops and restaurants all along the way. If you take the elevator in the hotel to the second floor, it lets you out into Old Town Passau with lots more shops. This is a great hotel in a great location at a good price. I highly recommend it!"
"Hotel Koenig is a charming Hotel located right on the Danube River. Reception staff very professional and always had friendly smiles. We requested a quiet double comfort room with river views. That is exactly what we had for our 3 night stay. Especially nice, was the sitting area in our room, with 2 Tub Chairs, great for having a cup of tea and enjoying people/river views. Comfort room had tea-making facilities and mini-bar. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast Room was bright and had good selection of all types of food. Coffee/Tea orders were prompt and waitresses so kind and friendly. Approx 7 Euro taxi fare from station. Main entrance is right on the wharf and has a elevator up to Reception. There is also a 2nd Exit, out to the old town, on the 2nd Floor. Would love to return for a longer stay!"
"We stayed at this hotel for two nights and found it very comfortable, the staff were generally pleasant. It has a good location on the edge of the old town, adjacent to the Danube and close to the main cathedral. Excellent car parking at street level. Breakfasts were very good although one of us was disappointed by the lack of a variety of hot breakfasts which was restricted to scrambled egg and sausages. The Bavarian hams were wonderful!!nice lounge overlooking the river. The hotel rooms were very clean and well appointed. We found it peculiar that it was not possible to get lifts upwards from certain floors. We recommend this hotel and which we would certainly stay at again."

Hauzenberger Straße 48, Waldkirchen, Bavaria, Germany

"We stayed at the hotel for one night as we were in the area, driving down the „Glassstraße“ - a rod on which large garden center style shops sell glass ware. We booked through booking.com. The room we were given had 3 single beds instead of a double and single, bathroom, probably the smallest hotel bathroom i have seen, however with bath and shower. As well as 3 beds the room had small two seater settee and 2 chairs, as well as a balcony. On arrival we were given wrist bands to the adjoining Karoline swimming pool / Therm complex - complimentary access as often as you like. The bedroom was spacious and quite, beds comfortable. We only booked bed and breakfast, but ate in the hotels restaurant in the evening. We had to sit on the terrace, as inside was full - luckily the weather was just warm enough. Just off the terrace is a meadow with kids playground in, suitable for younger children - say upto 8 years or so. The food was good, we all started with soups, I had the burger for €12.90 which was quite large and tasty. For the money we paid I think the hotel is good. "
"We have stayed in Michel and friends for 3 nights and were in general very happy. Facilities are old, but clean. Breakfast is also good and dinner you could choose to use at the restaurant at the hotel or you could go to the village which is very close by. The welcome was very poor as we arrived at 13.00 and were send away as we could not check in before 15.00. When I asked if we could use the facilities like the pool or what else we could do with a child and a baby and if we in the meanwhile could store our luggage, she said we better keep it in the car and could do a lunch in town somewhere. The pool she did not know as it was not yet included as we were not checked in. The same girl was there during check out and could not bother to ask if we enjoyed our stay or anything simular. Just told us how much it was and did the check out. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpfull at any time. It is a petty that in an overall very nice stay 1 person can have so much influence. "
"The management of this so called hotel are the most rude people i met on earth. The most unhelpfull staff i ever encountered in my life. Be catefull stay away from this hotel they are there only to rip you off"

Fritz-Schaeffer-Promenade 6, Passau, Bavaria, Germany

"We stayed here only one night; wish we’d had time to stay longer. The hotel is on the Donau and in the old part of town. It is comfortable and modern while retaining a stately ambiance. There’s a spacious library / reading room for guests. Staff are very professional. Breakfast is a feast. We stayed in a river view 2-storey suite that had its own entrance off road and a garage beneath. Access was via a flight of stairs. On the main floor there was a living room with a gas fireplace, a kitchenette, a toilet, and a small verandah. The bedroom was upstairs, with toilet/sink/shower. The fittings and decoration and furniture were all high quality and evidently chosen with care. The overall effect was very impressive. The hotel has a bar but no restaurant; there is a good Bavarian restaurant less than 60 seconds walk away, and a sort of hip place just next to it. "
"Lovely family owned hotel. We stayed here halfway through a 3 week vacation. The first part was a vrbo and we were about to join a barge for seven days of bike riding along the Danube. My husband booked us a suite with a large deck with a hot tub and it was perfect, just the right amount of indulgence before another adventure. Everything about this hotel was perfect for us. The location is great, the staff were very professional and still managed to be warm and inviting and breakfast was better than most. We will recommend this hotel to any friends traveling to Passau."
"We very much enjoyed our stay here. Convenient location to stay before taking our cruise....we arrived one day early and enjoyed Passau. The breakfast was very good...a very charming place to stay. It is close to many nice restaurants...they offered dining suggestions, since they only serve breakfast. Very friendly staff."

Untere Donaulände 4, Passau, Bavaria, Germany

"The Hotel is coveniently sited with the Reception Floor at street level in the centre of Passau, and the Rear Entrance 2 floors lower giving direct access to the Danube river. There is a lift and stairs to all floors, with a small roof terrace overlooking the Danube Our room on the 4th Floor overlooked the Danuble. Our room was spacious with Double Bed, settee which converted into a bed, desk and chair , Television, minibar, tray of assoted snacks to buy and most unusually a Kettle and tea making facilities. The bathroom was reasonably sized fully tiled with underfloor heating, there was a bath and overhead shower. A nice touch was different coloured towels on the bathroom radiator which stopped that "which (white) towel have you used " discussion. There was also an ample selection of toiletries including toothbrush and razor! Large wardrobes completed the deal. The hotel because of its locationin the centre of town, does not serve Dinners, but the buffet breakfast is excelllent, large selection, with everything fresh and relenished regularily by the two very efficient and helpful Staff. A nice touch is jugs of fresh coffee or pots of tea are served It was obvious that the whole hotel had been carefully desisugned and the theme of satin wood and teak on doors was carried through on wardrobes, Reception desk and even the Breakfast food Island Ther was also a small but comfortable bar, and also sauna facilities All in all I would recommend this hotel"
"The Hotel Passauer Wolf had an entrance off the Danube quay as well as an entrance off the Altstadt pedestrian zone. The hotel was a quick taxi ride from the station and very German, with efficiently designed, comfortable rooms. Towels were thick and luxurious. Though we did not specifically book a room with a Danube view, we nonetheless had a partial view of the river. The bed was comfortable with individual quilts. We slept well, even with the window open at night. The room had a fan, which we placed near the window. There was no air conditioning. Breakfast was EUR 9,--/day per person. What a superb value: huge buffet, wide variety of coffee, tea, and juices, even Easter eggs for the holiday, The hotel has a lift, but there are still partial stairways. The lift does not go to the top floor. My wife has trouble going up and down stairs and we were booked on the top floor. The hotel staff were extremely understanding, courteous, and accommodating and managed to rebook our room to a more accessible floor (even though there were still a few steps involved). This despite the hotel being completely booked over the Easter holiday. I can't overstate how grateful we were. We had a great stay at this very German hotel and would definitely stay here again. It was a true find and an excellent value. When it was time to take our luggage to the Viking River Ship, it was parked directly across the street from the hotel. What a great happenstance."
"Wonderful location for exploring the old city, going to restaurants, or biking along the Danube. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Frieda! The breakfast is well organized and well stocked with all types of foods in the large buffet. everything was clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace and welcome drinks were added bonuses. We were on the top floor, so it was a bit warm if we kept the windows closed, but since school was not yet in session, noise was not an issue. I think that is the same for any hotel in the old city. It was nice to have a river view and a sky light, yet darken the room entirely with the blackout shades. A great value!"

Neue Rieser Str. 6, Passau, Bavaria, Germany

"The location is perfect - not so far from the centre and close to the highway. they offer paid indoor parking. That was good solution for us instead of looking for parking space outside. The hotel staff as more then friendly with us. We were in double room... so confortable, quiet and clean. The Wi-Fi conection wasn't so good, but it wasn't big deal. The hotel has wellness area. We didn't have time to try it. Probably we will visit it next time."
"We first stayed at this hotel in June transiting Germany during the pandemic situation. The room was very clean. Everything looked clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure if the hotel has restaurant or not. We did not eat in the hotel. Parking was only 8€. The hotel is really close to the center, in a very nice and quite area. Second time, still during pandemic situation, we stayed here in October. Yes, definitely recommend. "
"We had a terrible experience there. The spa is nice but there was a power blackout while we were inside and we had no visibility at all... it was dangerous to find the exit (no safety exit signs at all, is that even legal??). We could not continue enjoying the SPA for the rest of day.... No compensation was offered, no reduction on the cost of the room, not even an apology from the manager (the front desk staff was nice though)! She even insinuated that we did something wrong inside the spa to cause to power blackout! The manager we spoke to on the phone is irresponsible and not customer-oriented at all.... the only thing she cares about is making money. Location of hotel is also unpleasant if you want to enjoy Passau by feet as it is next to the highway. To be fair breakfast was OK as well as the room but nothing outstanding. I do not recommend!"
